Special Lil Nouns Episode! Nov 21, 2022

Show notes

Welcome to the very first special episode of Odds & Ends. You know this show for casual interviews with amazing people, which we will continue doing; but we're branching out with the special episode, for a very special reason: We were funded .5 ETH to make this specific episode!!! Woooooo! How? Lil Nouns, that's how! Through an amazing program known as Prop House, 20 ideas were funded with 0.5 Ethereum to provide more exposure to the Lil Nouns brand. Now, this is semi-mind blowing for me, but with Moonbirds DAO coming soon, we feel that exposing more of our friends to DAO life is important. There are so many ways to get ideas funded and we've got them all linked in the footer notes. So, this special episode is literally brought to you by Lil Nouns, funding big ideas throughout the entire space... and yours could be next. You don't even need to own a Lil Noun to get an idea funded, you just need to add value to expanding the brand! In the episode, we run through every on-chain proposal that has been executed by Lil Nouns, starting with the most recent (thanks, Al!). It is a fun journey through the diverse projects and ideas that received funding, from a few ETH (thousands of dollars) to large sums that spun off into their own funding opportunities.
Our panel for this special episode consists of Ed and Al.

Al: https://twitter.com/7x7x7eth
They were both AMAZING and for those of you that follow through the episode, a hilarious gem awaits you towards the end as Ed had to deal with some irl nonsense, courtesy of his dog.
Thank you for listening. Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Getting to Know Emmitt Nov 14, 2022

Show notes

First and foremost, Emmitt is THE MAN!!! One of the kindest, most authentic, excellent person I've ever met. Damn it... doing this podcast is very cool for meeting people, I'm telling you! Disclaimer for this episode, Ed and I were so excited to jam with Emmitt, we dove right into talking about whiskey, art, travel, PROOF, FUD, and so much more. It was exceptional fun andddd a bit of a tease for Odd Spaces 4: Digital Identity, coming soon to a Twitter machine near you! Now, let's get to know Emmitt!
That episode was so damn fun and I'm literally hyped for Odd Spaces 4 with Emmitt, Ed, and more! This pod is brought to you by Proof of Update, Bit by Bit, and anything else Ed does because I love it. Also, our web presence is supported by Clarity Creative Group and getting a bit more movement in the near future, so if you like the show, tell a friend, leave us a review, or simply say HI in the Discord! Have a phenomenal week.

Getting to Know Victor Solomon Nov 07, 2022

Show notes

It's time for another episode of Odds and Ends and this time, it is the basketball episode!!! I had the absolute pleasure of talking all things basketball, NFT, and community building with the one and only Victor Solomon. Not only does Victor educate me on the myth behind the NBA logo, he graciously dives into his history as an artist, successful businessman, and literally got me hyped about the potential of his own project. And no big deal or anything... he designed the current trophies used by The Association... the one that Steph Curry was holding this summer... So damn cool. We talk about all that and our favorite basketball movies on this one and it was fun as hell. You won't hear Ed on this one, but he'll be back in action on upcoming episodes. Without further ado... let's get to know Victor...
I've got a smile goin' ear to ear after this one, my friends. Meeting people this way has been a true joy and I'm excited to keep it flowing. If you dig the podcast, please leave a review and share it with a friend. Jammin' with Victor was so fun even though I forgot to ask him if he played NBA Jam on Sega, which was a game I spent hundreds of hours dominating in the mid-nineties.... but I digress. There are more amazing episodes coming and in these weeks and months before Moonbirds DAO unveils, we will keep connecting with people from successful DAO projects to keep vibin', learnin' and making more friends. Have an epic week!

