176: The ins and outs of colonics with Zhenya Gerson Mar 08, 2020
    Show notes

In this week's show as a part of our health series, we're talking to Zhenya Gerson about poop - specifically in the context of colonics and enema, with a practitioner who has multiple top doctors referring to her here in Sydney. There's a lot of fear and stigma around using colonics, so I thought I'd get the low down - and yes, everything seems to have a double entendre right now! We talk about colonics, when they're for, how often to get them, who shouldn't get them, whether kids can do them, the difference between colonics and enema and whether to source a place that allows you to be in the room alone or with a therapist guiding you. If you've been wondering about the benefits of colonics, this is one to listen to! Enjoy the show and as always, you can find the sponsor offer and further details in the show notes over at lowtoxlife.com/podcast

175: Charles Eisenstein: On love, society, nature and climate Mar 01, 2020
    Show notes

This week's guest, Charles Eisenstein, always has me asking more questions than I had to start with. I honestly wanted to talk for many more hours. Charles is a teacher, speaker, and writer focusing on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution. His writings on https://charleseisenstein.org/ garner a huge readership. I urge you to go take a spin and get lost in there for a few days after our conversation. In today's show, we talk about love, self-love, the shame around asking for help, disconnection from each other and our natural world, and climate change - all in an hour! Not bad, hey? I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I have. If you find yourself a sensitive being in these times, feeling a bit bruised and battered, then I hope this conversation is of comfort and takes you toward a believing that we can all cultivate a place of peace and positive action, starting with one and spreading to many. In the show notes, as always, you'll find this month's sponsor offer lowtoxlife.com/podcast Enjoy! Alexx x

173: Soap: A platform for global change-making with CEO David Bronner. Feb 16, 2020
    Show notes

So David Bronner's not your average soap company CEO and today on the show we talk everything from Hemp legalisation to regenerative Ag, from LSD, to Burning Man to soap making - it's a big interview indeed. David Bronner is Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO) of Dr. Bronner's, the top-selling brand of natural soaps in North America and producer of a range of organic body care and food products. He is a grandson of company founder, Emanuel Bronner, and a fifth-generation soapmaker. Under David and his brother Michael's leadership, the brand has grown from $4 million in 1998 to over $111 million in annual revenue in 2017. David and Michael established Dr. Bronner's as a sustainable leader in the natural products industry by becoming one of the first body care brands to formulate with hemp seed oil in 1999 and to certify its soaps, lotions, balms, and other personal care products under the USDA National Organic Program in 2003. Both actions resulted in high-profile litigation with government agencies, DEA and USDA respectively, that Dr. Bronner's ultimately won, cementing Dr. Bronner's activist orientation in the natural products marketplace. Over the years, David and Dr. Bronner's have been key leaders in fights for GMO labeling, industrial hemp farming in the U.S., high-bar organic and fair trade standards, cannabis reform, and a fair minimum wage. Today, David is helping to lead the effort to establish the Regenerative Organic Certified standard, dedicating time and resources to creating an integrated, comprehensive program that addresses soil health, animal welfare, and fair labor practices to advance sustainable and ecological alternatives to industrial agriculture. In addition to his support of advocacy for regenerative organic agriculture, David directs Dr. Bronner's resources to support animal advocacy, wage equality, and drug policy reform. One of his passions is the responsible integration of cannabis and psychedelic medicine into American and global culture and he is a board member of the Multi-Disciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies. His activism embodies the company's mission — which encompasses a commitment to making socially and environmentally responsible products of the highest quality, and to dedicating profits to help make a better world. I hope you enjoy deep-diving into the mind of one of the world's most purpose-driven CEO's. This week as we go into our changemakers series, the first series of the year on the Low Tox Life podcast, I invite an inspiring activist and advocate, Brett Chamberlin, to join me on the show. 171: Rebecca Wildbear: A Deeper connection to yourself, the earth and your dreams Feb 02, 2020
    Show notes

Welcome to 2020 and our very first show of the year. This year the podcast will still cover the broad scope of topics that leading a low tox life encompasses from food to body to home, mind, parenting, relationships and more but we're going to do it in series where for 4-5 shows we focus on one aspect so we can dig deep and explore different aspects of the topic before moving to the next one. I'm excited and I hope you are too. To begin a fresh year and our ‘game changers' series that is the first mini-series of the year, I'm overjoyed to bring you Rebecca Wildbear a river and soul guide. What's that you say? Easier to understand that she's got a John Hopkin's University masters in counselling? Yes she has a masters in counselling but where she's taken it is what's truly wonderful: A therapist and wilderness guide since 1997, Rebecca utilizes her training and experience with counselling, yoga, meditation, Hakomi, and somatic psychotherapy to support individuals in discovering and manifesting their soul gifts. A guide for Animas Valley Institute (www.animas.org), Rebecca is also the creator of Wild Yoga™, a practice of worship, veneration, and advocacy for Earth.

Rebecca brings SO much to today's interview based on her work as a river and soul guide, compassionately helping people tune in to the mysteries that live within the wild Earth community, Dreamtime, and their own wild Nature. She gently ushers people to the underground river of their greater story, so they may embrace their sacred gifts, live a life of creative service, and rediscover their deep belonging to the Earth community. So the game changer today is YOU if you dare. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Head to the show notes and make the most of the sponsor offer, too, over at lowtoxlife.com/podcast

169: Dr Ann Shippy: Treatment protocols for mold illness Dec 08, 2019
    Show notes

This week, the wonderfully talented Dr Ann Shippy from Austin, Texas joins me on the show to discuss environmental toxin illness, specifically mould / mold. Ann's words about the way she practices “My approach to medicine is a unique blend of measured, precise data with a heartfelt and sympathetic attitude towards all of my patients. This method stems from my engineering background and my own failed experience as a patient of traditional medicine. I treat patients suffering from any combination of physical, environmental or genetic issues. The science and research that directly relate our environment and nutrition to health, prompted me to found two health-based foundations. My hope is to contribute to and inspire a positive movement towards solving some of the more complex health challenges we face today – and to help create a world where everyone has the opportunity for wellness.” A deeply caring physician, an expert in detoxification and a desire to get people well, enjoy today's show. If you feel after today's show you might have a mold issue, please do go back and listen to shows 55 and 77 too as well as reading through my “Whole Mold Story” blog at lowtoxlife.com - You can find all the show notes over at lowtoxlife.com/podcast - Enjoy the show x
