On this episode of Let’s Be Blunt,
Montel gives the keynote address at the Cannabis Science Conference West 2022. His keynote was inspired by his personal journey and the expertise he’s accumulated along the way as he talks about the work ahead for the industry and the future of the cannabis reform movement. Over the past two decades, Montel Williams has been among the cannabis reform movement’s most prominent advocates having become a medical cannabis patient after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999. Along the way, Williams has taken an active role in legalization battles in almost every state where legalization has succeeded in states such as Pennsylvania, Arkansas, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut and his home state of Maryland. Williams has also spent two decades interviewing a wide variety of stakeholders in the movement.

On this episode of Let’s Be Blunt, Montel talks with Matt Zorn, Esq, a partner at Yetter Coleman, LLP. Matt is recognized as an authority on issues relating to the federal Controlled Substance Act and issues relating to canna regulation, even being named to the Law360 2020 Cannabis Editorial Advisory Board. Matt routinely speaks and publishes on issues relating to legal issues involving controlled substances. He was honored as a 2020 Pegasus Scholar by American Inns of Court. In one of his favorite areas of complex litigation, Best Lawyers in America named Matt "One to Watch," and Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers recognized him as a "Texas Rising Star" in IP Litigation, Canna Law, and Administrative Law. Before joining the firm, Matt was a judicial clerk to the Hon. Rodney Gilstrap, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, spending hundreds of hours in court helping manage one of the busiest trial dockets in the country. Before then he was a litigator with Paul, Weiss in New York City. He earned his law degree at Columbia Law School, and his BA in European History and Applied Mathematics from Emory University.

Joint Operations is a veteran owned and operated company. Owner and operator Bill Duggan is a U.S. Army veteran and retired law enforcement officer. Bill was Awarded ARCOMs (Army Achievement Medals) as well as a CAB (Combat Action Badge), served as a team leader and operated in Panama. He has dedicated his new career to unleashing the power of cannabis to improve lives after his family and friends found outstanding results in treating medical conditions with cannabis. Todd Sullivan of Cannaprenuer Partners is a co-owner of Joint Operations. Todd is a serial entrepreneur who founded his first business in 1986 at the age of 18. Since then, he has been involved in entrepreneurial businesses either as an investor, advisor or founder/employee, his entire working life. Todd currently is the owner of ValuePlays and former General Partner in Rand Strategic Partners, a long/short hedge fund and a partner in Cannaprenuer Partners.

Traditional tobacco is a medicine, which can be used in a prescribed way to promote physical, spiritual, emotional, and community well-being. It may be used as an offering to the Creator or to another person, place, or being. A gift of traditional tobacco is a sign of respect and may be offered when asking for help, guidance, or protection and is sometimes used directly for healing in traditional medicine. It may be burned in a fire or smoked in a pipe, yet the smoke is generally not inhaled.
On this episode of Let’s Be Blunt, Montel talks with Ashéninka Mino. Mino was born and raised in the Amazon jungle of Peru. He comes from a family of healers and was taught by his grandfather how to use Natural Tobacco to eliminate accumulated negative, and harmful energy which is causing disharmony for the person and their space. He is joined by his partner, who is an herbalist and healer of many years, Bernadette Torres, and together they run Shabeta’s Healing Garden.
Mino states that his full task is to create harmony and equilibrium in the person being healed and to reconnect the person to their spirit. Part of bringing harmony to a person is to bring back their joy, their passion, their strength. Everything that creates harmony and equilibrium.

TREATING EPILEPSY WITH CBD | JENNIFER ANDERSON, M.D. Jul 21, 2022

On this episode of Let's Be Blunt, Montel talks with Dr. Jennifer Anderson, a pediatrician and ER doctor from Canada. Jennifer's son was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. Daily life was a struggle for the family as her son would have continuous seizures. Out of pure desperation, Jennifer decided to try CBD. The results were astounding. The CBD significantly reduced the amount of daily seizures and increased his quality of life. Jennifer Anderson now specializes in medical cannabis for kids, in order to help other struggling families.

BONE TUMORS & CANNA | RYLIE MAEDLER Jul 14, 2022

On this episode of Let's Be Blunt, Montel speaks with Rylie Maedler. Rylie was diagnosed with aggressive bone tumors at the age of seven. Her parents decided to secretly begin giving her canna oils to help with the seizures and tumors in her face. Ever since then, Rylie has become a fierce advocate for canna in her home state of Delaware. At the age of nine, she helped pass a law in Delaware named "Rylie's Law", which allowed children under the age of 18 to use canna oils to treat intractable epilepsy and dystonia. Today, she is the CEO of her very own canna business: Rylie's Smile.
