    IHGB #119 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 8 Jul 04, 2019
    Show notes

    Hey everyone !

We’re doing things a little differently on the podcast today. I thought y’all would rather listen to Some Guy in Austin and I debate a few issues that popped up after what will forever go down as THE WINDMILL EPISODE.

Who will be the odd man out after hometowns?
How did Garrett turn into such a chach right before our eyes?
Could Mike be the next bachelor?

And of the remaining suitors, which one did the hokey pokey in a windmill?

    I HAVE A THEORY!!!

    IHGB #118 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 7 Jun 26, 2019
    Show notes

    Hey y’all!

So many of you have messaged me to say that you can’t wait to hear what Some Guy in Austin and I have to say about this episode, thanks to a certain jack wagon who is still on the cast roster.

I’ll admit that we do discuss this particular glitch in Hannah’s brain in some detail, but what we really focus on is the phenomenon known as naked bungee jumping.

    1. Do you think this is truly a Latvian tradition?
    2. Would you do it?
    3. If so, how would you prevent chaffing or harness burn?

We also talk about the likelihood of the camera man passing out in the naughty sauna and if Tyler confuses real pants with baseball pants.

Stay in your lane, people. Don’t text and drive.

IHGB #117 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Ep 6 and BIP Season 6 Cast Reveal Jun 19, 2019
    Show notes

    Hey y’all!

I know you’re listening today to hear an entertaining recap on The Bachelorette, but truth be told, it was the worst episode ever. What are you supposed to do when the show dedicates 40 minutes of Luke drama and an hour of recapping?

Back off, ABC. People come to my website and podcast to read/hear a stellar bachelorette recap, thankyouverymuch.

    Stop cramping my style.

Some Guy in Austin and I had a hard time deciding what to talk about this episode. We discussed Luke, what Some Guy calls “Hannah’s meltdown” and what I call “Hannah’s soapbox” moment. Then Luke again, Harrison’s hug and pocket square (I’d hug those shoulders). Luke once more and Harrison’s manufactured fireside chat.

    And, of course, Luke

We also dive into the cast of Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. I’m eager to watch Demi stake her claim in some guy (probably Blake). I’m hopeful that Annaleise finds love (so she won’t ever come on the show again) and I’m so happy to see that Keith/Kevin’s shoulder is better. I can’t wait to hear him speak.

Pass the Germ Squirt, people. Paradise is back.

    EPISODE NOTES

I mention an article about one of the producers on the show who is GOOD LOOKING. Someone over at Cosmopolitan did their research!

    IHGB #116 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 5 Jun 14, 2019
    Show notes

We are halfway through Bachelorette Hannah’s journey to find love and I’m concerned that I still don’t which one is Dustin. Wait…Devin. It’s Devin. I couldn’t pick Devin out of a lineup. Or is in Dylan?

I blame Luke P. for this lack of awareness.

Some Guy in Austin and I break it all down in this episode. We decide:

    1. If Big Mike and Hannah REALLY like each other.
    2. Hannah’s naughtiness on a pool table during a cocktail party.
    3. And what exactly is Luke P. trying to clarify for twenty minutes.

We also dedicate some significant time to the quintessential highlander: JAMIE FRASER.

    I’ll be your Sassenach…

    IHGB #115 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 4 Jun 06, 2019
    Show notes

Raise your hand if you’re worried about Bachelorette Hannah? The girl is majorly on the struggle bus and it doesn’t look like she’s hopping off any time soon.

Some Guy in Austin and I share our theories on why she cried big, snotty tears this week:

    1. She’s head over heels in love with Luke P.
    2. She’s quickly learning that Luke P. is a major jack wagon.
    3. She’s afraid that her man picker is broken. How can she love a chach?

I’m concerned that she doesn’t know what a red flag looks like. Perhaps if they made them crimson-colored, she’d pay more attention.

    Roll Tide!

    EPISODE NOTES

    IT’S RED ROSS!

