Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting talk, which recruits are we worried about losing ? How solid is Trech Kekahuna? Oct 28, 2022

Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting talk with John Garcia Jr from Sports Illustrated. We discuss how unique it is that interim head coach Jim Leonhard and the Badgers haven't lost any commits from the 2023 class despite the coaching change. We look at Notre Dame's coaching change last year and why Wisconsin might be in a similar position.

We talk specifically about Trech Kekahuna, Roderick Pierce and Christopher Terek all players with a lot of upside and prospects that have had other schools reach out. How big of a risk is Oregon for Trech, what about Notre Dame for Terek and Michigan for Pierce ? Are the players solid if Jim Leonhard gets the job?

Finally we talk about who the Badgers need to keep in this class and Jim Leonhard's hot start as the interim coach, how much does that matter ?

Big Ten 2023 football schedule released, the Wisconsin Badgers could make a lot of noise next year behind Graham Mertz Oct 27, 2022

Show notes

The Big Ten Conference released their 2023 football schedule, and it looks pretty good for the Wisconsin Badgers. We start with a discussion on why the schedule is so favorable as we go through the non-conference games and take a look at the crossovers schedules. We discuss why the Ohio State game in Madison will be such a gigantic opportunity for whomever takes over the Badgers football program. We also talk about the toughest stretch for the Badgers.

Next we talk about why this schedule will be a new coach's best friend especially at a winning program where he will be expected ot get off to a big start. We go back to the Ohio State game in October and discuss the chances for the Badgers to be undefeated at that point.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about the youth of this year's team and why this offense should be primed to do big things next season especially with the relatively easy schedule the Badgers will have.

What have we learned about Wisconsin Badgers football interim head coach Jim Leonhard, plus more on the Purdue Boilermakers game Oct 24, 2022

Show notes

We discuss what we have seen from Wisconsin Badgers football interim head coach Jim Leonhard after three games with him in his new role. One thing is clear, he is owning the moment - his communication has been clear and concise. He's also stepped away from the offense which has allowed Bobby Engram to put Graham Mertz in great spots. We also haven't seen a mass exodus of transfers, or any de-commits from the recruiting department.

We talk about Purdue and why Bobby Engram, Graham Mertz and John Torchio all stepped up big time. We discuss the game plan and how Engram kept Purdue's defense on their heels all game long. This was a great offensive gameplan and the coaches deserve a lot of credit.

Finally we talk about the WR group and the ILB group and how both spots have really stepped up in the last week. We discuss what we would like to see during the bye week and how this team can be even better coming out of it.

Wisconsin Badgers and Purdue Boilermakers football preview show Oct 21, 2022

Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers football preview as they take on the Purdue Boilermakers in Madison. We talk about why Purdue is such a scary team with their passing game and their weapons. They have also been playing very well with 4 wins in a row and two road wins against Minnesota and Maryland. We also talk about how Wisconsin could potentially hurt Purdue and keep themselves in this game.

Is this the most important game left on the schedule for Wisconsin, I tell you why it is -- even though Minnesota matters every year, beating Purdue right before the bye would be enormous for a Badgers team trying to get its footing.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we discuss what we think will happen with the game, why Wisconsin shouldn't be favored and what is the Badgers path forward to success.

Wisconsin Badgers football coaching big board, Leonhard, Rhule, Aranda and Leipold -- who makes the most sense ? Oct 20, 2022

Show notes

We discuss the Wisconsin Badgers football coaching search, who makes the most sense between Jim Leonhard, Dave Aranda, Matt Rhule and Lance Leipold. We start by ranking the candidates, why this is Jim Leonhard's job to lose but why he can actually lose it. I talk a little bit about Matt Rhule and why his NFL failures don't matter to me at all.

I talk about Dave Aranda and why in some ways he makes more sense than Jim Leonhard, he's done a lot of the same defensive coordinator magic, but he's also shown the ability to be a successful head coach and has more recruiting experience than Leonhard.

Finally I talk about Lance Leipold and how much of a negative his age is ? Would it matter ? Why he makes so much sense as the only candidate on the list to have built sustained success as a head coach.
