Episode 208: The Agony of Being a Kings Fan Oct 25, 2022

Show notes

The Sacramento Kings have lost their first three games and many of the fans are already jumping off the ship. There are 79 games remaining, correct? I guess that is either good, or bad! On today's episode I read some responses to my rant on the team's poor defense. The season is one week old, and many fans are convinced it is the same 'ole Kings. Defensively, I would agree, but I think the talent level on this team is much better than a season ago. As they say time will tell!

Grant's Rant: 10-25-22 Stop With NBA Rookie of Year Talk! Oct 25, 2022

Show notes

The NBA season is one week young, and fans are already talking about the Kings rookie Keegan Murray and ROY. Can we please stop with that nonsense. Can we please at least wait a few months? There is no question the kid is talented, but let the season play out a bit please. Also, based on the first three, or four games, this rookie class looks pretty darn good!

Grant's Rant: 10-24-22 Same 'Ole Kings Oct 24, 2022

Show notes

The Kings are off to an 0- 3 start. Once again all we hear about is defense, defense and defense and then the game starts and there is no defense. Last night they allowed 89 points in the first half and lost 130-125 to the Warriors. The talent appears to be better than on last year's team, but the results are the same! There are a lot of games left, but the Kings better be careful, or their season will be over before we get to Thanksgiving!

Grant's Rant: 10-21-22 Yankees Embarrassing Manager Oct 21, 2022

Show notes

Let me get this straight. The Yankees just lost two games in Houston and struck out 30 times. After last night's loss Yankee skipper Aaron Boone said the open rook killed them on Aaron Judge's fly ball in the 8th. Really? Your team struck out 30 times and you have the nerve to talk about the roof being open? No words!

Episode 207: A Tribute to NBA Ref Tony Brown and Officials Everywhere Oct 21, 2022

Show notes

We lost a great man yesterday. NBA referee Tony Brown's incredible battle with cancer ended at the age of 55. I got to know Tony pretty well and have been in contact with him as he fought this nasty battle with pancreatic cancer. I share some texts that I had with Tony and officiating in general. I think sometimes we as sports fans forget the men and women officiating our games are human beings too. They aren't perfect and neither are we! Rest in peace Tony!

Grant's Rant: 10-20-22 Kings New Defense? Oct 20, 2022

Show notes

The Kings lost their opener last night to the Trailblazers in front of a capacity crowd. All I've been hearing about is the "new" Kings defense. Really? You mean allowing 32 points in the first quarter and 30+ points in 3 of the 4 quarters...that new defense? Yes Kings rookie Keegan Murray didn't play, but that was a bad loss! Period!
