    #057 | April 28th, 2011: Tom Morgan Apr 28, 2011
    Show notes

Click the post for details on this episode! Open House is proud to welcome back Tom Morgan for his second exclusive episode. Last time we had Tom on the show, he was coming to us from the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2010... you can check that out HERE. Slowly but surely, Tom Morgan is establishing himself as one of the next generation of household names, withan ever-increasing fan base and a growing amount of support from the industry’s biggest DJs. From Bogotato Bangkok, Budapest to Dubai, Tom has forged a reputation as one of the most diligent and versatile artists on the circuit; a view also shared by Desyn Masiello, who tipped him as ‘a DJ who’ll break through in the 2006 DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Tom’s tireless devotion to the craft is there for all to hear in each and every set, with his sound possessing a maturity that defies his years. "I’ve known Tom for a long time since he used to come and see me at one of my first residencies up in Scotland. He’s got a spot on ear for a hot tune and I’ve always supported him - the man has a solid DJ career ahead of him." – Desyn Masiello Born in 1985, Tom has been immersed in music ever since he can remember. However, since being bitten by the house music bug at the age of fourteen, he hasn’t looked back. A regular at seminal Scottish house night Progression, where regular guests included Desyn, Danny Howells, Luke Fair and Lee Burridge, Tom’s teenage years were spent practically living in clubs. Seeing DJs of that calibre on a regular basis helped feed his passion and provided the basis of an education on what moves a dancefloor. “I have many ‘where the $%*& did he get that?’ moments when listening to Tom's sets. He plays some of the best music out there and has a great ear for tunes.” – Luke Fair Tom is renowned for playing a wide range of music that traverses many genres, with his sound becoming increasingly difficult to pin down; anything from 115 BPM downtempo and deep house all the way through to peak time progressive and banging techno. His sets possess a trademark personal touch; packed with unknown gems that have passed beneath the radar of most, with many tracks edited in line with his musical vision. This reputation was cemented further by Desyn’s decision to hire him in an A&R capacity for his prestigious Alternative Route label; giving him access to a vast number of tracks and ensuring that practically his every waking minute is spent listening to music. “Tom is undoubtedly a true music lover who is set for great things to come.” - Omid 16B With Tom’s profile on the rise and his sound creating more demand, a global tour was sparked in 2006, encompassing a host of South American countries as well as all over Europe, Asia and America. This gave him the chance to hone his skills in a variety of environments, both headlining and sharing the booth with DJs like Nick Warren, Jimmy Van M, Desyn Masiello, Omid 16B, Jody Wisternoff, Luke Fair and Spirit Catcher. 2007 saw the launch of his digital imprint, Discoteca Music, alongside Dana Bergquist, balErik, Somnus Corp and more recently, Luke Fair. Their emphasis on quality has generated a lot of support from a vast number of A-list DJs and they’ve attained a reputation for having their collective finger firmly on the pulse; picking up on a host of up-and-coming producers well ahead of the pack. Parties are the latest string in their bow, with the label gigs taking them as far as Guadalajara, Miami, Bogota, Helsinki, Oslo and Toronto. 2010 sees the most significant steps in Tom's career to date. Tom has been selected as one of the core members of the new Faciendo concept; where seven members will regularly contribute, alongside Desyn Masiello, to a series of mix CDs and worldwide parties, with the intention of pushing their careers to the next level. Add to this a blossoming production alliance with France's Urban Breathe and it is further evidence that Tom is taking strides towards being mentioned in the same breath as the luminaries whose influence helped to shape his sound; with this year representing a coming of age for this young talent. #052 | February 24th, 2011: Pig & Dan Feb 24, 2011
    Show notes

Click the post for details on this episode! Pig & Dan aka Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan seem to be the new kids in the underground. However the experience of this duo stretches back to the beginning of the dance music scene. This was only possible because of their work in major recording studio’s making tea for the famous and learning about engineering and producing pop records. In those days there were no home studios like there are today plus a very limited selection of synthesizers or electronic equipment to sequence with. They both used the time when nobody was working in the studio’s to start to experiment using the primitive technology that was available to them. In 1990 Dan followed through with a new vibe and became part of one of the most influential drum & bass artists known in the genres history ¨Intense¨. He played both live and behind the decks with the likes of LTJ Bukem, Fabio and Grooverider all over the globe. He was then responsible for hitting the mainstream after signing a big deal with Sony records, but still maintained the sound that was considered deep underground. In 1999 Igor met Dan on a flight to Spain and began a partnership that has now risen to a point of recognition worldwide. Their mixture of influences has given them a sound, which is easily recognizable and seems to be loved by the masses. Almost immediately the likes of Sander Kleinenburg and Anthony Pappa were including them on their massive selling mix CD´s and other mainstream DJ´s such as Laurent Garnier and Deep Dish were including many of their tracks in their summer sessions. After over twenty releases on their well-respected label 'Submission' Pig & Dan felt it was time to take a turn and go back their more electronic roots. They opened a new label 'Sonic Society' which is now being hailed as one of the it labels in the club scene, plus has the likes of Sven Vath, Loco Dice and Mandy supporting the duo in a big way. Due to the support of the more tech side of the scene Pig & Dan have now released with Cocoon both on vinyl and CD and have been remixing for the likes of most respected Underworld and Oliver Koletzki to name a few. Also their work behind the decks has exploded in a big way! They are the only DJs that have been invited to play in Cocoon club after being part of the much acclaimed night ¨next generation¨ and have been booked to play around the globe from London to Buenos Aires. Both as artists and DJs Pig & Dan are set to put the smiley face back into the dance industry. They’re on mission to help us have our good night out, and take us back to the vibe that was only found in previous years. ¨Its time to make people in the club scene have fun again. We all love a dark tune, but there’s enough darkness out there so lets get together and create some good memories¨ (Pig & Dan) Pig & Dan's Myspace - Click HERE Pig & Dan's Facebook - Click HERE The Track List for this show is not available at this time.

