    About Cendea
Cendea is an intriguing mix of innovation and the tried-and-true, and best known for our high touch approach. Our partners’ careers started at firebrand companies like PC’s Limited and Federal Express, better known to the world these days as Dell and FedEx. While innovation has been at the core of these brands, we believe that it takes persistence, depth and execution to truly differentiate from the rest of the field. We don’t see walls, we see solutions. We’re national in scope, but proudly Austin-based and in our 25th year of becoming a key Partner for companies to recruit the right people to maximize their organizational results. We help navigate through this critical process because we have all been executives in multiple industries. We mix the traditional and the innovative…for positive results. That’s what we’re good at!
About Wade H. Allen – President & CEO

His 30+ years range from Fortune 50 to start-ups and turnarounds where he has personally helped drive company growth by applying his executive management experience. Wade holds an Executive MBA from the University of Texas as well as an MEE and BSEE from Rice University.
About Jim Bledsoe – Senior Partner

The New Networking for Business Jun 25, 2019
    Show notes

Thom Singer wrote his first book, "Some Assembly Required: How to make, grow, and keep your business relationships" in 2005. The book sold well and helped him launch a successful speaking career.
But since that time the world has changed. Facebook and LinkedIn barely existed, YouTube was founded the same year. Twitter as still a year from its release, and Instagram was 5 years away. Since his book came out, networking for business has changed.
    Or has it?
The more things have changed, the more many things have stayed the same.
In episode 470 of "Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do" Thom Singer talks about how he has revisited his views on networking and building relationships. The tools that exist today have changed the game, and this has caused him to rewirte all his speeches to be relevant in 2019 and beyond.
But much of the message is the same. People are still people and we get opportunities from other humans, not from likes or links.
Listen to this episode and hear his review of his own book, but also the 5 key points that matter now:
    1. Be relevant in your community
    2. Its not about numbers, the quality relationships are where the opportunities come from
    3. You are always being watched and reviewed. You are always "on", as people can find information about you in all areas of your life.
    4. Choose people. There are times to put the electronics down and engage.
    5. There is not online networking and face-to-face networking. There is only "Networking". Combine it all as one.
