A Pep Talk For Women Part 1 with Kristen Tucker, Cindy Williams, and Laura Dudek This is a very special episode where we are going to start introducing all of the featured speakers of the upcoming Created Order Conference. I am so excited because I have been dreaming about this conference for years and it is finally happening. I am so grateful and thrilled to introduce to you each of our speakers that will be taking the stage at the event on June 28th and 29th in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We are thrilled to go back to Charlotte. My family and I used to live there for five years. My daughter was born there and we have decided to choose Charlotte as the city that is going to launch the Created Order Conference. It is going to be amazing!

The conference is all about how to recognize and eliminate the clutter that is getting in the way of your God-given purpose. I always say clutter can be anything from stuff to death to excess weight, to baggage from relationships or your inability to think clearly. Once that clutter is uncovered and removed, it’s so much easier to get your life organized in a way that frees up space, time, energy and money and who doesn’t need more space, time, energy and money in their life?

If you haven’t already heard me get into that topic because I’m super passionate about teaching women how to free up space, time, energy and money, go to episode 36 after you listen to this show today. Created Order is all about being intentional with your life. You will walk away from this event extremely motivated and prepared to make a major change. You’ll not only be fired up to see this journey through but will know how to achieve it. You will know how to get your life organized. You will know how to clear clutter and you will begin to realize that each and every one of us was put on this planet for a specific purpose that God had in mind and we want you to find out what that purpose is and start living it every single day. If you have not heard about Created Order, you need to go to my website right now, JenniferFordBerry.com/Created-Order-Conference and check it out.

Faith, Obedience and Motherhood with Angie Smith Mar 21, 2019
    Show notes

While pregnant with their daughter, Audrey, Angie Smith and her husband, Todd, was told by the doctors that she would not survive. Angie began blogging to cope with the hurt and to update friends and family as they went through those difficult days, which eventually became a way to share her faith and her heart and resonate with those who had experienced a similar loss. Angie is a speaker, a best-selling author, and a blogger. She writes Bible studies, adult and children’s books including Seamless, For Such a Time as This, Chasing God, Mended, and What Women Fear. She joins us in this episode to talk about motherhood, women reaching out to other women, being obedient to God and our calling, finding our own identity and authenticity, and overcoming grief with the loss a child

    Watch the interview here

Of Faith, Obedience and Motherhood with Angie Smith I’m super excited to have my guest on, Angie Smith. She is an author, speaker and she writes Bible studies. Her mission in life is to make the Bible relevant to us. We are going to jump right in, Angie. Tell us a little bit more about you. Do you live in Nashville?

I do. I live 30 minutes South of Nashville. It’s called Franklin. It’s a sweet town. We got over some major flooding. I have four living daughters. The identical twin girls are sixteen years old, the other is thirteen, and the last is eight.

Can we please talk about driving because I have a seventeen-year-old? It’s been six months since she got her license. The day she got her license, I said to the guy that did the test, “Now, what do we do? We let her drive wherever she wants. What do parents do?” He goes, “The smart ones don’t.” We made her drive from our house to school for a few months. We live five minutes away from school. She had to take her brother who is turning fourteen. She graduated to driving to the next town where there’s stuff to do about ten minutes away. Honestly, I can’t picture the next step.

They have rules. Ours is super weird rules. You can only drive if you have a parent in the car and you can only have one sibling. You’d have to write a note. It’s a lot of steps. We didn’t ever have that, but it’s good.

There’s a lot of rules here. You can’t drive after 9:00 if you don’t take driver’s education. You’re not driving after 9:00 anyways.

If I need something from the grocery store, then we’re going to take our chances because I’m not driving.

We do live close to the grocery store, and I do use that a lot. When she got her license, I told her, “I’ve dreaded this day since you were born.” She started laughing and I said, “I’m dead serious.” They don’t get it. We tell them why we’re scared. We have snow and deer that come on the roads.

When I started driving, my parents had no way to get ahold of me. I could be out, and be two hours late and I get home and I’m like, “Dad, why are you frustrated?” I’m looking back, and I’m like, “How did we do that? How did my parents do that?”

Getting Organized with a Fellow Professional Organizer Mar 06, 2019
    Show notes

While trying to figure out how to be a freshman in college, Layne Brookshire would spend her idle time organizing her space. That habit spilled out when she would go to other people’s dorms or houses where she would do the same thing. Layne is a professional organizer and the founder of Ms. Placed Professional Organizing in Austin, Texas. She says organizing brought her a lot of inner peace calmed her anxiety over roommates, tests, and a lot of other things. After noticing that an organized space helped her focus and study, it became apparent to her that your environment has a huge impact on your productivity and your ability to rest in the space. Layne tells the whole story of how she catapulted into organizing and lets us into the importance of living life with intention, teaching your kids to be diligent with their own possessions, and when the best time is to get a professional organizer.

That is awesome for everyone that’s out there. Go ahead on your phone and grab her Instagram and you will be able to see the cutest spread of pictures. She’s very color coordinated and automatically you go to her Instagram and you think this girl’s got her organizing going on. I’m glad that you mentioned that. We’re so glad you’re on the show, Layne. I appreciate your time.

    Thanks for having me.

A lot of times, I find in this world of professional organizing that it comes naturally to us and it seems like we were born this way or we have always loved organizing. It’s funny because the longer you do it, you realize that not everybody thinks about organizing the same way as we do. Go ahead and tell the audience why you got into organizing, how long you’ve been doing it and why you started it?

Your environment has a huge impact on your productivity, your ability to rest in the space.Click To Tweet

A huge network of professional organizers that are my actual friends too. It’s so funny how the world works and we’d become internet friends first before we meet in person. I have a big pool of people that are my friends that are organizers. A lot of people do have that story where we’re always organizing when they were kids. That was not me and my parents would say that too. I’m honest that my room was a mess but I would get to the point, where I felt overwhelmed and then I would do a total clean sweep. It always started in the closet. I would organize it in a way where I can hang out in there like the clubhouse when I was younger.

When I went to college, I started dealing with real-life anxiety and depression. I didn’t think about it at the moment but what I noticed I did with my idle time is that I would organize my space. I would reorganize it. It brought me calmness when I was trying to figure out how to be a freshman in college. I’m trying to figure out how to be no longer the big fish in a little pond. Who am I going to be outside of what my family is and what I did in high school and all this other stuff? I noticed that’s how I spent my time organizing.

When I’d go to other people’s dorms, houses or whatever, I start doing the same thing because it brought me a lot of inner peace.
