    Show notes

ormer RN and community volunteer Kathleen Allan is teaming up with internationally renowned pianist Mark Markham and award-winning producer & publicist Ashley Bernardi to call citizens around the world to join together for A Time Of Remembrance (October 10, 2020 at 10:00am Local Time), a time to honor, hope, heal and remember the loss of so many lives at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic for 10 minutes of reflection and prayer.
Amid a deeply divided nation, this unique trio realized that while more than 1 million lives around the world and more than 200,000 lives in America have been lost, there has been no initiative to remember the victims of this unprecedented pandemic. They decided to create A Time of Remembrance with the simple goal of expanding compassion and care for the hurting. Kathleen Allan joins Mark Alyn to talk about this upcoming event.

Boomer Naturals Mask with Nano-Silver Oct 03, 2020
    Show notes

Nano-Silver? Infused in three layers of COVID-19 protection? Here’s how high-tech can lower Americans’ chances of getting or transmitting Coronavirus. A company called Boomer Naturals has designed the most effective non-medical face mask on the planet.
The nano-silver fibers in their 30-day face asks are engineered to help fight bacteria and provide better, more effective protection than regular cloth masks. Nano-silver particles have a
relatively large surface area, which increases their contact with bacteria or fungi – and therefore increases their antibacterial effect. Nano-silvered medical textiles used in hospital settings have also shown promise in reducing bacterial transmission and contamination. They’re literally a “fortress for your face!” Dr. Christina Madison, an infectious disease pharmacist, explains to Mark Alyn

Mental Health For Seniors During the Pandemic Sep 22, 2020
    Show notes

In early March, and because of COVID-19, thousands of skilled nursing facilities across the nation closed their doors to outside medical staff, including visits from the team of specialists Executive Mental Health (EMH), a geropsychology and neuropsychology practice based in Los Angeles and operating in California and Nevada. EMH’s regular psychotherapy sessions with and neuropsychological assessment of elderly residents, many of them dealing with heightened stress and disorientation due to coronavirus, were abruptly cut off. As a consequence of this policy approach, residents became more vulnerable to the effects of the pandemic, e.g., greater risk of onset of depressive, anxious, and trauma-based symptoms. Dr. Ari Kalechstein, CEO of Executive Mental Health guests with Mark Alyn.

In THE TRAGEDY OF HETEROSEXUALITY (NYU Press, September 2020), Jane Ward calls attention to the entrapment, disappointment, unwanted sex, and countless daily injustices endured by straight women. While conservatives have long promoted the belief that homosexual relationships are unnatural, damaged, and fraught with dysfunction, Ward examines what might be gained from raising similar questions about the health and sustainability of the heterosexual status quo.
