Joe Giglio is feeling it after seeing Pearl Jam at Lenovo Center. After recapping what he can remember, the guys get into Bill Belichick rebooting UNC's offseason talk away from all things Jordon Hudson and focused on actual football. Then again, what exactly does he know about the team he's putting together? Steve Schwartz, longtime North Carolina high school basketball official, was the chairperson of the Officiating Ad Hoc Committee tasked by the NCHSAA with studying the issues surrounding recruitment and retention of officials in North Carolina. His findings were suboptimal. Schwartz joined Ovies & Giglio in-studio to discuss what, if anything, was done since his 2022 study and the potential crisis facing high school athletics.

In the May 9th edition of OG Mailbag, Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio address the latest kerfuffle involving North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick's girlfriend Jordon Hudson. Podcast host Pablo Torre released an episode detailing the relationship, claiming Hudson had been banned from the football facility by UNC. The school denied the claim through an official release, saying "Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University."

What's up with the way ESPN, and specifically PK Subban, talk about the Canes during the playoffs? Doug Warf, president of the Hurricanes, dropped by the studio to discuss how Lenovo Center will handle 5 sold out events in 5 days along with some other franchise business matters. ESPN's David Hale joined the show to discuss his 24-hour adventure inside a Buc-ee's and whether or not he'd do that again rather than talk about Bill Belichick the rest of the offseason. On a more serious discussion, the ACC teams are finding creative ways to schedule in an effort to boost their television revenue. How creative should the conference get?
