I had a fascinating conversation with fellow astrologer Nate Speare about performance, and performance’s connections to psychological/emotional range, magic, and charisma. I wanted to talk to Nate because when I see his astrology updates on social media, they are transmission-like, where he uses different sounds, and voices, and theatric elements essentially, to convey the feeling tone of the transits he is describing. I felt that there was probably something really interesting and thoughtful behind that process and how he developed that theatric vocabulary, and I wasn’t wrong :)
Nate Speare is an astrologer, vocal artist, storyteller, mythologist, and educator. He comes from a line of astrologers and sound/music composers who used natural environmental sounds and the connection between sound, the natural environment, and the characters within the earth and sky. He offers consulting sessions, writes essays, tells stories and uses his voice in videos and live performance as an active representative of the world to re-ignite a sense of magic in every client. It is his aim to connect each person to the idea that they are not blank slates, but that they entered the world with their own "daimon" and irreplaceable style of talented genius with inspiring and definite directions in life. As an astrologer, Nate has studied under Jungian psychological and evolutionary astrologer Montgomery Taylor, and is influenced by Archetypal, Shamanic and Renaissance schools of astrology. Nate directs Mythopoetic Astrology, a consulting practice that integrates experiential therapy of astrology through Astro-Drama, voice, sonic art and client consulting. His teaching credits include Salem Summer Symposium (Massachusetts) Myth and Theatre Festival (France), and Jung Institute NYC. Nate is a collaborator of PanTheatre, the France-based cultural organization that researches the relationship between contemporary performance, mythology, and the archetypal psychology of James Hillman, the company's Honorary President. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, where he is also the co-artistic director of Nekyia Theatre.

On episode 61, I had fellow astrologer and friend Bear Ryver on the show to philosophize about reincarnation. I really enjoyed this conversation and the sense of timelessness and reverie that it opened up - from discussing reincarnation, meeting people again in this life we’ve met before, spiritual transformations that emerge from romantic and erotic longing, dreaming - and astrology. We traveled to some places so it’s a two part episode! Part one of this episode focused on reincarnation through the lens of Venus and Mars, and in this part two of the episode we shared our thoughts on reincarnation through the lens of the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Bear Ryver is an Intersectional Astrologer and Reiki Master, winner of the Organization for Professional Astrology’s Most Promising Astrologer Scholarship 2018. He offers private consultations internationally, including his signature Astrohealing Sessions, through his practice Psyche & Soul Astrology. With a background in anti-oppression activism and organizing, his astrological research integrates Mundane, Evolutionary, Modern, and Traditional schools of thought and explores the intersections of power, privilege, and politics as seen in the chart. His mission is to help his clients remain grounded and empowered while they accelerate their growth.

On episode 59:
✨🔮✨ We are at a convergence of past and future this week: the collective is being invited to consider history. Sidelined, untold, ignored, suppressed, marginalized narratives of history are being brought to the forefront with the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Collective, social conversations have moved toward discussing systemic racism and the ways in which these societal power dynamics have been internalized in individual psyches.
Simultaneously, Mars and Neptune join up in Pisces, bringing up a field of envisioning the future. Together, Mars and Neptune can represent visionary action, but also feelings of hopelessness or despair that one might have when considering a massive journey ahead that one is not sure they are capable of winning.
Sometimes we need to feel despair, but there are also times we cannot afford for despair to be a pool we pull our actions from – a pot of ink we are dipping a pen into that we are writing our future with.
We instead must access a vision and find a real sense of courage in our hearts to believe in that vision, and from this place unconditionally act in alignment with vision.

Episode 58 is a deeper invitation into sensing and perceiving the interconnectedness of all things - from the connection between celestial and earthly events, from ecology and sexuality, between our lives and the evolution of the cosmos. I interviewed Michael J. Morris, and we discussed astrology, ecosexuality, Black Lives Matter and liberation. I said it a few times in the episode but the conversation was literally psychedelic in feeling to me. Michael speaks to us of *connection* and is themselves, such a connector and I am really excited to bring you this conversation.
Michael J. Morris is a writer, an educator, a facilitator, an artist, a witch, an astrologer, and a tarot reader who supports folks in making meaning of their lives as a practice of personal and collective healing and liberation. They have a consulting practice called Co Witchcraft Offerings, and they are also a Visiting Assistant Professor at Denison University where they teach in Women’s and Gender Studies, Queer Studies, and Environmental Studies. They hold a PhD in Dance Studies from The Ohio State University, and they bring decades of experience in movement and somatic practices, feminist and queer theory, and critical theories of embodiment to their work in astrology, tarot, and ritual. They are a practitioner of yoga, butoh, and reiki, all of which inform their approaches to healing and liberation.

