Most of my life I was very successful. I was a doctor seeing patients by the time I was 25. I immediately started a parallel career doing advertising consulting for industry. I recall writing a proposal right out of graduate school for more than $50,000. I couldn’t believe I got it, and they actually sent the check…
In my 30’s I built a practice in a NYC suburb doing child and family therapy. I both loved what I was doing and was overloaded with clients within 18 months. Then I invented a research protocol and sold a project based upon it to Bausch and Lomb for about $1,000,000, all things considered. You might say I had a Midas touch in my youth.
But when I was 37 that all changed. A drunk driver hit my car and caused an undiagnosed injury that led to a decade of migraines if I worked too long on the computer. And unbeknownst to me I also had undiagnosed Lyme Disease which made treating the migraines next to impossible…
Finally, the money from the big project was then invested in building the fanciest, most modern, most technologically up to date focus group facility on Long Island. I hired approximately 20 people to run it and we took on a monthly nut of about $150,000.
And then 9/11 happened, and the facility was just outside NYC. NOBODY wanted to fly to New York to do research anymore. Internet streaming was coming into vogue and the big companies took to it like flies to honey. No reason to send their employees across the world anymore to watch focus groups. But we had a 10 year lease, had invested a fortune getting started, and were essentially dead in the water.
That fiasco went on for two years, eating up every last financial reserve. The loss was roughly $2,000,000, and the funny thing about losing $2,000,000 is that it’s NOT like losing your car keys. You don’t have to HAVE $2,000,000 to lose $2,000,000. When the dust settled, I had to pay back $700,000 in debt.
In the meantime, I gained a LOT of weight and made myself even sicker looking for solace in pizza, chocolate, and Pop-Tarts (this was in the pre-Never Binge Again era).
I became fat, sick, and broke…
When I could’ve just been broke!
Moreover, I could’ve handled all the vendors screaming for money, the incredible stress of having to let go of treasured employees, the constant fights with my ex-wife at the time…
I could’ve handled it ALL so much better if I were only broke…
Without Pig Slop constantly running through my veins…
And without having to carry the burden of an extra 60 to 80 pounds around with me on top of the money worries!
And you know what? There were NEVER any men in white suits with mustaches who came to take away my house, my car, my computer…
OR my healthy food options and my treadmill.
And that’s the lesson I’d like you to take away!
You don’t have to get fat, sick and broke. In fact, if you stay away from Slop you’ll probably have more presence of mind and capability of dealing with the concrete financial issues in the first place! So you probably won’t even go broke.
But even if you do, I can tell you from experience it’s about a billion times better to just be broke vs. fat, sick, AND broke. (It took me a few years to take the weight off for good, and the blood lipid issues interfered with diagnosing the real problem with the migraines)
LAST THING: Overeating contributes significantly to most people’s financial stress without them realizing it’s happening! For example, in our reader survey with hundreds of respondents, we found the average person spends about $18 on binge food, and has an overeating “episode” approximately 20 times per month. That’s $360/mo. or more than $4,300 per year going out the window (or into their mouths). Do that for five years and you could buy a car. Do it for a lifetime and you could buy a house. Ouch!
But the typical participant who engages with our program (definition on site) gets a 91% reduction in binge frequency the very first month! When you look at it that way, our program pays for itself before you know it… AND then starts putting money back into your life month after month!
It’s no wonder since as of today the program includes daily email accountability, 5x/week LIVE support groups (I run two of them personally), consultation coupons good for a one-on-one session with both myself and my business partner, a 45 day, step-by-step mastery challenge, and much, much more! Click here now to read more… but hurry please because we often sell out of space before the enrollment deadline.
