Congress Gets Tough With McCarthy & Co May 13, 2022
    Show notes

Members of Congress are no longer asking, they're ordering. The January 6 Select Committee issues subpoenas to GOP lawmakers Kevin McCarthy, Scott Perry, Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks and Jim Jordan. Will any now participate in the investigation, and what would their colleagues do if they don't comply? Republicans call for the DOJ to stop Roe v. Wade protests at justices' homes, with Mitch McConnell calling such actions “flat-out illegal”. Are they? CNN Legal Analysts Joan Biskupic and Jeffrey Toobin join to discuss that, and a new SCOTUS leak reported by Politico.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi is a member of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis. He joins to talk about about how some of the nation's top meat producers lied about an impending supply shortage to keep their plants open through the height of the Pandemic in 2020, putting workers, and possibly the country, at risk.

Vote To Protect Abortion Access Fails In Senate May 12, 2022
    Show notes

President Biden Slams the GOP after the Women's Health Protection Act fails to be passed by the Senate. Are the Democrats now out of moves when it comes to trying to salvage Roe v. Wade? Texas District Attorney José Garza has vowed not to take legal action against women seeking abortion services if Roe is overturned. He joins to talk about why, and the ‘luck of a draw’ that some women could potentially face in states where prosecutors’ opinions are divided on the issue.
Inflation slowed last month for the first time since August, but the cost of gas, food and rent are all hitting American households hard. Is the Biden administration doing enough to help? That, as baby formula is out of stock in eight states amid a supply crisis. Plus, the January 6 Committee finalizes its witness list and topics ahead of a high stakes-hearing in June, and a passenger with no flight experience lands a plane after its pilot is incapacitated.

Does Trump Still Have A Grip On The GOP? May 11, 2022
    Show notes

Polls close in the Nebraska and West Virginia primaries, in contests seen as tests of Trump’s dominance in the GOP. Does the former president still have as tight a grip on his party now he's out of office and post-insurrection, and what weight do his endorsements now carry? The former defense secretary under Trump openly calls him a threat to democracy, but two top Republican leaders are caught on tape denouncing Trump’s actions on January 6 while continuing to support him publicly.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton joins to discuss how ex-corrections officer Vicky White was “basically the mastermind behind the escape” of convicted murderer Casey White that sparked an 11-day manhunt for the pair, and ended in the Alabama officer's death by a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a dramatic car chase in Indiana. Plus, Tom Brady gets a $375 million contract to join Fox Sports after retirement and Mike Tyson won’t face charges after appearing to punch a plane passenger.
