Grant's Rant: 11-2-21 Sac Kings Red Flag Numbers Nov 02, 2021

Show notes

Yes it is early, but the Kings are off to a pretty good start at 3-3. That's the good news. The bad news is DeAaron Fox looks awful and the team's point differential is minus 2.8. As I said I need more than six games to make concrete observations, but that is a number that must go from red to green if the Kings are to make the playoffs.

Episode 114: NBA And Kings Early Red Flag Numbers Nov 02, 2021

Show notes

It is difficult to make too many concrete observations after two weeks oh the NBA season, but one alarming trend to me is 3pt attempts and percentage. The game continues to move away from the basket. Do you like that, because I don't! If you are a Sacramento Kings fans there are two things you should be concerned about. The first is point differential. The Kings have a minus 2.8 in that department. That is not good! Generally speaking all playoff teams are in the green at the end of the season. The other is DeAaron Fox and his poor play. You can be an optimist and say the Kings are 3-3 despite his poor start, or you can wonder if he will ever be a consistent shooter. Currently I would choose the latter as the biggest concern!

Grant's Rant: 11-1-21 White Lightning In New York Nov 01, 2021

Show notes

Had you heard of Mike white before yesterday? White started at QB for the Jets and was 37-45 for 405 yards and 3 TD's. White who played in place of the injured Zach Wilson had the fans chanting out his name....a big difference from the boos that Wilson has been receiving. One game doesn't make a career, but it was very impressive. Let's see how White does Thursday vs the Colts!

Episode 113: Awful Portrayal Of George Floyd Oct 29, 2021

Show notes

On October 26th Michelle Malkin an American conservative political reporter wrote a story on me titled " Grant Napear's life matters". I was grateful for the story and thought she did a great job except for one paragraph. Her portrayal of George Floyd was unnecessary and just plain inappropriate! I discuss that plus I read a review from Apple Podcasts from a listener who wrote about racism.

Grant's Rant: 10-29-21 We Need More Information NFL Oct 29, 2021

Show notes

On Tuesday long time NFL writer and TV personality Mike silver announced he was leaving the NFL Network and NFL.com to work with Bally Sports. Minutes later he had an exclusive story about Houston Texans Chairman and CEO Cal McNair using the term " China Virus" at a charity golf tournament. The problem is the words were said five months ago. Why didn't Mike talk about this on the NFL Network? Sounds fishy to me1

Grant's Rant: 10-28-21 Turnover Machine Named Russ Oct 28, 2021

Show notes

The Lakers blew a 26 point lead last night and Russell Westbrook was ejected at the end of the game. He was unhappy with Darius Bazley's dunk with 1.5 seconds remaining. Maybe Russ should worry more about his turnovers. He had a quadruple double last night with ten turnovers....the game before that vs Memphis he turned the ball over nine times. Seems to me Russ and the Lakers have more to worry about than a dunk at the end of the game!

Grant's Rant: 10-27-21 New Commish For NFL? Oct 27, 2021

Show notes

The NFL is having their owner's meetings and commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell said the NFL's investigation into the Washington Football team won't be released. Why not? So you are telling me the only emails leaked involved the Raiders and Jon Gruden? Goodell also said they need more time for the Deshaun Watson investigation. How about we do an investigation on Goodell and his office? The league has been an embarrassment under his watch the past several years!
