50: Biker Roundtable - Road Hogs III - Moto Vloggers in Tellico Plains - JR Cigar Jul 21, 2016
    Show notes

We celebrated a little by recording episode 50 live at JR Cigar in Mooresville, NC and hosted our second Biker Roundtable. Thanks to those that joined us on the live stream and chat. We plan to do more live streaming on a regular basis, so check out LouPipes.net/live for more details.

    Bikers Roundtable

A group of Moto-Vloggers (listed below) made a return trip to Tellico Plains, TN. Check out the guys below for all the video from the adventure.

    • Cruiser Brewser
    • Amp'd Moto
    • Bacon's Broken Bits
    • NC Stoney
    • Wolf's World
    • Matthew Williams

Some great roads were ridden while on this trip including; Tail of The Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, and The Hellbender 28 (Part of Moonshiner). These roads are ranked in top 4 of best routes in North Carolina per motorcycleroads.com. The crew again stayed in Tellico Plains, TN at Hunts Lodge which is a great place for motorcycle rider. The owner of the campground had a Manga V-65 so Matthew Williams had a nice chat with her.

On the way back from the mountains Matthew and Jon made a pit stop at JR Cigar to be part of the live show. This was so far Jon's longest ride on the spyder and did little over 900 miles for the weekend. He really enjoyed getting out and riding and found that traveling the interstates is not very exciting. Now he see why Rich and Rico like the back roads so much.

49: Loud Pipes Mountain Ride and News Roundup Jul 03, 2016
    Show notes

The boys are back... After wrapping up our interviews from Atlanta we are back to our normal show format. The guys talk about the Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge, the first Loud Pipes Ride, Road Hogs III ride, Atlanta trip recap, and some news.

Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge: We are going to have a little challenge between the Motorcycle Men, Throttled, and Loud Pipes. The goal of this challenge is to encourage riding on a consistent bases and will award the podcast team that averages the most points over the month of August. To help with the challenge the team at EatSleepRIDE will provide ride data and we'll be posting our progress on the ESR platform. You can follow via the challenge web site or EastSleepRIDE.

First Loud Pipes Ride: The guys joined up on June 24th and took a little ride from Blacksburg, SC to Little Switzerland, NA and back to Charlotte, NC. This was a nice 300 mile trip that included the Diamonback (NC 226a). Plan was to do the Devil's Whip, but thanks to Apple Maps we ended up riding the Diamondback a second time.

Road Hogs III Ride: Rico was the only member of the Loud Pipes team to make the trip. He talked about the ride and taming the snake. We are planning to have another round table with the Road Hogs crew.

Atlanta Recap: We talk about getting out of Atlanta and our trip to Tellico Plains, TN for the MotoVloggers meetup. The riding was a great time, but the weather sucked as it rained on and off most of the day. The group went to Bald River Falls via River Road and traveled the Cherohala Skyway. Around mid afternoon the Loud Pipes Crew split from the MotoVloggers due to a long weekend from the Atlanta trip. On the trip back to Charlotte the guys made a pit stop at Sierra Nevada Brewing.

Check out the MotoVloggers from the meetup:

    • Cruiser Brewser
    • Wolf's World
    • Rouge Mogul
    • Amp'd Moto
    • Bacon's Broken Bits

47: Robert Rivera Jr Interview Jun 10, 2016
    Show notes

In this episode the guys release their second of three interviews from the road trip to Atlanta. This interview is with a very talented artist by the name of Robert Rivera Jr. Robert has been working with airbrush and other techniques for more than 13 years and has been drawing since he was in the 3rd grade. Overall we were blown away with Robert's work and highly suggest you visit YouTube for the video version of this episode.

Robert was featured by Southland's Full Throttle and is the first artist to be featured by Full Throttle. Some of his work can also be found in prior issues of the American Bagger Magazine for bikes from the Baddest Bagger competition. You notice some of Robert's work during this competition.

Kotic Kustoms creates some amazing bikes, which often provide the canvas for Robert's paint.

We were introduced to Robert by way of Aerin Shaw, featured in episode 46.

Here are a few examples of Robert's work and we encourage everyone to check out his Facebook page.

46: Aerin Shaw - Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hyde Exhaust Jun 03, 2016
    Show notes

There is also a video version of this episode, check it out on YouTube.

In this episode the guys sit down with the lovely Ms. Aerin Shaw, Vice President and General Manager for the Jekill and Hyde Company USA. Aerin shares details about why the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust system was developed. Currently the exhaust is only available in the USA for the following brands: Harley-Davidson, Indian, and Honda Goldwing.

The exhaust is one of the top European brands in the market as it allows riders to quiet their bike to avoid sound tickets. That is correct - some European countries will ticket you as much as $3,000 dollars and impound your bike if it's too loud!

Aerin then dives into her little side project - Les Femmes Vitesse. Aerin shares about how she started this project and the requirements to be a member. Sorry guys - this group is only for Fast Women and you can only join by being invited by another Les Femmes Vitesse rider.

Aerin also shares details – and a few stories – about what bikes she rides, which include a Harley-Davidson Road King Police bike for work, and a sizzling hot and wicked fast Suzuki Hayabusa on weekends – in black and pink of course! Zoom!
