This week I sat down with Dan Dobies. Dan has been working at St Augustine Cemetery for 16 years. Every since I watched zombie movies like Night of the Living Dead, I've always been creeped out by cemeteries. The more and more I thought about it I would find myself wondering, what type of people work in the cemetery? Who digs the grave? Who takes care of the grounds? I just have always been facinated by it, so I looked to trusty ole facebook and made a post saying I wanted to find a Grave Digger. Sure enough, within two minutes of my post, I got three recommendations and knew Dan was the guy. We talk about everything from him living at the cemetery to how a typical day in his life unfolds. He's definitely a cool dude. I hope you enjoy the episode.

This week I sat down with Ricky Dick or known by many as 'Gravely MacCabre' the Head Caretaker at my favorite haunted house in the city, Castle Blood. Castle Blood has been in business for 26 years. The Castle is an interactive, story intensive haunt that allows the guest to participate, and still get the shit scared out of them along the way. From puzzles to riddles to magic, the Castle is full of awesome surprises. Ricky and I talked about everything from how he fell in love with Halloween, how he got started on this interesting path he's carved out for himself, how he continues to make the Castle such a unique experience every year, and so much more. I couldn't have been happier with our conversation. I've been attending annually for as long as I've known about Castle Blood and I've never been disappointed. The passion from all the actors and the attention to detail within the Castle are fantastic. This week I sat down with Macabre Noir of The Weeping Glass to talk about her shop, The Scarehouse, Atrocity Exhibition X, and SO MUCH MORE. The Weeping Glass is an Oddity and Antique shop. I saw the name on the building and checked out their social media to see what kind of things they sold and I was immediately interested. I've driven by it numerous times and haven't been able to check it out until last night before the interview. It is FILLED with so many awesome things from Coffin Nails, Creepy Dolls, Animal Skeletons, Old Medical Kits, Art, Dental Tools and so much more. I just really wanted to know how someone got involved with selling Oddities and cool stuff like that and I learned so much more. When I got to the shop I was pleasantly surprised with our first ever second guest. Lilith DeVille was there preparing for their next big event on October 19th called Atrocity Exhibition X. DeVille has been friends and worked with Macabre for many years and he jumped on the Mic at the end to help her explain what exactly Atrocity is. This podcast was SO FUCKING AWESOME. I was overwhelmed by everything we talked about and I learned so much. I know you'll love this episode as much as I did.

I'll Call You Right Back #37 - John Merranko Sep 20, 2018

This week I sat down with my cousin John Merranko. John & I have known each other forever obviously. In fact, some of my most memorable moments as a child have involved this kid and his brother, Peter. John grew up very differently than I did. He grew up in the Mountains near Seven Springs Resort and I grew up in a neighborhood in McKeesport. I wanted to have him on to talk about the differences with growing up in a big neighborhood compared to living on a 69 Acre farm like he did. We talk working hard on the farm his entire life even to this day and about all the stuff we used to do to keep us entertained as kids like Nerf Wars all over his property, Skateboarding, Not having the internet, and Playing 1 vs 1 paintball in his woods and how that even works. We also talk about his father who was a Narcotics Police Officer in Washington DC when it was the murder capital of the world and he tells me some awesome stories that his dad told him. Fascinating stuff for real. I loved talking to John. He's always going to be one of my bestfriend's. I hope you enjoy this crazy episode and all the crazy stories along the way.
