    Welcome to New Day with Sybil Amuti (formerly The Great Girlfriends Show), an oasis where we begin again with courage. I’m Sybil Amuti, a passionate Christian, wife, mom, sister, friend, dog lover, and a woman who has spent the last decade building communities, teaching women how to sharpen their success toolkit, and doing the real work of growth in public. I love God and His people, and I bring that love into this space with clarity, conviction, and care so you feel seen, supported, and strong enough to move.

    Here, I share hard-won breadcrumbs from my journey and sit down with extraordinary humans who are walking their evolution out loud. Together we trade practical wisdom, real-life resources, and fire-tested, proven solutions you can actually use to begin again boldly.

    How I Overcame Addiction with Samantha Thomas Apr 12, 2023

    Three million US citizens and 16 million individuals worldwide have had or currently suffer from opioid use disorder (OUD).
    We all know someone who has been affected by the pain of addiction, and our guest today is no stranger to that story.
    For 15 years, Samantha Thomas struggled with addiction to pain killers, numbing her mind and emotions after having a traumatic experience in college. What was a temporary prescription became an unshakeable addiction that Samantha had to fight to survive.
    Now, Samantha is five years sober and sharing her story with the hopes that someone listening can overcome addiction or help a great girlfriend along the way.

    We’ve all experienced brain fog and fatigue after eating a heavy meal, but we also know the energy and zest we feel after making great food choices.
    Food is the key to exposing who we are on the inside and whether or not we’re serving our bodies with the nutrients that they need.

    About Dr. Uma Naidoo
    Michelin-starred chef David Bouley described Dr. Uma Naidoo as the world’s first “triple threat” in the food and medicine space: a Harvard trained psychiatrist, Professional Chef graduating with her culinary schools’ most coveted award, and a trained Nutrition Specialist. Her nexus of interests have found their niche in Nutritional Psychiatry. Dr. Naidoo founded and directs the first hospital-based Nutritional Psychiatry Service in the United States. She is the Director of Nutritional and Lifestyle Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) & Director of Nutritional Psychiatry at MGH Academy while serving on the faculty at Harvard Medical School.
    She was considered Harvard’s Mood-Food expert and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal.

    Cassandra Cummings is a powerhouse in the personal finance space who is dedicated to financial and investment literacy. She has helped more than 100,000 Black women invest over $25 million in the stock market through her guidance and education as the founder of The Stocks & Stilettos Society.
    She’s an investment and wealth strategist who has created The Stock Success Circle, to help women with the fundamentals of investing and taking their investing game to the next level. Recently, she founded the Queens of Capital, where she helps women shift their money mindset and increase their overall net worth with investment opportunities by investing in themselves.
    Cassandra has been featured in Essence,The Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise, Business Insider, BuzzFeed, and US News & World Report, and has been on The Breakfast Club and Houston’s NBC affiliate, KPRC.
    Cassandra earned her degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and her Certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. She currently lives in Northern California.

    According to the Gemini State of Crypto Report, bitcoin was initially built around encouraging financial equity, but 75% of crypto holders are men. Moreover, 60% of crypto investors are white men under the age of 45 – creating an uninviting culture that gatekeeps women from participating in the $2.2 billion crypto industry.
