What Hast Thou Done? Jun 25, 2019

Show notes

Many of us do things and don’t understand the repercussions of some of our actions. In this episode we discuss the New Zealand shooting where this guy mass-murdered about 50 people and injured around 20 more. This lead us to take it all the way back to the beginning in the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve committed the first sin. They did not understand the seriousness of their actions. They did not know how much trouble they were about to bring into the world. Let’s take a look and see.

Verses Mentioned: Genesis 3:1-13,21, Acts 1:7-8, 2:38, Luke 13:23-24, Matthew 7:13-15

Questions asked during this live stream:

@51:29 Did God already know Adam and Eve would eat of the tree? Why’d He even put it there? If so, why not remove it and remove the temptations?
@1:14:48 - Why doesn’t the younger generation like church and choose to stay away from it? Some say the church is so judgmental. What do you guys think?
@1:21:01 - If someone dies and other people say, “They’re in a better place”, what if that place is in hell?
@1:38:52 - How many times can you repent and still do sinful things?

The Power of God's Word Jun 24, 2019

Show notes

We, as people, sometimes don't realize the power of God's word. We see this from the very beginning of time in Genesis. All God has to do is speak it, and it will happen. We look at God’s word as less than the words of our family, friends, and sometimes even our enemies. Let's look into the Bible and see just how powerful His word is and why we should take His word over anyone else's.

Verses Covered: John 1:1, 10:35, 12:48, Genesis 1:1-11,21-22,26-27, Matthew 8:5-8,13, 22:29, Romans 1:16, Mark 4:30-32, 2 Kings 6:15-17

Black History Jun 24, 2019

Show notes

This was the last day in February 2019, so we thought we’d discuss something from black history. A lot of African Americans want to point the finger at the white man and say that slavery is their fault. We, as people, tend to look any and everywhere, except the Bible, for answers. Who sold who into slavery? We take a deep dive into the Bible to answer this question and many more. Be blessed.

Verses Covered: Song of Solomon 1:1,5-6, Proverbs 4:5-7, Numbers 12:1-8,10, 14:1-11

Being Born Again Pt. 2 Jun 24, 2019

Show notes

This is a continuation of last week’s episode. We covered what it actually means to be born again. Jesus says that baptism in Jesus’ name and getting the gift of the Holy Ghost is necessary for salvation. Many peoples’ rebuttal will be the thieves on the cross. Jesus said He’d see them in heaven. However, the thieves were not baptized. Many people will say that this, along with many other reasons, makes baptism unnecessary for salvation. But this is not true. This episode answers that question and many more. Be blessed!

Verses Covered: John 3:5, 19:31-37, Acts 2:1-4,38, 8:5,12,14-17, 10:44-48, 11:1-4,15, 19:1-3,5, Luke 23:39-43, Hebrews 9:16-22, 1 Corinthians 10:1-2, 14:21-22, Exodus 21:1-3, 22:1-2, 23:1, 24:3-8, Isaiah 28:11-12

Being Born Again Jun 24, 2019

Show notes

Jesus says that we be born again to be saved. But what does ‘being born again’ actually mean? How are we actually saved? Do we just shake the preacher’s hand and repeat the saying, “I believe that Jesus is my personal lord and savior”? Or is it more than that? What about baptism? Is it an outward show of one’s new found life in Christ? Or is it more than that? Is faith alone enough to get into Heaven? We cover all these questions and MUCH more in todays’ episode.

Verses Covered:

1 Corinthians 15:21-22, John 3:1-8, Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 2:1-4,36-39,41, 8:5-6,12-17, 10:44-48, 19:1-6, 1 Peter 3:20-21, Luke 13:23-24, James 2:14-26, Hebrews 11:1-7,24-28, Proverbs 3:5-6, Ephesians 4:4-5, 1 John 5:1-6
