LASIK SURGERY – VISION CORRECTION AND WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW Part 2 Oct 11, 2019
    Show notes

When it comes to the conversation about vision correction, LASIK has been a household name since it was approved by the FDA nearly 20 years ago. An acronym for laser in situ keratomileusis, LASIK is a two-step procedure.
The first step makes a micron-thin, circular flap in the cornea – the surface of the eye. Then, the surgeon gently lifts the flap to expose where the actual vision correction treatment will happen, just under the surface of the eye. Dr. Neda Shamie is a renowned cataract, LASIK and corneal surgeon, visits with Mark Alyn.

Boasting big-time results in the arena of anti-aging and skincare, the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial is a combination of microdermabrasion and the rich serum portion of blood. Yes, that’s right—blood. To explain, blood platelets are packed with growth factors and bioactive proteins that optimize the skin’s natural function. The best part, however, is that these platelets increase everything from collagen to elastin, while also bringing antioxidant and hydrating properties to the skin, as explained by Allure. Thus, it’s easy to see why celebrities, social media influencers and just about everyone else are seeking this mysterious, yet advanced technique to rejuvenate skin with premature wrinkles, sun damage, and uneven skin tone and texture. Dr. Benjamin Stong, from Kalos - The K Spa, visits with Mark Alyn.

Turning Grey Into Great Sep 12, 2019
    Show notes

We, the over 50, are waking up to the fact that our social networks are shrinking and our consequent need for supportive, intentional community is rapidly growing. We are grappling with existential questions of loss, limitation, and ultimately death, because we know in our heart of hearts that what served and satisfied us before, if it did, no longer does and won't. Many mid-lifers and later-lifers are consequently yearning for and seeking meaning, relevancy, belonging and contribution through community involvement, activism, and altruism. By helping the middle-class over-fifty return to their roots through the development of compassionate community for change, perhaps, just maybe, we can sway the rest of America back to the right path so that it could be a beacon to the rest of the world. Whitney Gray Vosberg talks with Mark Alyn about the challenges of growing older.
