Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting talk, most under ranked verbal commits Oct 19, 2022

Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting talk, we discuss the current 2023 class. Where does the Badgers class rank nationally and who are the three players that I think are most underrated ? I talk about Jamel Howard and why he's the perfect Keanu Benton replacement, Tyler Jansey and why he's a prototypical linebacker and Trech Kekahuna who the Badgers will need to fight to keep.

I talk about what in the world the Badgers are doing at the QB position and why they need to get some offers out to Cole LaCrue or Parker Leise -- its probably going to need to be a two-QB class anyway with the state of the current Badgers depth chart.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we discuss some key and surprising basketball recruiting news and which positions the Badgers need to address in this recruiting cycle - at a minimum what do they need to do ?

Show notes

The Wisconsin Badgers football team needs at least 3 more wins to become bowl eligible, will they get there ? We start by talking about why making a bowl game really matters this year for a young team being able to get extra practices. We discuss the Badgers crazy long bowl streak, and why its important to keep it going. We also talk about the bowl game providing some momentum going into the off-season.

Next we take a look at the remaining games, and why its so hard to pick which ones the Badgers might win. We discuss the floor and ceiling for the rest of the year and which teams are most likely to give the Badgers some issues.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about goals for the rest of the year outside of making a bowl. Specifically beat Minnesota and Iowa - why getting the axe back is a big deal for an important group of seniors. We also talk about the importance of getting reps for younger players and how the rest of the year can play a big part in which coaches are kept on staff.

Show notes

The Wisconsin Badgers fall flat against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing as a mistake prone offense couldn't get the job done in overtime. Braelon Allen had a key fumble and Graham Mertz wasn't sharp as turnovers keyed an MSU upset win.

We talk about all of that and more on the therapy show!

Wisconsin Badgers basketball preview. Greg Gard, Chucky Hepburn and Tyler Wahl lead an interesting group. Oct 12, 2022

Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers basketball preview show with Dillon Graff. We talk about Greg Gard, Chucky Hepburn, Tyler Wahl, Steven Crowl and the rest of what is going to be a very interesting Badgers basketball team. We start by discussing the players that have left and what the team will need to replace without Johnny Davis, Brad Davison and Chris Vogt. Davis not only takes his nearly 20 PPG with him, but also a lot of gravity that made it easier on the rest of the squad. We discuss the newcomers and where they fit in. Is Max Klesmit the Davison replacement and what about Kamari McGee and Connor Essegian - how big of a role will they play?

In the next segment we discuss the rotation, how deep will this Badgers team under Greg Gard go and where are the spots on the roster with the most question marks. How good can Chris Hodges be as the backup center -- and what kind of role will Carter Gilmore play.

In the final Locked On Badgers basketball segment, we discuss a few remaining questions, including where this team will finish and if this will be a better shooting team than last year?

Wisconsin Badgers football offensive changes against Northwestern and football injury updates Oct 11, 2022

Show notes

I talk about some of the warning signs from Paul Chryst and why people should have been paying attention a little earlier and before the Wisconsin Badgers football team moved on to Jim Leonhard. I also talk about why people should be OK with reacting to the Northwester game, just because the Wildcats are a bad team doesn't mean the game was meaningless. The reason is the Badgers changed things up and went with different players and looks.

On the next segment I discuss some of the specific changes with game time and situation that the Badgers used to bully the Wildcats defense. Specifically Bobby Engram put Graham Mertz into easier spots to throw the ball and how that really put the defense on its heals.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about the injury to Chez Mellusi and the departure of backup quarterback Deacon Hill. We also talk about a trend of leaving players in too long in blowouts and why I hope Jim Leonhard changes that going forward.

Roderick Rogers joins the show to talk Jim Leonhard and the 2006 Wisconsin Badgers football team Oct 10, 2022

Show notes

We continue talking about the coaching transition from Paul Chryst to Jim Leonhard for the Wisconsin Badgers football team, we bring Roderick Rogers on the show to discuss what Jim Leonhard was like as a player and if coaching is a young man's game now. We discuss what made Leonhard so successful and why those traits will probably serve him well as a coach.

We discuss the great 2006 Badgers team and why nobody really talks about it, and what made that defense so good. Roderick discusses thinking about what might have happened with that team if they had managed to beat Michigan and earn a possible trip to the Rose Bowl. We also discuss the coaching transition that year as Brett Bielema took over for Barry Alvarez.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we discuss Badgers cornerback Al Ashford and his connection with Roderick. What does Roderick think of his game and where does he think Ashford has the most potential on the field.
