Dillon Brooks - Should the Nets take chance this off-season? May 04, 2023

Show notes

The Memphis Grizzlies seemed to make it very clear they would not be bringing Dillon Brooks back this off-season and that he will become a free agent. Should the Nets think about getting in on bringing a guy like Brooks into the fold? The Locked on Nets guys take a look at the situation and how it relates to what is happening in Brooklyn right now.

With the Nets rebuilding, what kinds of players should they have on their radar now and in the future? Does a guy like Dillon Brooks represent the type of player Sean Marks and company used to go after back before the superstar era in Brooklyn started with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving? It’s an interesting debate with the guys weighing in on both sides.

Doug Norrie takes a look at the situation around Sean Marks, the moves he's made over his tenure and what things look like going forward. Is his position in jeopardy? Should it be? What does the short and long-term look like for this team with Marks still in the top spot.

Did Sean Marks sacrifice the Nets future at the trade deadline? Apr 25, 2023

Show notes

After getting swept by the 76ers in the first round, it’s time to start looking back at some things that happened during the season which might alter the Nets’ future. One of those comes from the recent report that GM Sean Marks might have turned down multiple first-round picks for Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale at the trade deadline. The guys discuss these potential moves and how they would have and could have altered the Nets' season and also the future.

Would it be better to have gotten the draft capital back and tanked for a lottery pick, or did the team choose the right path when it was all said and done?

Brooklyn Nets end season with a whimper. Swept by 76ers Apr 22, 2023

Show notes

Doug Norrie and Adam Armbrecht are in to break down what was easily the most disappointing game of the series for the Brooklyn Nets. At a high level, the team and specifically Mikal Bridges didn't have anything left to give. Big minutes for every key player down the stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs left Brooklyn with tired legs across the roster.

That looks to be a fact, but the other more glaring fact coming out of this game is Jacque Vaughn blew a very real opportunity to blow this game of early with poor roster and rotation management.

Nets lead late, but can’t pull out a win against the Sixers, fall down 3-0 in the series Apr 21, 2023

Show notes

The Brooklyn Nets looked like they might be on their way to a blowout at halftime, but came back firing in the second half and made it a game against Philly. They even had the lead with under three minutes, but the Sixers went on a 11-1 run to end the game and Brooklyn went out with a fizzle on their final possession.

It was a disappointing loss for the Nets with Nic Claxton getting ejected and Mikal Bridges struggling some from the field. There was a questionable ejection for James Harden and a possible ejection for Joel Embiid in a game that was very chippy. The Locked on Nets guys talk about the game, the closing moments and the disappointment from the loss.
