    Quotes

"All of these systems that the body uses to keep life going and keep them in check, run on the [enodcannabinoid] system." (17:24)

"Now with the endocannabinoid system we are getting some really good hard data, not only just in cells, but in cell tissue studies, animal studies and now in humans, that the entourage effect is real." (30:07)

"It is a wonderfully empowering thing to make your own medicine, but to grow your own medicine and then make that into your own medicine that you can use or even give to a friend or a loved one, its botanical medicine." (43:54)

"It benefits both sides of the equation. It benefits the health side of the equation, it benefits the disease side of the equation, and it can go both ways on that. Meaning that you can lose your health if the ECS is compromised but you can restore the endocannabinoid system and get it back." (50:38)

057: The Change Triangle: Emotions as the Doorway to Healing Anxiety and Depression w/ Hilary Jacobs Hendel Jul 25, 2019
    Show notes

Hilary Jacobs Hendel is a licensed social worker, author of the critically acclaimed and two-time award-winning book, It's Not Always Depression, she is a certified psychoanalyst and AEDP psychotherapist and supervisor, has published articles in The New York Times, TIME, and Oprah, and also consulted on the psychological development of characters on AMC's Mad Men.

It is true that we really think with our whole bodies, which is why it is important to equip yourself with the skills and knowledge necessary to calm and regulate your nervous system, resist from acting on impulses and minimize your shame.

Hilary has created The Change Triangle framework to help others understand the shift between our core emotions and defense mechanisms and learn how to master an emotion for good. By understanding how The Change Triangle works to validate a feeling, and figuring out how to channel that emotion into something helpful, you can get to the state of the open-hearted self.

Our body is wired with emotions from the get-go, and it is only by tuning into the sensations within yourself that you can understand your impulses, embrace your core emotions and channel them through emotionally mature realms of possibility.

Are you ready to take control of your emotions and embrace the open-hearted self? Share what steps you are taking with us in the comments on the episode page.

    In This Episode

    • Understanding in a nutshell what it means to experience an emotion
    • Self-help tools to be less frightened and overwhelmed by your emotions
    • How to turn your attention into the body to notice a physical sensation
    • Embracing the open-hearted self and ways to demystify your emotions
    • Mindfulness practices to stop acting on your impulse and create space

    Quotes

"What we now have is too much shame, that is constricting us too much and not allowing our true authentic selves and our emotions to flow. And that's where the problem happens." (23:24)

"Part of the ways that I think we can all grow is to find our pockets of shame… to kind of know your vulnerability there and decide whether you want to work on it and kind of share it and talk about it so that it becomes less toxic and less constricting." (24:46)

"If children were learning this and young adults, and we were sort of minimizing the trauma, minimizing anxiety, minimizing guilt and shame, we are all going to feel much calmer and confident and able to meet the challenges of life." (33:24)

"With a little bit of education, we can reverse the trajectory of burying emotions, to living more authentically knowing what we are feeling and how to communicate that." (46:52)

056: Three Types of Intuition w/ Razi Berry Jul 21, 2019
    Show notes

Ever since I began publishing natural medicine case studies I have become aware that the most common illnesses found in our modern society are as a result of lifestyle. The easiest way to get back into the awareness of your body's signals and avoid these diseases is by strengthening your intuition.

Intuition or intuitive perception is something that we all take part in, but those in a cohesive state with emotional awareness tend to be able to tap into their intuition with greater ease. Intuition takes place on an emotional, cellular and physiological level and can make a big difference in your life when you know how to utilize it.

Join me to learn how you can access the knowledge underneath your consciousness to flex your intuition muscle and take part in your own unique innate intuitive perception.

Do you feel connected to your intuition, or have you let your inner voice get lost in the crowd? Share with me in the comments on the episode page.

    In This Episode

    • Signs that you may have a strong intuitive perception and how to harness that
    • Understanding the cellular electrophysiological metabolism happening inside of you
    • The differences between implicit intuition, energetic sensitivity, and non-local intuition
    • How EEG scanning can predict event-related potential and intuitive perception
    • Finding the links between emotional awareness, cohesiveness and emotional gravity

    Quotes

"Most of our distress, unhappiness, and disease comes from our inability to really listen to our bodies messages." (1:46)

"Intuition is something that can make a big difference in your life if you really focus in on it, intuition is something that we all have the ability to do and it impacts many aspects of life." (5:04)

"Although the human mind and the human brain and the human heart are designed to allow for the possibility of experiencing intuition, people who are in a more cohesive state are able to experience intuition a little easier." (15:33)
