Does Cam Thomas have a future with the Brooklyn Nets? Jul 20, 2023

Show notes

Cam Thomas had one of the weirdest seasons you'll ever see last time around with multiple 40+ point games mixed in with DNPs and mostly being buried on the bench. What does this season hold for Thomas with the Brooklyn Nets and is he in the team's long-range plans? It's a confusing situation where the 3rd-year guard is concerned.

The Locked on Nets guys take a look at the situation around Cam Thomas and make predictions about what will happen to him this season. Will he be traded? Is he part of the regular rotation? Does the new coaching staff signal a good sign for his development of will the team's recent signings have a place over him in the rotation? It's all on the table here with both the positives and negatives of Cam Thomas's game.

Joel Embiid could want out of Philadelphia. Would the Nets have chance at 76ers star? Jul 19, 2023

Show notes

Joel Embiid was asked in an interview recently about his future goals and he left the door open about possibly not staying with the Philadelphia 76ers long-term. It was an interesting admission that brought out more NBA discourse around another superstar possibly wanting out of a current situation.

Along with that, the Brooklyn Nets are one of the most well-positioned teams to trade for a superstar in the future. This doesn’t necessarily mean Joel Embiid specifically, but it does warrant a discussion about possibly landing spots and how the Nets are positioned going into the future for superstars.

Nets sign Darius Bazley. How he could impact Brooklyn rotations this season Jul 18, 2023

Show notes

The Nets signed Darius Bazley over the weekend, bringing the 23-year-old in on a one-year contract. He had spent previous seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns. The Locked on Nets guys look at what the Bazley signing could mean and how it follows a pattern for Sean Marks and company this off-season. The team is targeting much younger players which possible upside in a player development mode.

Where Darius Bazley is concerned, the young win has shown flashes of scoring and rebounding in his few NBA years but will need to improve considerably on the three-point shooting to really stick with rotation minutes on this Nets team.

Nets end Summer League: Jalen Wilson showed a lot, Noah Clowney not so much Jul 17, 2023

Show notes

On the flip side, Noah Clowney struggled overall and logged only seven minutes in this one, picking up four fouls in that stretch. The Locked on Nets guys take a look at summer league as a whole and what to make of the play of these guys, and more.

Could the Pistons helps the Nets with a Damian Lillard and Tyler Herro trade? Jul 11, 2023

Show notes

Could the Pistons helps the Nets with a Damian Lillard and Tyler Herro trade?

With a day between Summer League action for the Brooklyn Nets, the Locked on Nets guys look at reports that Detroit might have entered the fray when it comes to the Damian Lillard trade. Could the Pistons be a facilitator for getting Damian Lillard to the Miami Heat? And if that were the case, could they make things easier for the Nets possibly acquiring Tyler Herro?

There’s a discussion about whether this should still be in the Nets' best interest and whether this trade is going to happen at all. This is still very much the hottest topic in the off-season and Brooklyn remains close to the situation where all parties are concerned.
