In Defense of Coneheads Jan 31, 2025

Show notes

The wait is finally over. It is time for us to tackle 1993's Coneheads. This movie, based on the classic reoccurring SNL characters played by Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin sits on Rotten Tomatoes at 37% with a Popcorn Meter rating of 38. But why? How? Beldar and Prymatt (Aykroyd and Curtin) find themselves stranded on the planet Earth and on the run from the INS, as they attempt to blend in and start a family while they await rescue from their fellow Remulak - their home planet. But is Remulak really all its cracked up to be? Is Earth more suited to their family now? What about their daughter, Connie? Filled to the brim with SNL cast members, visual gags, and a surprising amount of heart and depth, this movie deserves the status of cult-classic. Let us explain why...

Stay tuned after the show for a candid discussion about our opinions on the current state of 'UFOlogy' and the testimony of whistleblower, Jake Barber.

In Defense of Deck the Halls Dec 11, 2024

Show notes

Ho Ho Ho! Welcome to December! We hope you're ready to get into the spirit of the season with this classic Christmas movie featuring Matthew Broderick, Danny Devito, Kristin Chenoweth and Kristin Davis. Buddy Hall, played by Devito is tired of being a measly salesman bouncing from one gig to the next. He wants to do something BIG that will make a difference in people's lives. When his daughters, Ashley and Emily (played by Kelly and Sabrina Aldridge respectively) alert him to the fact that their new house is the only house in the neighborhood that can't be seen from space, Buddy hatches a plan to spend every last penny he has decorating his house to make it as bright and elaborate as possible. The townsfolk love it, all except for his neighbor across the street: Steve Finch, the stick-in-the-mud control-freak played by Broderick. It's a head-to-head Christmas neighborhood showdown! Is it worth the lousy 6% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes? Come along with us and find out!
