Magic Zen & the Art of Playgroup Maintenance Oct 25, 2024

Show notes

In light of the recent developments with the ban list and the subsequent fallout, Andy and Kyle reflect on how their group seems to have been insulated from the big feelings rippling through the broader community. They outline how a deeper playgroup mission that centers on experience and respect almost gives the group an intuition to avoid the most contested parts of the format. Andy outlines with Kyle a variety of tenets that the group tries to respect and they share their stories and success and failure with those tenets, in this classic LCP episode that waxes philosophical along the way. Leave Me Alone! | Understanding a Feared Commander Sep 16, 2024

Show notes

Despite talking through commander reputations, deck rankings, and lightning rods in the zone on previous episodes, Kyle still has a commander who notoriously gets him focused on. He sits down with Andy to hash out why he thinks that is rightfully happening and they suss out how some commanders are lending to a management philosophy of direct focus because of what some contemporarily designed commanders are designed to do.