Getting to Know Al Oct 31, 2022

Show notes

Welcome to Odds and End, the DAO episode!
This episode with Al (https://twitter.com/7x7x7eth) was a delight to record, what a learning experience! Not only do I know way more fundamentals of how a DAO works, but found out that Al is a gamer, avid watcher of streaming series' but not movies, and passionate about Lil Nouns (https://lilnouns.wtf/) and his web3 journey. We got into the tech of it, which was very cool, but the whole concept of what is going on with Nouns and DAOs as a whole is incredibly interesting. Ed and I were soaking in all the knowledge because Moonbirds DAO is coming and the more you know... you know? Enjoy getting to know AL, LilNouns Resident, or as I call him, the DAOmaster.
Massive nounish thank you to Al for being our guest, Ed for being an amazing pod partner, and all of you for listening. I'm humbled by the opportunity to meet amazing folks and it is all because of you. This podcast is supported by Proof of Update (https://bitfloorsghost.substack.com/) and Clarity Creative Group (https://www.iwantclarity.com/), so you know it's allllll love. Getting to Know Neil Verni Oct 24, 2022

Show notes

Welcome to Odds and Ends, a Proof of Update podcast with Ed and Craig! We've got an exciting conversation ahead with Neil Verni. For 2 decades Neil has been a noteworthy leader in dealing top blue chip art spanning over 400 years from Rembrandt to Warhol. You may know him from his work with Art Group Projects but he can also be credited with his contributions to brokering over $20MM in legacy art deals. He holds a BFA from the Laguna College of Art and Design. Over the past year and a half, he has been fully immersed in identifying and investing in the leaders of the digital art movement by focusing solely on NFT’s. Let's get to know Neil!
Neil Verni is one of the most interesting and eclectic individuals that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I learned a ton from the conversation and BIG shout out to Ed for already being friends with Neil and bringing him to the show. Meeting amazing people has become my new favorite hobby! If you like the show, drop a review on your favorite listening platform. Of course, you can always check out past episodes here: https://www.iwantclarity.com/odds-and-ends-podcast/ if you want to get to know some more phenomenal folks. Getting to Know KC Oct 17, 2022

Welcome to another episode of Odds and Ends, a Proof of Update podcast. If you're not subscribed to Ed's newsletter yet... there's plenty of time! Follow Ed on Twitter (https://twitter.com/bitfloorsghost) and the subscribe link is in his profile. On today's episode, we had a delightful conversation with kc (https://twitter.com/kc_6666). Topics ranged from movies, of course, to how to establish a community online, which is really quite cool. kc is the founder of Nounities, the first community-organized group within Oddities. We've been affectionately calling these groups Squodds, but they are the mirror image of sub-parliaments in the Moonbirds ecosystem. To learn more about how kc did it, which may offer insight into how you might do it, keep listening!
Massive thank you to kc, Ed, and all of you for listening. If you enjoyed this podcast, give it a review on your favorite platform. We're on Apple, Spotify, Google, and more. If you're really feelin' it, share it with a friend, or reach out in Discord or on Twitter. Ed and I are having so much fun meeting people on this amazingly odd journey. Have an excellent week and we'll see ya next episode!

Getting to Know Mike Elf Oct 10, 2022

Show notes

Ladies and gentlemen, The music episode! You've heard Ed ask everyone about their favorite movies and we have that here as well, but in our amazing conversation with Mike Elf (https://twitter.com/theMikeElf), we went DEEP on all things music, from albums you really should add to your playlist all the way over to epic live shows. Of course, we touched on Mike's NFT journey, his artistic origins, and the upcoming GHOULS drop in partnership with the Dead Birds Society (https://twitter.com/deadbirds_io), a sub-parliament that he co-founded with a few fantastic humans. All in all, this conversation simply rocks, so slide on your headphones, and let's do this!
Vibes! Vibes! Vibes! BIG thank you to Mike for joining us and, as always, Ed for being excellent. I'm literally hyped to listen to some more friends' playlists from my time in this space. As promised, here is Ed's Retrowave playlist. Hit up Mike in Discord or Twitter and keep him accountable for getting us a playlist! He's been to some epic shows. If you think this show is on its way to being epic, why not give us a 5-star review in your favorite podcast app? Could be fun. Thank you so much for listening, enjoy the recommendations, and have a phenomenal week.

