Montel speaks with Dr Alison Draisin on this episode of Let’s Be Blunt. She is the Lead Psychotherapist and Director of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Provider Training at the AIMS Institute. Dr Draisin speaks nationally and internationally about cannabis and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and is passionate about entheogenic medicine to help people find health, healing, and happiness. She is the past President of the Board of Directors for the Center for Cannabis and Social Policy and an original member of Women of Weed. Her entrepreneurship built Ettalew’s Edibles from the ground upon a foundation of helping fellow patients in Washington State. Her dedication to quality, consistency, and labeling of products was recognized at the High Times Cannabis Cup Seattle in 2012 and 2013, as well as being named one of the Best Edible Companies of 2013 by High Times Magazine. Prior to running a successful cannabis-infused company, Alison attained a Master’s Degree in Art Psychotherapy and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology.

On this episode of Let’s Be Blunt, Montel talks with Alice Johnson, a former federal prisoner turned advocate who received worldwide attention when Kim Kardashian advocated for her release from a mandatory life sentence without parole for a first-time nonviolent drug case. After almost 22 years in federal prison, she was granted clemency in 2018 and later a full pardon by President Donald Trump in 2020. Her powerful story has been deemed a “catalyst” for the passage of the First Step Act, the most significant criminal justice legislation in recent history. She’s an ambassador for the Stand Together Foundation and a board member for the Duke University Wilson Center for Science and Justice. She was appointed to the board of Ready Life, a fintech platform and was featured in a commercial that aired on ESPN2 during the 2022 Orange Bowl Classic.