Episode 57 is for you if you have a brand or are thinking of having one! If you have a business or a project you are wishing to bring into the world (or further, if it already exists), learning how to write copy is so important. Learning how to communicate your offering, and what problems you may solving, and how to communicate specifically to the people you intend to work with, are all bridges that take your talents and ideas into manifestation in the world.
I interviewed Gio Marcus, a professional writer, about her journey of going professional in a field that people say is hard to be successful in. Despite the narratives around her that it wasn’t possible, she persisted. We also talked about what forms compelling copy, and the process by which the personal brand becomes a vehicle for growth of the personal self. Gio is an awesome writer and teacher, and I’m excited to share this conversation with you!
Gio Marcus is the founder of CopyMafia, a “copywriting studio” that gives business owners tools to write dazzling copy that leads to brand fanaticism, natural alignment, and financial reward to follow. She’s worked with Tony Robbin's team as well as with Deepak Chopra’s, and her clients are found on Oprah, The TODAY Show, Goop, Martha Stewart Living, The New York Times, CNN, Elle, Marie Claire, USA Today, People, MindBodyGreen, ABC News, Good Morning America, CBS News, NBC, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, HSN.com, and more. She’s written for 8 New York Times bestsellers, countless Amazon.com bestsellers, and one of her clients was nominated for an Oscar award. Today, she focuses on sharing her copywriting and marketing expertise with big-hearted brands that have an important message to bring to the world through one-on-one coaching and group classes.

On episode 56:
Mercury enters Cancer this week and we have a more dramatic transit of Mars in Pisces squaring retrograde Venus in Gemini. Hard aspects between Venus and Mars can be dramatic because they bring up active tensions and conflicts in relationship, and with Venus also being retrograde this can also intensify the quality of shifts happening in our relationships. Likewise, Venus-Mars contacts can also heighten attraction, as well as the courage to engage in courtship
*Meant to say "musical chairs" not "magical chairs" in the recording :)

On episode 55, I had a conversation with Téo Montoya of Human Design Readings about human design, which is a channeled system that offers people insight into their unique makeup and strategy for life.If you haven’t heard of Human Design, you can look up your human design chart at jovianarchive.com . This episode is directed at people new to human design or anyone who just wants more perspective on the human design aura types: human design is a fairly complex system and in this episode we focused on the basics of the different types - generator, manifesting generator, projector, reflector, and manifestor. So if you don’t already know your human design type, you can go look it up at jovianarchive.com.. and maybe dive down a research rabbit hole after this episode!
Téo Montoya is a Lipan Apache(Ndé) Writer and Human Design Analyst. He was first initiated into the Human Design system 7 years ago by his mentor Jagruti, who was taught by and worked with the Human Design founder Ra Uru Hu. In 2019 Teo launched his HumanDesignReadings business, and began formally holding both foundational and advanced sessions. He synthesizes the archetypal underpinnings of depth psychology, jungian studies, and Process Work with the human design system, focusing on helping others embody and live out the story of their unique archetypal blueprint.

On episode 54:
We’re making magic this week when we engage with the generation of novelty. The Sun enters Gemini, and all of our exact transits this week (save for a Mars-Uranus sextile at the end of the week) involve aspects to the Sun, Mercury, and Venus which are all in Gemini, and we’ve got a New Moon in Gemini! Not only this, but there is a stellium of Venus, Mercury, fire and temple priestess Vesta, and the North Node of the Moon in Gemini. This translates to poet-priestess-magician energy flooding the planet this week, and we can tap in by doing something magical with our word.

On episode 53, Arakai Moon and I have a conversation about daily self-pleasure 🌺 to kick off this Venus retrograde. I think of Venus retrograde as an evolution and internalization of the Venus principle, and self-pleasure is one way that we can deepen our relationship with ourselves. Arakai was on this podcast earlier (ep 31 and 32) where we discussed the Taurus/Scorpio axis as a tantric axis.
Arakai Moon of Star Siren Astrology is a shamanic bodyworker and evolutionary astrologer, whose finesse in working with and naming subtle energy is truly inspiring - she and I met for the first time at last year’s Northwest Astrological Conference, and talked deep into the night, realizing that we had a connection - and not only had we been immersed in the same vein of astrology for years but we’d both come into contact with our own power through very Plutonic experiences in 2012 when Pluto squared our Suns. Arakai spent 6 years in the jungles of Costa Rica, merging deeply with the land, plants and animals, and I think you will soon tell from tuning into her presence just how truly enchanting and perceptive she is.
