Unbreakable Bonds: Parenting With Cancer and the College Send Off Aug 16, 2023

We did it! We dropped off our son at college. Lots of tears, but happy tears too! We share it all!

Cancer SUCKS in many, many ways, but what it does for the closeness of your family is pretty incredible. It united us, and we have this unbreakable bond. So there's nothing that will tear us apart, not even drop off at college.

One of the gifts of cancer. So it wasn't "goodbye," but "see you soon."

In this episode, we talk about funneling your feelings and how it helps to relieve fear after a diagnosis!

Journaling has been my lifeline throughout this entire journey, helping me process my emotions and maintain my sanity. Reading back a couple of my initial journal entries after receiving the diagnosis of breast cancer brings back vivid memories.

During those early days, fear consumed me, often keeping me awake at night. At the crack of dawn, I would find solace in journaling, pouring my emotions and feelings onto the pages. It proved to be an immensely therapeutic experience, allowing me to organize my thoughts and find a sense of calm amidst the storm.

I'd love to share some of those early journal entries to provide insight into how this practice has been instrumental in my healing process.
