    • The Upcountry History Museum in Greenville, South Carolina, has a new exhibit, “Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice”

    In dinosaur news this week:

    • A new sauropodomorph, Ledumahadi mafube, was the largest dinosaur of its time despite still having a "crouched" posture
    • A ceratopsian at the Smithsonian has been called Triceratops, Diceratops, and Nedoceratops
    • In Villány, Hungary (a wine region), bone fragments of a small igaunodont have been found
    • New fossils have been found in Saskatchewan, Canada this summer, including an Edmontosaurus skull, Triceratops bones, Gorgosaurus teeth, and ankylosaur fossils
    • In Eastern Cape, in South Africa, scientists recently found a giant dinosaur bonebed. It’s about 200 million years old, and the animals were buried together by lots of mud
    • Good news for Zuul fans, the ankylosaur goes on display at the Royal Ontario Museum on December 15
    • Researchers are recreating part of the Brazil National Museum’s collection with 3D printers
    • Students aged 11-15 made a large part of the new Idaho Dinosaur Exhibit at the Idaho Museum of Natural History, as part of the Dino Camps they attended this summer
    • A STEM lab at Schuyler-Colfax Middle School allows the school to have a lesson plan where students dissect dinosaurs in "ZSPACE" virtual reality
    • Dinosaur Ecosystems, Hong Kong University’s free online course, is back! It started September 14, and there are new field trips to Canada, Spain, France, and the desert of Xinjiang, China
    • Dino 101 also recently got an update
    • There’s a new series for CBBC, called Deadly Dinosaurs demonstrating the power of dinosaurs
    • Mashable published a video of the puppeteers who worked on the dinosaurs in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
    • Speculation about Jurassic World 3 includes the idea that there may be dinosaurs in space

    Bonitasaura - Episode 199 Sep 19, 2018

    • A new nodosaurid ankylosaur, Invictarx zephyri, was named based on osteoderms found in New Mexico
    • A review of Ornithischian dinosaurs in the Morrison Formation synonymized a few and split out another named Dryosaurus elderae
    • Visitors to Crystal Palace Park got to get close to the dinosaurs last weekend for Heritage Open Days
    • Three of the 30 dinosaur statues in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada, were recently damaged
    • Chrome used a dinosaur for their 404 error page because dinosaurs didn't have internet
    • On September 18, Universal Pictures and Facebook launched an AR experience for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to coincide with the DVD release

    • Three juveniles of a new iguanodontian species named Choyrodon barsboldi were found in Mongolia
    • A new Amargasaurus relative named Pilmatueia faundezi was found in Argentina
    • A fire destroyed most of the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro taking with it part of the Iritator holotype, Maxakalisaurus, and many other important fossils
    • They have requested anyone with photos of the exhibits to send them to thg.museo@gmail.com
    • The Museum of Prehistory in Brabant, Netherlands, will be presented with a new Diplodocus skeleton on October 10
    • Cincinnati Museum Center in Ohio is getting a 55% complete 30 ft long Torvosaurus skeleton in November
    • A T. rex skeleton nicknamed Roosevelt is on display at the Erin Martin Design showroom in Napa County, CA
    • A single industrial park in China is responsible for most of the dinosaur animatronics created in the world
    • A family in Great Falls, Montana created a mini sauropod sculpture
    • Google Chrome created a birthday edition of the running T. rex to celebrate its 10th anniversary
    • Mattel released an interactive robotic velociraptor toy called "Alpha Training Blue"

    • Walking with Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular has gone on tour in Europe, with some of the most impressive dinosaur animatronics ever made
    • Expedition: Dinosaur, will be at Grand Rapids Public Museum starting October 14. There will be life sized animatronic dinosaurs, and visitors will be able to control some of them
    • Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History got a $160 million donation from Edward P. Bass, a billionaire and philanthropist who graduated from Yale in 1967
    • Congrats to Drumheller’s World’s Largest Dinosaur Structure which reached two million visitors
    • In Sibay, Russia,a welder caught a T. rex on fire at an amusement park
    • A couple got engaged on the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios Hollywood after riding it 62 times, breaking the park record
    • A fiberglass T. rex head is for sale on Okaloosa Island, in Florida
    • Parkasaurus, a sim where you can build your own dinosaur park, is opening up early access on Steam September 25

    Scelidosaurus - Episode 196 Aug 29, 2018

    Dinosaur of the day Scelidosaurus, the first dinosaur described based on a mostly complete skeleton, and an important ancestor to Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus.

    • Over 260 dinosaur tracks (mostly sauropodomorph) were found in southwest China and may show sauropodomorphs swimming
    • In Alaska, therizinosaur and hadrosaur tracks were found together for the first time
    • Dinosaur footprints have been found for the first time on the Scottish mainland
    • A closed mine in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument may reopen, risking damage to dinosaur fossils
    • The University of Alberta is holding a "Dinosaur Dentistry" event on Saturday, September 22
    • The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum is looking for volunteers for their fossil preparation lab, to help clean and prepare Pachyrhinosaurus fossils
    • National Fossil day is coming up, October 17 this year here's a list of some of the events scheduled so far
    • Scotty the T. rex celebrated her birthday at the Discovery Centre in Easton, Saskatchewan, Canada, with a fun mock interview
    • Mary Anning is getting a statue in Lyme Regis, at the request of a 10-year-old girl
    • Paleontologist Xing Lida has a science fiction book out in China, called You Long Ji: Prehistoric Intruder
    • Earth Science in Cinema at the University of Utah, will explore the relationship between storytelling and scientific accuracy in Hollywood
    • Jurassic Outpost created a visual guide to the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park(s) and Jurassic World(s)
    • Jurassic Park will be in 500 theaters around the U.S. next month to celebrate its 25th anniversary

    • Juvenile hadrosaurs bones have been found in the Spring Creek bone bed near the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum in Grande Prairie
    • The Queensland Museum in Australia is 3D scanning its collection of fossils and will share its research with Australian students and international scientists
    • Dinosaur Hill in Fruita, Colorado has some new signs to teach people about the historical importance of the area
    • Ohio State University’s Orton Hall Museum is getting a Cryolophosaurus cast to display on October 7
    • Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History in Texas has some new fossils, including a full sized cast of a Triceratops skull
    • From now until September 9, you can see the “Tyrannosaurus Exhibit: The mystery of evolution” at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum in Naha, Japan
    • The Bolton Museum in Bolton, UK, recently officially nicknamed their Tuojiangosaurus skeleton "Jango"
    • Smithsonian Mag wrote an elegy for Hatcher the Triceratops which will soon be on display being eaten by a T. rex
    • A list of dinosaur games includes Magic School Bus: Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Island, Jurassic Park: Danger, Dino Frontier, and Ark: Survival Evolved.
    • The new game, Jurassic World VR Expedition is available to play in Dave & Busters
    • According to J.A. Bayona, E.T. inspired the really sad Brachiosaurus death scene in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
    • A group of US military veterans made a Jurassic World fan film called "Jurassic World Exodus"

    • College Humor created a video showing Jurassic Park scenes with other prehistoric creatures.
    • The New Zealand Mint has a colored, official, Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary 1oz silver coin for sale for $85 USD.
    • The board game “Jurassic Park: Danger” was released by Ravensburger where one person plays as the dinosaurs trying to eat the human players.
