    Connecting Michigan Clinicians with Pediatric and Perinatal Mental Health Resources May 13, 2022

    The Michigan Child Collaborative Care Program, or MC3, is a statewide program connecting primary care providers with psychiatrists and behavioral specialists for consultations and training to support their ability to provide mental health care in their clinics. Sheila Marcus, MD, heads the pediatric component of MC3 and is a professor of psychiatry at Michigan Medicine. Marcus joined Michigan Minds to talk about the importance of providing pediatric and perinatal mental health support across the state of Michigan and explain how MC3 is working to do just that.

    Nursing & Mental Health: Balancing Stressors, Stigma & Health May 12, 2022
    Show notes Christopher Friese, PhD, joined Michigan Minds for the National Nurses Week Special Series. Friese is a professor at the U-M School of Nursing and the director of the Center for Improving Patient and Population Health (CIPPH). His research focuses in two areas—measuring and enhancing the quality of cancer care delivery, and understanding and improving the delivery of nursing care to a variety of patients. His research findings were among the first to establish a significant relationship between favorable nurse practice environments and lower surgical mortality.
