Episode 50: Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, etc. Sep 08, 2012
    Show notes

Oh, you're here! We're so glad you could make it to Connectivity's 50th episode bash. Drinks are over there by the window, and we're going to do cake after presents. Which, it looks like he is ready to open them now, shh, shh. There are three little ones from Zach, Scott, Neal, Patrick, Mike, and Lauren. Oh my gosh, it's three Star Fox 64 radio dramas! He is going to love those. Aww, how precious, he is more interested in playing with the wrapping paper. Kids, right? Oh this next one is a big one. Let me check the card... yeah, that's what I thought, this one is from Zach, Daan, Tyler, and Justin. Look at that, a game of NWR Jeopardy. He loves to play along with these and see if he can beat everyone's scores. The last one is from Neal, Scott, Patrick, and Andy. A game of Who Wants to be a Nintendoaire! I can't believe they were able to find one, these have been flying off the shelves. Click here to send us birthday cards and listener mail. Thanks to everyone who has listened to Connectivity (and Newscast before it). The response over the year(s) has been surreal. We can't say enough how much we love doing this show. Now, onward to episode 100!

    Episode 49: Rocket Man Sep 01, 2012
    Show notes

Prepare to blast off with episode 49 of Connectivity! First, we travel to a far and distant place called Australia, where Nicholas Bray and Andrew Brown probe the patrons of the Manifest anime convention to see how excited they are for Wii U. Unfortunately, Nick and Andrew's immune systems weren't used to the disgusting atmosphere of a convention, so both were defeated by the common cold. After that, Neal, Zach, and Scott receive cryptic messages from outer space in the form of listener mail. The signal seems to inquire about Nintendo picking up more western second party developers, what GBA and DS games a newcomer should play, and how more games can utilize asynchronous multiplayer. More importantly than all of that, though; the signal appears to be coming closer... Next, Nicholas Bray emerges from the TARDIS, fully regenerated and ready to host another one of his N-Focus segments, focusing this week on GoldenEye 007. 15 years after the game's release, Nick talks about the legacy of the game and shares some of his and other staffers' memories. He can't stay long, though, because the Daleks are afoot. After the outro, please stick around for a bonus segment all about space with Dr. Jonathan Metts. He answers a number of your questions, from the benefits of privatizing space flight to the effects of weightlessness on the body, before sharing an absolutely DELICIOUS recipe for his world (and beyond) famous moon cheese spread. The secret ingredient? Sage! That's it for this week's show. Click here to send us listener mail. Oh, and not to spoil anything, but next week's episode is number 50, and you can expect a lot of fun things then. So be sure not to voyage into deep space and accidentally stumble upon a portal to Hell before then. Toodles!

Episode 48: Doggy Dog World Aug 25, 2012
    Show notes

So we've got this podcast, Connectivity, and we sure do hope you'll listen to it. In order to entice you, let me explain this week's show just a little bit. First off, we've got a brand new segment for you. It's called "That Nintendo Year" and in it we chronicle an entire year's worth of Nintendo published games. We're starting off by going system launch years, and first up is 2006: The Year of the Wii. What was the rest of the year like? Listen and find out. Secondly, there sure is a lot of news going on right now, isn't there? We thought it'd be nice to go back to the show's roots and talk about all the crazy stuff that's been going on lately, and we answer some listener mail as well! So that's Connectivity, pretty good eh? Why not review it on iTunes if you have the time? Also, you can send us more listener mail to connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com

Episode 47: Let the Games Begin Aug 18, 2012
    Show notes

I present to you episode 47 of Connectivity, expertly crafted and aged to absolute perfection. In the first segment, we take the classic approach and talk about the games we've been playing lately. We follow that up with our second installment of Who Wants to be a Nintendoaire? I know you want to get some of that in your ears. If you're interested, stick around after the outro for a bonus segment on iOS games that we love. Also, please send us some listener mail to connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. We'll buy you a soda pop if you do. Heck, I'll throw in a slice of pizza if you also give us a review on iTunes! Call it the Connectivity Rewards Program if you want (I won't be).

    Connectibites News Digest: August 13, 2012 Aug 11, 2012
    Show notes

Neal wrangled Scott on down to the Connectibies 3DS Release Date Round-Up and the two of them hooted and hollered over the hootenanny that is the 3DS late 2012 lineup. The gang celebrate games they want, like Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, while lamenting the delay of Castlevania: Long-Ass Name 3D and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Shoot us a line on the e-mails if you want to check in with us on news stuffs or just how we're doing. We generally like people. We'll even field alternate subtitles for Paper Mario.

Episode 46: Too Much of a Good Thing Aug 11, 2012
    Show notes

Welcome to episode 46 of Connectivity, a podcast 65 million years in the making! We've got a dino-mite show for you this week. Leading the show off, Carmine, who recently attended the EA Summer Showcase, sits down with Neal to talk about the event. The pair discuss the relationship between Nintendo and EA before Carmine talks about his hands-on time with some upcoming Wii U games like FIFA 13 and Mass Effect 3. Let's hope the earth doesn't fall into an ice age, killing us all before the games come out! Next, Neal, Scott, Zach, and Mike debate the topic of Scott's recent editorial: are we suffering Mario fatigue? The gang talks about the Mario games of the 80's and 90's versus today, the quality of the New Super Mario Bros. series, and the future of 2D Mario. In the words of Dr. Ian Malcom: "You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you're selling it." After the outro, Zach finally gets to have his dinosaur segment. Since no one on staff is any way educated about dinosaurs, the questions instead come from forum users. Do fossil records indicate the evolution of the eye socket? Is there any science behind how we depict the colors of dinosaurs in pop culture? What's the biggest misconception about dinosaurs? Zach answers these questions and roar, er, more! If you have questions about video games, dinosaurs, or the career of Jeff Goldblum, you can send those to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. Have you also rated and reviewed us on iTunes yet? 46 episodes is a pretty good sample size! See you next week.
