Leading the revolution in radical self-care with Latham Thomas Jul 06, 2020
    Show notes

Fact: In the United States, Black women die from pregnancy-related complications three to four times the rate of white women. This is true no matter how much money they make, how much education they have, or where they live. We should all be furious that Black women are dying from preventable pregnancy-related causes… and WE ARE.

Latham founded Mama Glow, a global women’s health and education brand serving women along the childbearing continuum. She is leading a revolution in radical self-care, guiding women everywhere to “mother themselves first,” and we’re grateful for her voice to help shed some light on these important topics on our show today!

Latham's newest book, Own Your Glow: A Soulful Guide to Luminious Living and Crowning the Queen was JUST released on paperback from Hay House on June 16th. Learn more, and connect with Latham: @mamaglow @glowmaven www.mamaglow.com

Learning To Chill the Eff Out While Still Slaying Life with Melissa Ben-Ishay Jun 29, 2020
    Show notes

These days, the four of us co-hosts find ourselves hopping on our #TeamOfftheGram group text to yell "SOS!!" with increasing frequency. We are living in such difficult times, and there should be no shame in waving the white flag and admitting overwhelm... so why is it so hard sometimes?

We're joined on today's show by Melissa Ben-Ishay, CEO of juggernaut sweets brand, Baked by Melissa cupcakes. After being fired from her advertising job back in '08 right in the midst of the recession, she decided to do something that made her feel happy rather than feeling sorry for herself. 10 years, 250 employees, 14+ retail locations, and a booming ecommerce business later, we know that Melissa - with her love of all things tie-dye & the Grateful Dead - is JUST the person we need to help us take pride in chilling the eff out in the pursuit of being our best selves!

Hitting “Reset” During COVID with ABC News’ Paula Faris Jun 22, 2020
    Show notes

One of the most fascinating byproducts of this crazy time has been the amount of people suddenly pressing “reset” on their entire lives, either by necessity or by happenstance. Maybe you were the family who fled New York City to avoid the virus epicenter, and discovered you have never been happier living in the country. Perhaps you’re the employee being furloughed, and took the time to write that book you’ve had in your head for years. Maybe you’re trying something else new, because…. well, why the heck not?

When the only thing that really matters anymore is our health, professional failings seem less scary in comparison. Many of us realized that things which previously seemed "impossible" - because we were all stuck in the confines of our job guardrails - might not be so impossible after all.

A lot of us have opened their minds to new possibilities. Many people are ready to take that “leap of faith” and do something that perhaps before seemed like it could only be a pipe dream.

Life seems more transient and unpredictable but for many, that’s actually opened up a world of options that never before existed. And since Paula Faris's new book is titled “CALLED OUT: Why I Traded Two Dream Jobs for a Life of True Calling,” we wanted to bring her here to help empower us all to hit the big ‘ole RESET button on our lives during this crazy time.

Three Cheers for Vaginas! Lo Bosworth on Modernizing (& Normalizing!) the Conversation Around Feminine Health Jun 15, 2020
    Show notes

When our mothers were young, saying the word “period” or talking about vaginal health in public was strictly taboo. Today, women practically insta-story from the bathroom (we’ve all seen it!), and the conversation around feminine wellness has become much more open. So why hasn’t the consumer category caught up?

In 2016, Lo Bosworth was coming off an amazing stint on the hit reality TV show, The Hills, but found herself suffering a personal health crisis that often manifested by affecting her intimate health. When drug store offerings failed her, she set out to discover a holistic approach, which ultimately led to the founding of her company, Love Wellness.

Lo joins us to talk about why it’s so important to modernize the way we approach this space, how stress & environment can affect our health… and why your vagina should never, ever have to settle!

Alexandra Jamieson and Bob Gower: How to NOT Get Divorced May 11, 2020
    Show notes

There are two popular “jokes” floating around about couples during COVID-19 shelter-in-place: 1. The next baby boom will be in approximately 9 months, and, 2. The divorce rates are going to SKYROCKET as soon as social distancing ends.

Since none of us would like to see our marriages and / or partnerships crumble under the enormous financial, physical and emotional stress that this pandemic can bring, we have decided to go to the experts. While these stressors *can* break the longest standing relationships, there IS opportunity to use them to make us stronger TOGETHER.

Tara Stiles: What does wellness look like in the time of COVID-19? May 04, 2020
    Show notes

With so many of us displaced from our homes, jobs, routines, and extended families, it can be hard to imagine prioritizing WELLNESS right now while many are simply aiming to SURVIVE. Despite what the rainbow, sparkly baths (that a #wfh parent could hardly dream of) filling our IG feeds may suggest, wellness doesn’t ever need to be picture perfect. In fact, wellness doesn’t have to LOOK like anything at all. Wellness is personal, and it is about how you FEEL. We are SO excited to have our amazing guest today here to speak with us about: finding ease during this crazy stressful time, what wellness can look like RIGHT NOW, and the future of wellness: the QUEEN of finding EASE herself, Tara Stiles!

Tara launches this amazing collaboration with her friend Ceizer to bring this Strala Yoga x Ceizer Feel Good Gang t-shirt to you to raise funds for the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership. GARDP mobilizes resources and partners to develop lifesaving treatments for drug-resistant infections. 100% of the profits of these shirts will go to GARDP to help save lives. Grab a shirt, grab one for a friend, share on social, and let’s do this together.

We are also joined by Jen Palmer from Charlotte's Web, the makers of our new favorite CBD products to discuss the benefits of using CBD oil, gummies, topicals, and more! Use code "OFFTHEGRAM" for 15% off your Charlotte's Web orders now!
