Grant's Rant: 3-31-22 49ers QB Dilemma Mar 31, 2022

Show notes

The 49ers are trying to put the best possible spin on their quarterback position, but bottom line, it is a tough position to be in. Everyone expected Jimmy Garoppolo to be traded by now, but shoulder surgery has derailed that for now. A year ago the 49ers gave up a ransom to move up in the draft so they could select Trey lance. This week at the league meetings in Florida we heard from GM John Lynch and HC Kyle Shanahan and they both tried putting the best foot forward on the situation. Regardless of how you feel about the situation, it is hard not see Lance starting in September. The 49ers have put themselves in the situation of sinking or swimming with Lance.

Grant's Rant: 3-3-22 NFL Rule Change Mar 30, 2022

Show notes

The NFL has adopted a rule change for the post-season. Each team will have a least one possession. Why didn't the league do the same for the regular season? Would that have killed anyone? I like the rule change for the playoffs, but would love to see some consistency with this?. What do you think?

Episode 155: Lia Thomas Controversy Mar 29, 2022

Show notes

Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas has generated a lot of controversy as a top swimmer Penn's women's team. On today's show I try and prevent both side of the controversy. I start off reading some excerpts from the Independent. Their story feels Thomas does not have an unfair advantage. Former Olympic champion, and transgender woman Caitlyn Jenner has been very critical of Thomas. I discuss that and get into common sense as it relates to this. Is this about common sense, or is it about science? Maybe a little of both? I read what I thought was an excellent column by Phil Mushnick of the New York Post regarding common sense on this issue. One thing is for certain...this issue isn't going away. There needs to be a balance that everyone can agree on when it comes to fair competition in sports.

Grant's Rant: 3-29-22 Come on Andy Reid!! Mar 29, 2022

Show notes

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid must have a completely different viewpoint of what it takes to live on than most of us. Yesterday he said this about Tyreke Hill who was traded to the Dolphins, "...he's a family man that has a few kids and he's got to be able to support them now and down the road, and this gives him an opportunity to do that." Come on now coach!!!!! Hill made over 15 million last year. I have no issues with Hill getting more money, but please stop it Andy!!!!

Grant's Rant: 3-28-22 Kings Embarrassments Mar 28, 2022

Show notes

The Kings have played well as of late. Davion Mitchell has stepped in for the injured De'Aaron Fox and has looked very good! Now that the top 10 in the conference is out of reach the Kings start winning and looking good. Go figure! Off the court it hasn't been a good week for the franchise and that's the topic of today's rant!

Grant's Rant: 3-25-22 NYC Gone Crazy Mar 25, 2022

Show notes

So let me get this straight. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now allowing unvaccinated athletes and other entertainers to return to work, but not the rest of the residents if they are unvaccinated. How absurd is this? This is a travesty!

Episode 154: World Gone Crazy! Mar 25, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode I discuss the political brainwashing by ESPN, money and power and sports and a tribute to John Clayton who passed away this week. Last Friday during a Women's NCAA basketball game the announcers jammed down the viewers throats their opinion of Florida's " Don't Say Gay" bill. I discuss how absurd this is and why I am boycotting ESPN. I also talk about why so many of our professional athletes misbehave towards the fans. Their is no recourse that's why! I also give a tribute to John Clayton who I had the pleasure of working with back in the late 90's.
