Latest Trade Deadline Intel: Lakers have shown interest in Caruso, Rozier, Brogdon, among others Jan 19, 2024
    Show notes

Anthony has been pretty busy lately, so he recaps all the reporting he's done and looks ahead to some names he's heard the Lakers are interested in. To wrap, he answers as many questions as he could, and there were some great ones.

The Lakers are turning a corner at a crucial point in the season Jan 19, 2024
    Show notes

With three weeks to go before the trade deadline, Anthony and Aaron look at the Lakers sneakily turning things around and playing quite a bit better with Austin Reaves and D'Angelo Russell in the starting lineup again. Seeing as the Lakers are already in active trade talks, stacking some wins doesn't just help with standings, but also gives them needed leverage between now and February 8. To wrap things up, after some technical difficulties, the guys discuss the various approaches the Lakers could take to this trade deadline.

Lakers are showing a proof of concept with D'Angelo Russell starting again Jan 18, 2024
    Show notes

The Lakers picked up a huge and resounding win over the Mavericks even despite Luka Doncic's return as Anthony Davis nearly missed a triple-double and D'Angelo Russell continued his stellar play as the starting point guard. Anthony breaks down what he saw from a monster win and what he thinks the Lakers can build on from here. Then, seeing as this is what everyone tuned in for, Anthony addressed the Lakers-Hawks rumor making the rounds and discussed what the Lakers are considering moving forward.

Leigh Ellis stops by again to update us on his trip playing basketball around the globe. He and Anthony discuss that project, global pride in the game's growth, US vs. International competition, soccer's impact on how the game is played internationally and a ton more.

Lakers midseason grades: Harrison was nice; Anthony was... Anthony Jan 17, 2024
    Show notes

The Lakers have played 41 (official) games. They have at least 41 to go. At this halfway point, Anthony and Harrison offer up their grades and, well, Anthony didn't hold back. He and Harrison have a productive conversation on their outlooks thus far. They then find themselves making the case for betting on LeBron James and Anthony Davis -- something they can't believe they have to do once again. Finally, with a minor tweak to power ranking this week, Harrison ranks Lakers who historically got too much belief from coaches and Anthony threw out five trades he'd prefer over trading for Zach LaVine or Dejounte Murray.

Appateaser: Can the Lakers play their way out of trade rumors? Jan 16, 2024
    Show notes

Everyone knows how much Raj hates trade rumors. So it's incredibly on-brand of him to wonder what it would take for last year's core to somehow avoid getting traded this year. Anthony answered given what he knows right now and offers up an alternative route to the giant trades it would take to land Zach LaVine or Dejounte Murray.

Darvin Ham goes back to OG starters, Lakers pick up huge win vs. Thunder Jan 16, 2024
    Show notes

The Lakers came into last night desperately needing a win and got one against a good Oklahoma City Thunder team. Darvin Ham went back to the season's original starters and they performed much better than we'd seen previously. LeBron James and Anthony Davis played well and were able to enjoy getting to a quiet statistical performance, a rarity to this point. D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves also played well together. Anthony welcomed Raj to break down the game and look ahead to trade rumors and whether these Lakers can play well enough to keep the team together.

Appateaser: NBA scout throws shade at the Lakers Jan 15, 2024
    Show notes

In this segment from today's Lowdown, Anthony discusses the Lakers' disinterest in building on success and how NBA teams are now scouting for this. He also talks about the toll this whole Darvin Ham situation is taking on the Lakers, as a rift is growing within the organization because of the job he's done this year.

A very real rift is forming within the Lakers about Darvin Ham Jan 15, 2024
    Show notes

Anthony Davis took accountability for the loss Saturday night. What a concept. Our Anthony recaps another tough weekend and the fallout from it -- or the lack thereof as it pertains to Darvin Ham. That said, tension is building as those at the top still support Ham and those he works with more on a daily basis feel very different. Anthony also hits on the latest trade rumors as now D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura are trade eligible. He also hits on a potential free agent who would really help later in the season should he get bought out: Gordon Hayward. To wrap things up, Anthony offers up an injury update on Cam Reddish and why he's nervous we may not see Cam for a little while.

Why Austin Reaves has struggled so much defensively this season Jan 12, 2024
    Show notes

Anthony discusses Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka not necessarily doing Darvin Ham the favors they think they are with all the leaking signs of support, using Game of Thrones as the example. Then, he discusses how the defensive strategies the Lakers are implemented aren't helping and are specifically hurting someone like Austin Reaves. He also wonders how much LeBron James' recent play has to do with all this noise and/or his frustrations with Ham specifically. Finally, he answers your questions, and boy were there a ton.
