What a fantastic weekend for Big 12 football! The conference is stacked with pivotal matchups on Saturday, October 11, 2025, that will have major implications for the top of the standings and the conference championship race.
Here's a breakdown of the great slate of Big 12 games this weekend (Week 7):
1. Top-Five Showdown: No. 9 Texas Tech vs. Kansas
Time: 7:30 PM EDT (4:30 PM Local)
TV: FOX
Location: Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, TX
The headliner features the undefeated, unanimous Big 12 power rankings No. 1, No. 9 Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-0, 2-0) hosting a tough Kansas Jayhawks (4-2, 2-1) squad.
The Stakes: Texas Tech is on a roll and needs to keep winning to stay in the national playoff discussion. A win here would solidify their place at the very top of the conference standings. For Kansas, a road victory over the league's top team would be a massive statement and vault them right into the title game conversation.
Players to Watch: Keep an eye on the high-powered Red Raiders offense, led by quarterback Behren Morton, going up against the Jayhawks' offense led by QB Jalon Daniels and a physical running game.
2. Pac-12 Reunion in the Desert: No. 18 BYU vs. Arizona
Time: 8:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM Local)
TV: ESPN2
Location: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ
In a high-stakes battle between two of the newer Big 12 members, the undefeated No. 18 BYU Cougars (5-0, 2-0) travel to face the Arizona Wildcats (4-1, 1-1).
The Stakes: BYU is looking to maintain its perfect record and stay tied for the conference lead. A win is crucial to avoid a mid-season stumble before a tough stretch. Arizona is currently 4-1 and a victory at home against a ranked, unbeaten team would provide a huge boost to their Big 12 resume and overall ranking.
3. Critical Midday Clash: TCU vs. Kansas State
Time: 3:30 PM EDT (2:30 PM Local)
TV: FOX
Location: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, KS
Two teams looking to re-establish themselves in the Big 12 title race square off in what should be a physical battle. The TCU Horned Frogs (4-1, 1-1) visit the Kansas State Wildcats (2-4, 1-2).
The Stakes: For TCU, a win keeps them firmly in the middle tier of the conference with hopes of climbing. For Kansas State, despite their slow start, a victory over a 4-1 team is essential to salvage their season and keep their bowl hopes realistic.
4. Battle for Early Standing: No. 22 Iowa State vs. Colorado
Time: 3:30 PM EDT (1:30 PM Local)
TV: ESPN
Location: Folsom Field, Boulder, CO
The No. 22 Iowa State Cyclones (5-1, 2-1) head to Boulder to take on the Colorado Buffaloes (2-4, 0-3).
The Stakes: Iowa State is still a contender but is reeling from a recent loss. They need a road win to keep pace with the leaders. Colorado, with Coach Prime, is still seeking its first Big 12 victory of the season and a major upset here would be a huge moment for their program.
Other Games to Watch:
UCF at No. 4 Cincinnati (12:00 PM EDT on FS1): A battle of newcomers as 4-1 Cincinnati tries to stay undefeated in Big 12 play against the 3-2 UCF Knights.
Houston at Oklahoma State (12:00 PM EDT on TNT/HBO Max): Houston (4-1, 1-1) faces a struggling Oklahoma State (1-4, 0-2) squad that desperately needs a conference win.
