Building a successful online business requires you to overcome challenges and endure consistent bouts of trial and error. There are no 'secret systems' or 'just do what I do' programs that you can buy into that will change this. There are no shortcuts! But, the good news is that the true 'trick' to making your online business work is not about the tools, systems and techniques. It is much deeper than that. Your mindset and your commitment must be in the right place for you to truly achieve success. You must have a strong reason why you are going to endure the challenges in order for you to truly overcome them. It may seem simple that a mindset shift to full commitment is really the answer, but it is. Because, once you fully commit yourself to your internet business, you will be able to look at your challenges as opportunities. You can look at your setbacks and mistakes as allies. Most people just 'dabble' in online marketing... They buy some high dollar courses sold on big promises of effortless riches... They 'try' for a week or two and when they hit their first major challenge or maybe their second (if they happen to be really persistent), they quit... ...And they go around telling all their friends, family members and co-workers 'that whole internet marketing thing doesn't work'. You, on the other hand... Having watched this video, you understand exactly what is required for building a successful business. You aren't blind-sided by challenges and you have an internal motivation force... Better yet, a BURNING DESIRE inside you that drives you to overcome any obstacle, no matter what. Every time. There are so many fake-as gurus who photoshop earning incomes, rent fancy cars and villas to make themselves look more successful than they are on social media and on their sales content. The truth is, there is really only one thing you need to do to make money online... And NO, it is not to 'sign up under me, pay $X,XXX and do what I do.' What I cover here may seem simple... And it is. It is simple, but it is not easy! It takes discipline, persistence and hard work, every day. You must be committed to your goal of building a successful business online or you will eventually fall flat, run out of energy or give up. In my first online business, I ignored this rule... I made some money, but then one day... It all stopped! ...And I had nothing to fall back on! If I knew then what you are learning in this video, then I would have had an asset I could have continued to leverage and I would have still been making money... Not all business models are created equally... I use the term 'lifestyle business' interchangeably with online business because all of the business models covered are online businesses that offer you greater lifestyle freedom than a traditional job. Your Customer Avatar is a big part of step 1 in the Free How To Make Money Online Course: http://milesbeckler.com/make-money-online-step-1-of-3-find-an-audience/ Knowing who you are talking to in your marketing material, emails, podcasts and videos is of the utmost importance. Speaking to one person in all of your copy creates a feeling of connection that will help you build your relationship with your audience faster and easier. Plus, when you understand more about their life you can begin to speak to their particular situation... For example, if you were entering the weight loss niche you would speak to a young mother in her 30's who has an average household income of $50,000 much differently than you would a divorced man in his 50's who earns $150,000 per year. Your customer avatar is not all about the demographics of age, income, gender, married, kids, etc... Although that does play a role. You can also get into the psychographics of your audience. Understanding about their lifestyle, social class, personality, etc will allow you to further understand the internal conversation they are having in their head. When you can communicate with them in a way that is understanding or compassionate to their deepest fears and desires that they only think about... or loose sleep over... You are invited into their experience as a trusted adviser who 'gets them'. It may seem like a waste of time or an exercise that is slowing you down in your path to building out your online business, but I can tell you from experience that the more closely you understand your target market and your audience by having a crystal clear customer avatar, the easier marketing becomes and everything you do will get better results and more conversions. You need to find a niche that excites you and overlaps with what you are already good at so that you can have the excitement needed to build a long term business. Far too many people only choose niches because they think they will be profitable (this is what I did in my first online business) but when challenges present themselves, months or years down the line, if you are not motivated by internal excitement and passion, the odds of you overcoming those challenges go down. The general consensus is you need to find 'something you are passionate about' but this is only partially true. Yes, if you find a niche that you are passionate about, that is a great start, but what if you don't know what you are passionate about? This is where focusing on a long term problem or desire you have can be a great niche selection. Are you overweight and committed to losing weight? Then following your journey is a great option... And once you hit your desired weight you can focus on ongoing wellness, strength training and more. Are you learning to play an instrument? Woodworking? Quilting? These can be great niches if they are something you will be practicing and playing with for years to come! Also, your niche selection can be as simple as looking at what you have developed expertise in, over the last 10 - 20 years in your career. Have you been a customer service manager for 10 years? Have you been a savvy financial planner? Are you a great plumber who can teach people to save hundreds by doing simple jobs on their own? All of these are valid ideas... What you need to do is find where your past knowledge, your passion and your excitement overlap so you can then go research if these are potentially viable niches to market to... In this video we take a step back from the nuts and bolts of how to build a business online and we dig into the most important question you need to ask yourself about building your business online... "Why?" In the process of creating your business online you will be met with challenges that will test you on many levels. You will be pushed up against your perceived limits and you will have to break through your personal resistance to truly build a successful long-term business. Not trying to scare you... Just trying to be real! So when you hit these points of resistance and challenge, there is one thing that will help you persevere beyond them... And that is having a 'Why' that is greater than yourself. Whether it is to have more time with your family, to be able to work and travel, to be able to stay home and raise your kids yourself instead of having them raised by someone you don't really know at day care... These kinds of deep reasons 'Why' you must succeed are the fuel that can power you through the challenges to new heights and ultimately to the success you desire.
