[Unsolved] Bianca Carrasco: Missing Mother Mar 05, 2024

Show notes

On May 1, 2016, Bianca Carrasco, a devoted nurse and mother of three, vanished from San Antonio, Texas.

Bianca failed to show up for work, which was completely out of character for the responsible and caring 29-year-old. When investigators talked to Bianca's husband Daniel, they became suspicious of his inconsistent story about his wife's disappearance.

Born in Odessa, Texas, on July 21, 1986, Bianca grew up with her older sister Jovanna. Despite a difficult childhood, Bianca was determined to build a better life for herself and her three children.

Bianca was a hardworking nurse who loved her kids more than anything. Her family and friends knew something was terribly wrong when she didn't show up for work.

Nearly eight years later, investigators are still waiting for new leads or information to emerge. No one has been arrested in connection with Bianca's disappearance.

Thank you to both Julie for taking the time to speak with us about Bianca, and to the Murder Diaries who graciously shared their research with us to help create this episode.

If you have any information about Bianca Carrasco's disappearance, please contact the San Antonio Police Department.

[Florida Files] Beverly McGowan: Killed by her Roommate Feb 27, 2024

Show notes

On July 19, 1990, a couple exploring near a canal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, made a horrifying discovery: the dismembered body of a woman, with her head and hands removed.

The victim was Beverly McGowan, a 34-year-old Philadelphia native who had been living and working in Fort Lauderdale. Beverly was a quiet, hardworking woman who kept to herself and was considered a workaholic by those who knew her.

Beverly's throat had been slit, and her killer had crudely dismembered her body with a machete in an attempt to conceal her identity. The only identifying mark left on her body was a small yellow rose tattoo on her ankle.

The investigation led to Elaine Parent, a con artist and identity thief who had befriended Beverly and then brutally murdered her before fleeing to London using a stolen identity.

Elaine's pattern of stealing identities, manipulating victims, and evading law enforcement made her one of the most dangerous criminals Florida had ever seen.

This is the story of Beverly McGowan—a woman whose trust was betrayed in the most horrific way—and the relentless pursuit of her killer.
