    Topics: iBUG announcements; potential scam – Apple Support calls to say your account is compromised; most companies will not call you directly in the event of a problem; also can change your Apple ID password; creating event in calendar; use Siri to create calendar event; use Voice Memos to make a note of appointment or create a reminder; setting up a reminder; using app called VO Calendar allows you to make a recording on a specific date; turning VoiceOver off on Bluetooth keyboard, VoiceOver Key and H three times; app for air fryer, received a *download in progress* message; hard reset solves problems on iPhone; turning on shutter sound in camera app; turning off the Raise to wake, go to settings, display, raise to wake, toggle; tap to wake; Seeing AI World View feature available on iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and 2020 iPad Pro; image recognition has improved; live photo explained; customizing sounds under settings, VoiceOver, Audio, and sounds and haptics; bug with initiating a three-way call, only works if add third caller the first time, or else have to exit app and start over; reading information off twitter; ability to share someone:s post depends on their privacy setting; saving Zoom link in a calendar event; if you received a formal Zoom invitation, you can add zoom link to calendar, otherwise , a simple Zoom link in an e-mail must be added separately to calendar; copying a Facebook post – let VoiceOver finish reading, then three-finger quadruple tap; two-finger tap and hold, label feature, may be possible to three-finger quadruple tap without having VoiceOver read the whole text; adding callers- Verison may have upper limit of 3 callers, other providers like AT&T and Sprint allow up to five callers; powering off iPhone 11, hold volume up power button for a few seconds, here vibration; and slide to power off, emergency SOS, or cancel; tap side button five times to trigger SOS feature – this feature can be toggled on or off; if use Siri to call 911, be sure to say Call 911 with speaker phone; setting up Voice Mail, asking for pass code; hard to trigger fall detection on Apple Watch, very few falls are detected; if hold down top volume button and power button, may trigger count down to emergency service, hear a siren; can notify friends and family simultaneously when calling 911, they will receive a map of where you are; creating a mailing list – go to notes app, create list of e-mails, separated by comma and space, go to mail app, create new contact, enter name, then copy list of e-mails from notes app into e-mail address field.

    Topics: iBUG announcements; text message failed to send to Android phone; recommendation for Speed Test app; speedtest.net on web; making cellular calls on iPad if iPhone is nearby, enable wifi calling, must be on same wifi network; purchasing movie on iTunes, using touch id to authenticate purchase; VoiceOver freezing up, solution triple click power button to toggle VoiceOver on and off; volume controls for ringers and VoiceOver; for ringer volume, set ringer volume to 100%, then turn off the change volume with side buttons; when on Zoom call, VoiceOver volume is low, three-finger double tap will fix the problem; audio ducking explained; touch id and pass codes, can toggle iTunes and App Store off; navigating Bard by bookmarks or chapters, not by page; Learning Ally navigable by page; Voice Dream Reader with Book Share book is navigable by page; setting up group on Messenger app; new chat, add friends, next button, and name the group; when read e-mail message, VoiceOver says “swipe down for custom action, then double tap,”- can turn off rotor action, this means you cannot swipe up to delete etc.; rotor versus rotor action; using One Tap Mobile on Zoom call, disconnects when answering a second call; try Zoom app, and when call comes in, can accept other calls; SE 2020 battery life is not very good; turning off haptics helps battery life; using Siri to answer calls; cannot use Siri to answer a call, maybe use Voice Control; auto answer feature, answers all calls; setting of group in Messenger, new message, search or select friends, choose done, rename the group; recording audio message in Messenger app, double tap on record button, swipe to right, tap on second record button; playing Apple music if not on wifi; go to setting, music, and enable cellular data, then can access cloud music anywhere without wifi; can download music to your iPhone; when listening to a song, swipe up and choose download; how to watch Jeopardy on your iPhone; Lowcast app; Comcast, use Stream app to watch on iPhone; YouTube TV, $40 per month; Sling TV 200 channels $20 per month; Spectrum App; Comcast, record Jeopardy, then watch on iPhone; streaming services give you access on all devices, YouTube TV $65 per month; customizing which apps are off loaded; optimize storage should be turned off to prevent random off loading of apps; if you have Optimize Storage on, then if you have not used an app in a long time, it will automatically off load the app; if you want the app, have to download it again.

    Topics: iBUG announcements; recommendations and deciding factors when upgrading to new iPhone – cost, storage, battery life, availability of lidar; Apple may stop selling iPhone 12 Minis; iPhone 13 will most likely all have lidar; sending a group message that includes an Android user; enable text message as well as iMessages; if SMS is turned off, cannot send message to Android user; turn off Bluetooth, when having conductivity issues; in iOS 14.4 can define a device as a headset under Bluetooth settings; managing storage on iPhone, whether to upgrade iCloud storage; configuring iCloud; making FaceTime calls on iPad; posting to iBUG Facebook group page; find create post button; activating hand off; accessing folder on i-Cloud Drive; can toggle iCloud Drive on and off; more drastic step is sign completely our of iCloud; answering a second call on iPhone, three buttons, end and accept, hold and accept, and decline or ignore; BARD moved files to the cloud, so will have quicker downloads; new settings in BARD, automatic play and 5-second rewind; iOS 14.4 and Braille displays; Kindle skipping pages on Braille display; work around – turn off automatic panning; sharing a contact card; how to turn off punctuation on iPhone; if activities is in rotor, can accidentally turn on programming, which causes VoiceOver to read all punctuation; iOS bug, can go to VoiceOver, activities, programming, and verbosity; text selection; demo of selecting text; need to add text selection to rotor; make sure text selection and edit are next to each other in rotor; enabling spoken content when selecting text; Things app – organizing your life beyond the calendar, has journaling capabilities; can use Drafts App and Day One for journals; VoiceOver, Braille, turn off automatic panning; automatic panning v. automatic scrolling in iOS 14; sharing Facebook post; scheduling posts as an admin on a Facebook account; sending a text message with a Zoom link; iOS is creating two separate messages; iOS creates a smart link, that says join Zoom meeting.
