Episode 210: Awful Week For The NBA Nov 04, 2022

Show notes

This has been an awful week for Adam Silver's league. The NBA looks bad, Kyrie Irving looks bad, and the Brooklyn Nets look bad. On today's podcast i read two columns from the NY Post that to me hit the nail right on the head. Both Phil Mushnick and Mike Vacarro write about several things regarding Irving and both writers rip Silver! I have been talking about this for many months. The Commish has become a puppet. Time to start running your league again!

Grant's Rant: 11-04-22 Kyrie=Embarrassment Nov 04, 2022

Show notes

Does anyone feel sorry for the Nets Kyrie Irving? The Nets threw Irving a life raft and he decided not to get in it. Yesterday Irving spoke to the media, but once again did not apologize for his anti-Semitic rhetoric. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made a terse statement after Irving spoke to the media and the Nets followed that up with a suspension. Three hours later, Irving finally apologized via Instagram. Too late in my opinion!

Grant's Rant: 11-03-22 Kings Screwed at The End Nov 03, 2022

Show notes

Last night the Kings lost to the Heat 110-107. Tyler Hero made a three at the end to win it for the Heat. The only problem was he took four steps. The basket should not have counted. Bad job by the three refs to miss that call! At the end of the game you can't miss a call like that! Period!

Grant's Rant: 11-02-22 Major Props to TNT Nov 02, 2022

Show notes

Great job by the crew on TNT last night. Charles Barkley had strong comments regarding the Nets Kyrie Irving and his antisemitic comments over the weekend. Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal didn't hold back as they ripped Irving, the Nets, and the NBA. TNT analyst Reggie Miller also hit it out of the park when he called the NBA players "crickets" for remaining silent on this. Of course, we haven't heard a word from "King Cricket" Lebron James. James only speaks when racism is involved! Disgraceful!

Episode 209: Kyrie=NBA Embarrassment Nov 01, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode I talk about Kyrie Irving of the Nets and his recent stance regarding a film dealing in countless antisemitic tropes. I talk about the NBA's hypocritical statement they released a few days ago and share some personal viewpoints on hate in this world. I always love to use renowned author Mitch Albom and his simple viewpoint' you can't be selective with your noise, not against hate". Unfortunately, too many are selective with their noise against hate. As far as Irving goes, I don't know how anyone can root for the guy!
