SHORTIE: Coronavirus and Quarantainment Mar 16, 2020
    Show notes

Kat and Moose discuss Coronavirus conspiracy theories and how to deal with isolation, loneliness and the newly unexpected time on all our hands. The conversation turns into sharing their favorite books, meditations and tv shows.

Kat reveals the new additions to her vocabulary thanks to the Coronavirus. Pandemic. Social-distancing. Flattening the curve. Moose isn’t mad about staying at home and slowing down. But Kat is mad about the time and energy spent on conspiracy theories. Did you know that Chinese citizens aren’t allowed to have a Twitter account?

Kat learns about the World Military Games and how one theory suggests that military personnel from the US may have brought Coronavirus to Wuhan, China. Who knew that China, Brazil and Russia would be the predominant leaders in the World Military Games?

Moose asks Kat about her activities as the world seems to be shutting down. Kat goes grocery shopping. Moose goes to Walgreens for Benadryl and leaves with sanitary gloves.

What can we do while we are stuck at home? Kat recommends writing your sponsored children through organizations like World Vision, Compassion, Food for the Hungry. The Vlog Brothers released an inspiring vlog about what to do during this time called The Anxious Scroll.

Moose recommends shopping locally, utilizing small businesses. Kat and Moose encourage you to CALL YOUR PEOPLE! Write a letter. Communicate with your family and friends.

Here are some of our favorite things we enjoy while spending time with...ourselves:

SHORTIE: Yoga & Assigning Motive Mar 15, 2020
    Show notes

Kat and Moose discuss embarking on new habits, like Yoga and the conversation evolves into colleagues who assign motive when the assignment is grossly inaccurate. We discuss words that are disturbing, but not inherently bad, though there are a few that Kat deem absolutely unacceptable.

0:54 - Moose talks about starting the practice of Yoga.

1:30 - JoAnna Illingworth’s novel “The Black Umbrella” and how her former writings talked about one man really releasing himself during Yoga class.

3:50 - Kat brings up the topic of assigning motive and how absurd it can be how we assume the intentions and motivations of others. Kat learns that a business colleague was suffering from diarrhea.

8:00 - Let’s not assume we know where the other is coming from; 10/10 we have no idea what the other person is going through

11:41 - Amazing quote from Victor E. Frankl “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

12:50 - There are certain words that just should not be said, like moist, turtleneck … and some others… you’ll have to listen.

17:44 - Jimmy Kelly’s Steakhouse has a formal stance on the Faucon Salad.

19:34 - Moose thinks Kat is Dr. Seuss’ing her!

TRAILER: Kat and Moose Podcast Mar 10, 2020
    Show notes

Hey, I'm Kat and I'm Moose and we're here to tell you what to expect when listening to our podcast. We are two friends who have known each other for over 20 years, and we talk about everything from our therapy appointments to the quirks of the world... and we really relay a lot of intellectual, factual information. We do! I mean, we are an expert podcast where we share facts... we share facts as they are believable in our minds. That is correct. What we hope to invoke is that feeling of going Oh, my gosh, "me too". And this is the part where it says if you like blank, you'll love Kat and Moose. So if you like Oprah or psychology or Brene Brown or numerology, if you like dogs or Liz Gilbert of if you're curious about why the mailman comes at the exact same time every day? We're gonna laugh our faces off because we don't know what we're doing. I'm convinced we're all just children in larger bodies. We're gonna figure it out together.
