Small Talk: Listener Questions Part Two Jul 02, 2017
    Show notes

It’s the second installment of Listener Questions! Julia and Hannah answer questions sent into them by listeners, such as: What’s your favorite film score? What movie character would you swap for another movie character in a different movie? What fictional relationship is most like your real relationship? Can Julia ever correctly spell Willem Dafoe or will it always be something she struggles with? Is Hannah’s relationship even comparable to Pam and Jim from The Office? What’s the best movie with “Super” in the title? What is the best cereal and where is the worst place to eat ice cream? Groundbreaking stuff, folks. All will be revealed – it’s time for Film Roast Listener Questions!

Mini Movie Moments: It Comes At Night Jun 24, 2017
    Show notes

Wow! A brand new segment! Julia and Hannah review the new horror movie It Comes At Night, along with lingering questions about what the heck happened in that movie. It Comes At Night stars Joel Edgerton as Paul and Christopher Abbott as Will. They play two men trying to protect their families while an unknown virus is attacking their community. Should they trust each other? Why would anyone open the locked doors? Was anyone actually sick or was it all in their heads? And what did the final scene actually mean? Hannah and Julia will cover all of these questions and give their thoughts. Sit back, grab your gas mask, and lock both of those doors: It’s time for a mini movie moments with Film Roast! This episode contains *SPOILERS*!

Volume XXII: More Like Dudd Apatow Jun 24, 2017
    Show notes

In this week’s episode, Julia and Hannah get to let loose their ranting sides as they discuss movies that should have been awesome but actually were just the worst. A movie all about Beatles songs? Another Indiana Jones installment? A musical with Daniel Day-Freaking-Lewis? These should have all been winners, right? WRONG. And Julia and Hannah are here to tell you why, along with some other disappointing picks. And as a special treat, listen as Julia explains who Kristin Kendrick is for five minutes before realizing her actual name is Anna. Also, Julia and Hannah give what may be their worst (best?) rants yet (spoiler: they involve two very poor impressions of beloved characters from Lion King). Get ready to slam your popcorn down in anger – it’s time for Film Roast!

Volume XXI: Liam Neeson: Ultimate Movie Daddy or Nah? Jun 14, 2017
    Show notes

Break out your dad jokes – it is the Father’s Day episode! Hannah and Julia discuss best movie dads, including Liam Neeson and his phone (and sweater) skills, Sean Connery’s seagulls, and the king of all lion dads. Plus, Hannah makes Julia play a suspicious Father’s Day game! You’ll hear the ladies talk about their own Dads and their questionable use of phones. You will hear Julia talk about her love for Anthony Hopkins and both will realize that they have a thing for single dads in movies! Sit back, grab a friend or your Dad and enjoy — It’s time for Film Roast!

Volume XX: Nathan Lane is Not a Woman Jun 10, 2017
    Show notes

Is that LL Cool J or Drew Barrymore? It’s anybody’s guess in this episode as Julia and Hannah discuss the most memorable movie disguises! A pant-less Santa Claus, a pre-insane Amanda Bynes, and an inadvertent moment of Sawception (yes, there will be spoilers) are just a few of the classic disguises the ladies uncover. Plus, a recap of Julia and Hannah’s Disney vacations!

Volume XIX: Hannah Doesn’t Understand British Movies Jun 01, 2017
    Show notes

This week, Hannah is riding solo as Julia enjoys her Honeymoon. After searching far and wide, they found a co-host who loves superhero films so much he’s even got one tattooed on his arm. Film Roast welcomes Steven from the Is This Adulting? podcast to chat about his favorite music in a movie scene. Hear him describe why he loves the Pixies, Donnie Darko, and how he loves seeing Otho banging the ice bucket in Beetlejuice. Hannah talks “Tequila” and gives the ladies at Large Marge Sent Us podcast a shoutout. Sit back, put on your headphones and turn the volume to 11, it’s time for Film Roast!

Listen to Hannah discuss how her Dad and Clark Griswold strike an uncanny resemblance. You’ll get full access to all the answers here! Sit down and grab your favorite mug: It’s time for Film Roast Listener Questions!

Volume XVIII: Introducing Mrs. Rock-A-Doodle May 20, 2017
    Show notes

1991 was an excellent year…for movies! In this episode, Julia and Hannah reminisce about the year the world was graced with their presence and also a bunch of other stuff like Clarice Starling, Glenn Close secretly dressed up like a pirate, and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s very expensive dialogue. Dust off those stirrup pants, kids – it’s time for Film Roast!

Volume XVII: A Trip Down Musical Lane May 12, 2017
    Show notes

The hills are alive…with the sound of the musical episode of Film Roast! This week Julia and Hannah invite you to listen (and sing badly) along with them as they discuss their favorite movie musicals. From such classics like Chicago and The Wizard of Oz to an obscure Muppet pick, the ladies recount just why these musicals are like, the best ever. Also, Julia and Hannah revisit an old feud – and discover a new one that strikes like greased lightning. Pop! Six! Squish! It’s time for Film Roast!

Volume XVI: She Went Full Jodie Foster May 06, 2017
    Show notes

Julia and Hannah relive the most memorable scenes from the films of David Fincher, the master of the dark and edgy (and Brad Pitt). The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Benjamin Button are just a few of the movies up for grabs in this episode as Julia and Hannah discuss Rosamund Pike’s flawless voice (and ability to murder), the snooze-fest that is Brad Pitt aging backwards, and Jared Leto’s cornrows. Also, Hannah spoils Se7en. Sit back, relax, and don’t talk about Fight Club – it’s time for Film Roast!
