    Chris and Derek continue their look back at movies celebrating major milestone anniversaries. This week, the guys go back and watch "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" which is celebrating 40 years since its theatrical release back in 1983. Chris and Derek discuss the box office, scenes and themes from the film and also talk about the history of the Monty Python comedy troupe as well as some of the other films from the 6 members of the group. For the trivia segment of the show, Derek quizzes Chris on movies that feature the Monty Python cast and directors.

    This week, Chris and Derek talk about one of the most iconic hard rock bands of all time, AC/DC. The guys do a top 5 list of their favorite AC/DC songs. For the trivia segment of the show, the play a game of "Name that Tune". Chris gives the band and a few lyrics and Derek must name the song. The common thread in the game is that all songs have double entendres (usually dirty).

    Chris and Derek continue to look at movies celebrating milestone anniversaries this year with their review of 1993's "The Fugitive" starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. They discuss the box office performance, the cast, the script, quotes and trivia from the film. For the trivia segment of the show, the play a game of "Pick the Flick". Chris gives Derek the year and synopsis of movies and Derek must guess the titles of the films. The common thread is that all of the movies are based on TV shows.

    Chris usually doesn't enjoy sequels. However, this week he thought it would be fun to take a look at some sequels that never came about, but maybe should have. Chris and Derek each put together a top 5 list of sequels they wish had gotten made. For the trivia segment of the show, Chris gives Derek the subtitle of a sequel title and Derek must guess the sequel. It's less complicated (and more fun) then it sounds. Honestly.

    With the recent passing of Paul Reubens, Chris and Derek thought it might be worthwhile going back and re-watching "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" and reviewing it this week. The guys discuss Paul Reubens' career and controversies, the film's director (Tim Burton), the script, scenes and quotes. For the trivia segment of the show, the guys play a game of "Pick the Flick" where Chris gives a movie synopsis and Derek must guess the film (all movies are from 1985).

    Chris and Derek have been reviewing movies this season that are celebrating 'milestone' anniversaries. This week, they review the 1978 movie "Superman" starring Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando. The guys discuss the film's box office success, cast, themes, scenes and debate about whether or not it holds up to the current batch of superhero movies of recent times. For the trivia segment of the show, Chris quizzes Derek about movies where the lead actor did not receive 'top billing' on the film.

Particularly, they are interested in how this effects pop culture and vice versa. Furthermore, the guys discuss memes, influencers and how YouTube has changed the pop culture landscape. For the trivia segment of the show, Derek quizzes Chris about important dates in social media history.


    Episode 260: “This is the End” (2013): Movie Review Jun 29, 2023

    This week, for something different, Chris suggests reviewing a film that came out later than 1989 for a change. He has Derek go back and watch "This is the End", the apocalyptic black comedy from 2013 starring Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco and Jonah Hill. For the trivia segment of the show, Derek has Chris try to guess movies where actors appear as themselves.