Getting to Know Justin Mezzell Oct 03, 2022

Show notes

Welcome to another episode of Odds and Ends, a Proof of Update podcast. This podcast is supported by the awesomeness of individuals in the communities we love, such as EightBit, Oddities, Dead Birds Society, Proof, and more! Today, you’ll get to know Justin Mezzell (https://twitter.com/JustinMezzell), the Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Proof, co-founder and lead artist for the Grim Syndicate on Solana, and simply an all-around nice person, attentive father, loving husband, and friend to the show. He opens up to Ed and Craig in ways you may only previously have seen within the token-gated Proof Discord, so we know you’ll enjoy this deep dive into the person that brought life to Moonbirds, one of the most popular NFT pfp projects in web3. Now, without further ado, say “hi” to Justin…
Big thank you to Justin for joining us on the podcast. It was incredible to get to know the person behind the bird or oddity picture on Twitter and Discord. While we’d seen him via Future Proof and other company-focused communication, this conversation was more about the man himself, rather than the fun things he’s built. We enjoyed learning about Justin and if you did too, please subscribe to the podcast and share it with a friend. Of course, if you’re able to leave a review, that’s even better! We hope that Ed and Craig will see you LIVE on either a Twitter Spaces or within the Oddities (https://discord.gg/proof) or EightBit (https://discord.gg/eightbit) Discord! Have a great week!

Getting to Know Ishita Sep 26, 2022

Show notes

Welcome to a special episode of Odds and Ends, brought to you by Proof of Update (bitfloorsghost.substack.com), the only daily newsletter you need for everything important in PROOF and beyond. In today's episode, I get to introduce Ed to Ishita (https://twitter.com/soulcurryart), an exquisite artist and friend I met over a year ago. Her work changed my perspective on art and in this very episode, she opens my eyes yet again, teaching us about her work and broader themes in a way that gets me hyped. Ishita's brand, Soul Curry Art (https://soulcurryart.com/) touches art within many mediums, from print to canvas to NFTs and more! Her work has been collected all over the world and Ed and I are fans, plain and simple. Friends, it's time you meet Ishita.
Can't thank Ishita enough for the conversation on all things art. I had no idea that Ed was going to purchase his first art NFT LIVE on-air. It was fantastic, fun, and something that hits home for me, because, as I mentioned in the episode, I found Soul Curry Art at a time when the pace of NFTland was nearly too much and Ishita's work grounded me. I'll always owe her for that! I loved that conversation and all these amazing people we get to speak with. If you're enjoying it, subscribe wherever you list to pods and leave us a review! Tell a friend! Why not? Don't forget to subscribe to Proof of Update, the best way to stay up to date on PROOF and more. Enjoy your week!

Getting to Know Phraze Sep 19, 2022

Show notes

This is a milestone! Welcome to our first, extra special, super jam-packed, birthday episode! That's right, it's my birthday today and my present to myself was having an epic conversation with Ed and Phraze (https://twitter.com/phrazeart), an epic person who engaged with us in a way that made time melt away. This is our longest episode yet because it is THE SNEAK PEAK episode, but also THE DAD EPISODE, but also the JAM-PACKED JAVA episode. Phraze is wonderful, Ed is ebullient, and I'm just over the moon that I get to connect with fantastic people, all the time. If you haven't yet, say hi on Twitter, I'm Classic_Craig or in the PROOF or EightBit Discords, where I hang out regularly. This Odds and Ends episode is brought to you by Proof of Update, your daily resource for timely, topical, and easy-to-digest web3 info. Plus, Ed did write it, so you know it's good. I hope you enjoy getting to know Phraze as much as I did.
Wow. Wow. Wow... the conversation with Phraze was simply next level. I feel like the connecting threads in our lives -- all three of us -- was just something special. Really, really, really loved getting to know Phraze and I hope you did too! If you liked the episode, perhaps drop a review, tell a friend, or just say hi in Discord or on Twitter. This has been Odds and Ends, a Proof of Update podcast, supported in part by Clarity Creative Group, Podcasting Done Right, and the sweet tea from Brambleberry Creek. Have an amazing week, everyone!
