    Show notes

We've made it. A bit later than usual (please accept our apologies) but Connectivity is here once again to fill your ears with lovely little bits of audio, hand crafted in our artisanal podcast studio. This week we have a few wonder little segments for your listening enjoyment. First off, Neal, Scott, Zach, and myself tackle some listener mail including the topic of the show's namesake: the GameCube Connectvity fad. After that, Carmine interviews independent game developer Jason Rohrer about his upcoming title, Diamond Trust of London. And finally, we close out the show with a good old fashioned round of Connectivity Jeopardy, which includes some trivia of E3s past, as well as a time capsule of classic Planet GameCube Trivia Night questions from 2002! Now that our mailbag is running on empty, why not help us out by submitting your questions to connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. Please also rate and review us on iTunes.

    Connectibites News Digest: May 24, 2012 May 24, 2012
    Show notes

James Dawson makes his News Digest debut as he joins Neal to talk about Ubisoft and why he doesn't care too much for them. Also, we journey down the rabbid hole to muse about Rayman, Assassin's Creed III, Killer Freaks from Outer Space, and Kingdom Hearts. We sojourn over to Layton Land and talk about the "well duh" reveal of a trademarked Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for 3DS. Then, the pair talks about this week's downloads, which is highlighted by a Game Boy Color game and an update to WayForward's MIghty Switch Force. Then Neal goes all crystal-ball-y and is just like "Man, Nintendo's presser is gonna be cray."

    Episode 35: Winner's Circle May 19, 2012
    Show notes

I'm not afraid to say it: this week's episode is real, real good. Starting things off, Neal and Patrick sit down with the winners of our Kid Icarus tournament, Team IcarusGAF, to talk about the tournament and its controversy. Yes, if you don't know about some of the underhanded events that went on, this will definitely surprise you. After that, Alex joins NWR/RFN newcomer Guillaume and the two debate the highs and lows of the Kirby series as a whole. Does the pink puff ball deserve to stand alongside the likes of Mario, Link, and Samus? Let us know what you think! Next, Nicholas brings us the first installment of his new segment, N-Focus. This week, he highlights the career of Koji Kondo, Nintendo composer extraordinaire. As an aside, this segment is seriously good. After the show proper, you'll find a bonus segment about Mass Effect 3 featuring Nate, Scott and friend of the show Sage Knox. The choice to listen or not is yours to make, but regardless the ending will be the same, so, you know, you should just listen. Got something you want to ask us? Send it to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. We like listener mail! Don't forget to check out our new, twice-a-week news show, Connectibites! We'll see you next week!

    Connectibites News Digest: May 18, 2012 May 18, 2012
    Show notes

Welcome to the next edition of Connectibites News Digest. In today's episode Neal is once again joined by Patrick to cover all the latest news. First up is a ton of news about Nintendo's downloadable services. We quickly discuss this weeks Nintendo Downloads as well as the possibility of Rayman Origins being distributed digitally. After all the downloadable news is over the Wii U becomes the topic of interest. We run down the rumored Wii U launch lineup, despite it looking very false, and the list of Ubisoft's Wii U games in development. As always, if you have any comments, questions, or just suggestions, feel free to write in.

    Connectibites News Digest - May 16 May 16, 2012
    Show notes

Neal and Patrick sleuth it up in this latest issue of Connectibites News Digest (yes, we have a name courtesy of The Famicast's James Charlton) as they try to figure out the case of the missing Capcom 3DS and Wii U games at E3. Next, they try to get to the bottom of Pikmin 2's June release in North America, while wrestling with the demons of Xenoblade's unreported North American sales numbers. After they solve the mystery of Order Up's North American delay to eShop, they talk about Jason Rohrer's Kickstarter and posit how trite LEGO Lord of the Rings sounds. Neal brings up the Nintendo-published Wii U and 3DS title LEGO City Stories in the eleventh hour, leading to a possible E3 sequel where the boys find out where the game has been since being announced during Nintendo's press conference last year. If you have any other crimes that need solving (or any comments/critiques/questions), feel free to write in. We love to hear from you.

    Episode 34: Mental For Wii U May 12, 2012
    Show notes

Hello, please have a seat. A pleasure to see you all once again! Welcome to episode 34 of Connectivity. This week's show is svelte, featuring two segments. First up, Scott, Mike, Andy and Zach talk about weird endings to old 90's sitcoms about dinosaurs... then they read listener mail! So, something for everyone. The gang tackles issues of digital download trepidation and how Smash Brothers can learn a thing or two from the old WCW wrestling games on the N64. First thing: the ability to make characters' faces bleed. After that, Carmine and Pedro join Scott and Zach to talk about Wii U hype, or lack thereof. The guys also talk about the system that had them freaking out in the past. How stoked are you, the fair listeners, for Wii U? Let us know! That'll do it for this week. Be sure to check out our twice-a-week News Digest show, in which we break the down the past few days' news in a timely manner. Hooray relevance! As always, you can click here to send us listener mail. We'll read it, I swear (probably) (well, maybe). Until next week.... Econom-tits!

On today's episode of the News Digest, Neal and Patrick get together to discuss all the latest news in the world of Nintendo. We cover the Wii U controller and price rumors that were buzzing around the web tonight (excite!). Next are Nintendo downloads (boo!), as well as news that the 3DS Virtual Console is actually receiving a new game next week (yay!). Avengers and Killer Freaks Wii U news almost closes out the discussion, but we finish strong with some very brief impressions on Mario Tennis Open. Make sure to leave a comment below to tell us what you think about this new show. Any suggestions, or even complaints about the format is completely welcome.

    News Digest - May 8 May 08, 2012
    Show notes

The second week of News Digest kicks off with Neal and our Euro Bro Daan Koopman talking about the Retro Studios and Star Fox Wii U rumor. Then we slide into some more rumor bait with a possible new Resident Evil 3DS game and Blockbuster UK's totally fake list of Wii U games. Neal impersonates Miyamoto and talks about how the Vita has no games, and then we finish it all up with a dose of XSEED and Shin'en. We welcome your questions/comments/critiques. We want to make News Digest as good as possible, and we only know it's quality if you speak up. Of course we're all going to tell each other it's good. We at Connectivity love patting each other on the back.

Episode 33: The Up to God Game May 05, 2012
    Show notes

Hi, and welcome to Nintendo World Report's Connectivity, Episode 33. Thanks to a brilliant invention known as a "news digest", we've already covered this week's news in previous, bite sized episodes. This leaves us plenty of room for some fun discussions. First, Neal, Josh, Danny, and Andy answer a listener's question about what their favorite import games. And in our second segment, Daan is joined by Pedro and Josh in a discussion of the Mario Party franchise, but mostly about the recently released Mario Party 9. If you enjoyed this episode, please help share us with the world. Tell your friends, and maybe leave us a glowing review on iTunes. Also, you can have your questions answered on the show by sending them to connectivity at nintendo world report dot com. See you next week.
