Sources: "Very real chance" D'Angelo Russell remains a Laker through the deadline Feb 07, 2024

Show notes

Anthony went live on the show's youtube page to discuss the goings on this deadline and just how slowly everything is developing. If you've read or listened here consistently, though, that shouldn't surprise you. Still, the possibility that the Lakers stand pat is becoming all the more real by the hour, seemingly, as Anthony explains, so what would that mean moving forward not just this season but beyond it?

Lakers wrap up 4-2 road trip; Anthony and Harrison discuss deathly quiet first day of Deadline Week Feb 06, 2024

Show notes

The Lakers handled the Hornets in fairly predictable fashion but hey, a win is a win and they wrapped up a 4-2 road trip that should go a long way in convincing the front office to expend asset capital to fortify this roster. Anthony and Harrison discuss how frustrating it is to have that conversation (again). Speaking of frustrations, half the league is pretty annoyed at how the deadline is playing out right now. Anthony explains the latest he has on that front, as well as where negotiations between the Lakers and Hawks for Dejounte Murray sit. A ton of information throughout this conversation, with a few dashes of shade directed at anyone who doesn't think Anthony Davis is an all star.

Latest draft intel heading into trade deadline week; Bad news on Jarred Vanderbilt front Feb 05, 2024

Show notes

The Lakers and the rest of the NBA are all preparing for one of the busiest weeks of the season. It's Slop Week, and Anthony has brand new intel on their efforts on the trade market, LeBron James' feelings towards this roster, a fun weekend of basketball and what's at stake depending on the direction the Lakers take this week. Plus, the latest on Jarred Vanderbilt, which isn't great news.

Jason Timpf on Lakers' inconsistent effort, deadline needs, Darvin issues Feb 02, 2024

Show notes

Anthony welcomes Jason Timpf (Hoops Tonight) to discuss this weird Lakers' season, which has mostly been defined by inconsistencies. Whether it's effort, coaching, availability or whatever, these Lakers have managed to turn what should've been a nice, enjoyable season into quite the slog. They also talk Darvin Ham's coaching and the team's response to it, plus how referees are hurting the NBA product.

The Lakers beat the Celtics in Boston without LeBron and AD... Wait what? Feb 02, 2024

Show notes

Anthony and Raj discuss the latest greatest win of the season and honestly, because of the way this season has gone so far, they really just wanted to keep this one nice and light. Enjoy.

Listen all the way through to hear Anthony and Aaron get crushed by some breaking news Feb 01, 2024

Show notes

Anthony and Aaron had a really fun conversation on Darvin Ham, a potential lineup change, the trade deadline, Might Ducks and plenty more. Then, right at the very end, they got some brutal breaking news that crushed their souls. Fun stuff!

Sabreena Merchant stops by to help kick off LeSubtweet SZN Feb 01, 2024

Show notes

One of our absolute faves stopped by today for a retro "I Loathe Basketball" episode now that we have apparently entered the Players Subtweet Their Coach portion of the season. Anthony offers an update from some close to the situation after he said in last night's episode he thinks the season would immediately turn around if they fired Darvin Ham. But mostly, the two have a cathartic conversation about these damn Lakers, who continue to make our lives miserable. Sabreena also gives an update on women's basketball at all levels.

The Lakers are pretty clearly done with Darvin Ham Jan 31, 2024

Show notes

The Lakers got blown out again, this time by the Hawks. The story coming from it is a locker room that has clearly had enough with their head coach. If they want to save this season, Anthony explains what needs to be done and offers up some details on the extent to which Darvin Ham has lost his audience.

Michael Scotto on NBA trade market, Dejounte Murray latest, Lakers rumors Jan 30, 2024

Show notes

Michael Scotto (HoopsHype) makes his Lounge debut to update us on the latest dealings both around the league and with the Lakers specifically. Talks for Dejounte Murray have quieted; will they stay that way? If the Lakers don't trade for him, then what? Why are asking prices so high right now? Has D'Angelo Russell really done enough in a couple weeks to convince the Lakers not to trade him? All that and more.

Darvin Ham has finally turned Anthony into The Joker Jan 30, 2024

Show notes

Anthony loses his mind over Darvin Ham going away from last year's starters and taking another step further toward fully losing the locker room, if it hadn't been lost before this one. Harrison also brings some fire. Just a heads up: Anthony wore full Joker makeup for this, just as promised. You can see that at youtube.com/@lakerslounge.