    #049 | February 3rd, 2011: Victor Dinaire Feb 03, 2011
    Show notes

Click the post for details on this episode! From his early beginnings in the music industry, Victor Dinaire has embraced hard work and dedication as the road to success. Immersing himself in every facet of the industry - from handing out flyers to packing mailers as a record label intern, Victor's humble roots have provided unique insight into what it takes to be successful both on the stage and off. Born Victor Krasniqi to an Albanian family, Victor was the youngest of five in the first generation in America. Growing into his role as a young DJ in New York City, Dinaire spent countless hours in the underground dance scene honing the craft and learning the art of programming from masters such as Junior Vasquez. Promoting and throwing events to showcase his own sound, Victor quickly began to build up momentum behind his name. The record executives at BMG / Logic Records took notice, and soon offered him the opportunity to mix a series of compilation CDs for the label. His first release "Logic Trance 4" went straight into the Top 5 on the CMJ charts and proceeded to sell out, as did the Timeless Trance series “Midnight and Morning Sessions” and the following “Entrance" on Bonzai Music Italy / Megahit US. From this initial success, Victor was soon performing out in clubs across the US as a regular at NY's heralded Arc nightclub, Spundae LA, Avalon Hollywood, On Broadway San Diego, and as resident for 2 years at Blue, Miami. Turning his attention towards expanding his audience on a larger scale, Victor began his domination of the airwaves. His weekly radio show "Peak Hour" on Sirius Satellite Radio was soon followed by "Resident Nation" on Music Choice TV, and ultimately Future Progression on XM. Seeking to push dance music beyond the airwaves, Victor took Future Progression to a new level by throwing his legendary New York City loft parties of the same name creating both an immense following in the club and on the air. Now a mainstay on the international club circuit, Dinaire has performed alongside the world's biggest DJs such as Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Infected Mushroom, Blank & Jones, Steve Porter, Junior Vasquez, John 00 Fleming, ATB, Flava Flav, and Judge Jules at events spanning Vietnam, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil. As an Eventvibe.com sponsored DJ and one of the main artists on the EV Music roster, Victor has become the definitive sound of trance in America. His latest radio show “Lost Episode,” reaches more people than any other DJ in the country at over 80 million homes and cars in America alone. Broadcast through XM Satellite Radio, Worldspace Satellite Radio, Music Choice TV, AOL Radio, ETN.fm, Digitally Imported (Di.fm), and syndicated across a multitude of FM stations worldwide, the show has brought trance music to the masses and spawned its own club nights at California hot spots Avalon in Hollywood and 4th and B in San Diego. Focusing on the future, Victor Dinaire has immersed himself in the studio with stunning results. His remixes of 'Clutch' (Ferry Corsten’s # 1 track of September 2008), ‘Sonora,’ ‘The Departure,’ and 'Fractured' along with the single 'No Way Through' have charted as some of the most popular tracks on Beatport and received massive support from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Sander van Doorn, Lange, Sean Tyas, Christopher Lawrence, The Thrillseekers and John Askew. Between the popularity of his original productions, the immense success of his radio show, and his critically acclaimed club nights, Victor Dinaire has remained at the forefront of the industry and established himself not only as a pioneer of dance music – but as one who pushes the boundaries everyday. Fans and enthusiasts worldwide have come to love the sympathetic Dutchman for his affectionate sound, unique productions and dynamic DJ sets, which have taken him from Mexico to Russia, and almost everywhere in between. And it's not just the fans that are moved by his work; avid followers include internationally renowned DJs such as Hernán Cattáneo, Sasha and Dave Seaman, who repeatedly drop his tracks in clubs and festivals around the world. Eelke's real breakthrough came in 2006 when Nick Warren included '8 Bit Era' on his 'GU 030: Paris' compilation. The attention from an international best-selling label also sky rocketed his DJ career, playing at massive events such as Moonpark in Buenos Aires, Dance Valley, Extrema Outdoor and Sensation to club gigs at the world famous Warung in Brazil and Privilege Ibiza. Throughout the years, Eelke's increasing profile has given him the opportunity to remix numerous well known acts and DJs, including Way Out West, Hybrid, Miss Nine and Sander Kleinenberg. His area of work extends well beyond the borders of conventional dance music however, having written music for clients such as NIKE & Joolz and often being credited as a mixing and mastering engineer for various artists and labels. Besides his work as a DJ and producer, Eelke also successfully runs the record label 'Outside the Box Music', launched in 2006. His similarly named radio show and podcast has grown into an internet sensation, reaching tens of thousands of people each month. On November 24th Eelke released his second artist album, 'Untold Stories', on Manual Music. The philosophy behind his second full-length album is that music should be continuous, an uninterrupted, emotional experience. Having written the album as one single piece instead of a collection of individual tracks, Untold Stories is truly Eelke's way of pushing boundaries with music. The album received great reviews and international DJ support by the likes of Hernan Catanneo and Nick Warren. With a second solo album released and an incredible amount of work to look back upon, Eelke Kleijn establishes himself not just as another producer or DJ, but as a modern day electronic composer.
