Your TRIPOD skills need more TRIPOD skills Jul 06, 2023

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

Tyler & Jeph discuss techniques they've seen applied to utilizing a tripod as a shooting support that make them cringe. Why fight the tripod. Why not set up in the position you want. What are these paint marks on legs and why are they not a good idea. Living life on a tripod can be fruitful but too many times we see shooters not understanding what they're doing but rather going through the motions of a half assed technique someone showed them or they've seen on social media. Remember, fundamentals will always be the foundation. But, techniques, gear, etc will change and evolve. Don't get stuck living a decade or two ago. Seek improvement every day.

Tyler and Jeph discuss a Direct Message received regarding how to improve during competition. Skill. Mental management. Efficiency. Wind Call. Corrections. It all adds up. To improve you must have data. Identify strengths and weaknesses. What kind of data you say? Positions. Wind Calls. Mental mistakes. where are you hemorrhaging impacts. Then you can decide how to improve. And as always learn from other peoples success and failures.

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

The team digs into the LE Modernization Training session, from beginning to end, the good, and the ugly. Areas of improvement as well as areas of greatness. This was a solid training session that honed in on specific skills sets as the primary focus of this month. Tripod. Wind Calls. Barricade. Fundamentals. And a great conversation about movers and how to engage them. Are you making these same training errors as an individual or LE Sniper?

Don't be dumb. It's only a moving target. May 25, 2023

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

This week the guys talking moving targets. Whether you're military, LE, or a hunter assuming you're good to go because you have a cheat sheet for movers is a nice lie you've been telling yourself. Simplification. Knowing how it works and what you're calculating. Understanding movements and not MPH. A real hunter, Sniper, will not need a cheat sheet because they're training has lifted them to a level of understanding and enhanced capability. The two also discuss holding from center versus holding from lead edge. One is right and simple, the other is complicated, difficult and should not be used if you're engaging a moving target with any worth. Long Formula. Short Formula. Its all here for this juicy episode that will have you learning as well as understanding WHY.

The Great Disconnect... MOA vs MRAD May 19, 2023

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

Another week! Another episode! This week Tyler & Jeph hit on Minutes of Angle versus Mil-Radian. After viewing a post and reading the comments, it was a discussion that needed to be had regarding the two Angular Units of Measure and the commons misconceptions and lack of understanding amongst most of the shooters. MRAD and Yards. MOA and Meters. Who cares! Math? What friggin math? Clearly some items need to be cleared up. Then quickly somehow Tyler ropes Jeph into discussing digital coins and investments before talking about realistic training. Been hit in the face lately? You may want to consider this as well as the training youre signing up for when it comes to ArCon aka non compliant subjects. Some courses leave you with that superman feeling and it would suck to have to Eff around and find out in the real world.

VICTORY loves PREPARATION May 10, 2023

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

This week Tyler & Jeph discuss the current URBAN SNIPER course Tyler is instructing for USMC Snipers. The recent qualification they just went through, how Tyler performed, to include wagers or friendly patch trading bets to motivate the Marines to try harder, focus deeper. During the qualifications, the stress levels are high, so the duo digs in to why, why so high, why do some people love the pressure, while others crumble? Which leads us to "Victory loves Preparation"! The more prepared you are, the easier it is to perform or shrug off small mistakes in lieu of the bigger picture and goal.
