EP 29: [Powered Chat] Vision vs Recognition Dec 10, 2021
    Show notes

In this week's Powered AF "Powered Chat" I decided to jump on an IG Live discussion to go over my upcoming plans for the new year, where my mindstate is currently, and what I see for myself in the future. As a business owner you have to understand that life is full of changes. The things you may have valued in the beginning of your journey may not hold the same weight with where you are now. A major topic that's come to mind as of lately is vision versus recognition. Is it better to stick to a grand vision and disregard recognition until the mission is accomplished or should you put your work down for a second and step into the spotlight.

We discuss the difference between working towards a greater mission and working solely for recognition, the pros and cons of both and most importantly what I think is the better of the two. As a business owner you'll be constantly confronted by these two very different paths and it's up to you to constantly evaluate where you are, who you are and where you want to be.

This episode is for anyone stuck at the crossroads of producing content and building a public image or working hard in silence and strictly focusing on results.

EP 28: Harsh Truths to Myself Dec 06, 2021
    Show notes

In this week's Powered Chat we're taking a trip into the past as I go over the harsh truths | should have told myself along my journey. This wasn't an easy episode to record and a lot of us struggle with being honest about our own faults. It's very easy to look outside of yourself when things are not right but the key to growth is being real with yourself so that you can make the changes necessary to continue your path to success.

Over the last few months l've been taking the opportunity to analyze my life and where I want to be and how I see myself. Am I moving too slow or too quickly towards the life I desire? This entire episode is a detailed re-evaluation of self that any entrepreneur could relate to and learn from. Tune in as I go over the key lessons I've given to my mentees and how to apply them.

The path to greatness is uncommon. You cannot become great by doing the same as everyone else. Excuses can't exist and commitment must override inconsistency if greatness is truly the path you are on. So while I go over each valuable message I'd tell my younger self, take the moment to reanalyze your position and consider what you'd say to your past self or even better what you've learned that can be applied to building out your greater future self!

EP 23: [Powered Chat] Facebook iOS Updates and Data Privacy Laws: How to Navigate the Landscape Today (Part 3) Nov 19, 2021
    Show notes

In this week's Powered AF Powered Chat we're back for part 3 of our 5 part series with Katona. This episode is all about staying up to date with the ever changing IOS updates and data privacy laws. As the digital space changes, business owners need to know how to maneuver and keep business growing through unpredictability. Businesses that succeed are not the ones that stick to their guns and remain solid but the ones that are most open and adapting to change.

Katona and I discuss how I personally have adapted to these policy changes and whether I think Facebook is still the way to go for digital advertising. As privacy laws become a major concern in today's climate the advertising features on platforms such as Facebook will not be as good as they are today so you must take advantage

When I originally started advertising nearly a decade ago any advertised post could get some sort of traction. As sweet as those days were, they will not be returning. Today's focus is on creators and constant content so no longer can just one winning ad stay championed. We go over these changes and also discuss how to best position yourself in this ever-changing digital space.

EP 20: How to Build Successful Business Partnerships with Jubril Agoro Nov 08, 2021
    Show notes

We have a special one on this week's Powered AF! I got a chance to sit down with Jubril Agoro @jubril8. You may know Jubril from his extremely popular travel/adventure Youtube channel Passport Heavy where he explores lesser known cities around the world in hopes of changing the stereotyped views of certain regions. Or maybe you've heard of Live Richer, a budgeting program Jubril co-founded that helps empower minority women financially.

In this episode we cover a range of topics like entrepreneurship, upbringing, motivation and the importance of partnerships and how they can be vital to not only promoting but funding your golden ideas. Jubril takes us step by step through how he got his first taste of entrepreneurship and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

The interesting thing from this conversation with Jubril is his focus on the importance of vision. Not just thinking about what you're doing that works now but also preparing for the possibility of change. Without vision you can get lost in the midst of a company's transition, which Jubril discusses during his early entrepreneurial start using eBay. This episode is filled with gems for any infinite goal minded entrepreneur.