IHGB #114 -- It's a Love Story: My Big Fat Greek Wedding Jun 03, 2019
    Show notes

I’m excited for you to listen to this episode with my sister Jamie, but I have to disclaim a few things first before you dive in:

    1. We laugh at the beginning. It was around midnight and we were delirious and had a hard time pulling it together to record. I left it in there as a cold open because a little sister’s job is to embarrass her big sister whenever possible. You’re welcome, Jamie.
    2. You can hear Mama in the background scolding us for not acting professional.
    3. You’ll also hear a train come through not once, but twice. It’s just a downfall of recording in the country. I would say “ignore it!” but our family’s natural instinct is to say “TRAIN” whenever we hear the whistle blow because it’s happens multiple times a day. I didn’t even remember saying it until I edited the episode. Fun times!

    Moving on…

I’m so glad Jamie picked My Big Fat Greek Wedding as one of her favorite romcoms of all time. It’s one I often forget about, but after watching it again and having this conversation, I can see why she went there.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding taught us that a bundt cake can be fixed by adding a potted plant to the hole in the middle. It also taught us that the man may be the head of the household, but the woman is the neck and can turn the head any way she wants.

And finally, whether it’s a pimple or a mosquito bite, most ailments can be cured by squirting a little Windex on it.

    IHGB #113 -- Summer Movie Preview 2019 Jun 02, 2019
    Show notes

Houston feels like the surface of the sun right now, so that means summer heat waves have officially hit our town. I anticipate we won’t get any relief until Hallmark Christmas movies hit around October. Therefore, we must take action and find sanctuary in cool places during these next few months.

I’m talking about movie theaters, people.

My friend Todd and I discuss our top summer picks in this episode. We’ve got a superhero saga, a animated flick, a live action phenomenon based off of a beloved cartoon, an extravagant biopic, and a Quentin Tarantino’s ninth studio film that I personally will not be seeing even though it has Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in starring roles.

I love you both, boys, but this summer I choose toys and the Spider-Man. I hope you understand.

    EPISODE NOTES

    Todd’s Picks:

    Rocketman

    Plus One

    Yesterday

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    Lincee’s Picks:

    The Lion King

    Late Night

    Toy Story 4

    Spider-Man Far From Home

    IHGB #112 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 3 May 29, 2019
    Show notes

Well, Bachelorette Hannah is well on her way to an emotional breakdown as she journeys to find love and I have to say, I found this episode thoroughly entertaining.

Some Guy in Austin and I break down the three dates and discuss:

    1. What happened to Tebow Tyler?
    2. Could Hannah have mono?
    3. And do we believe she is going to CALL THE SHOTS when it comes to Luke?

Are you rooting for the guy who lost an appendage and his puppy in the same day? Or will you cheer on the boy-next-door pilot who knows how to properly execute a wall kiss?

Spoiler: WALL KISS. Always pick wall kiss! It will never let you down.

IHGB #111 -- It's a Love Story: When Harry Met Sally with Janice Dean May 27, 2019
    Show notes

We just have a few more episodes of the love story series, which is sponsored by my new book It’s a Love Story. CONVENIENTLY ON SALE NOW!

In this episode, my friend Janice Dean joins me! Janice is the senior meteorologist at FOX News, and a recent NYT bestselling author for her book Mostly Sunny. She’s an MS advocate, devoted wife and mother, and lover of romcoms.

Janice went OLD SCHOOL and chose one of the most iconic romcoms of all time, When Harry Met Sally!

And I totally understand why. It’s a classic! Just listen to this synopsis:

In 1977, college graduates Harry Burns and Sally Albright share a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York, during which they argue about whether men and women can ever truly be strictly platonic friends. Ten years later, Harry and Sally meet again at a bookstore, and in the company of their respective best friends, Jess and Marie (played by the amazing Carrie Fisher), they attempt to stay friends without sex becoming an issue between them.

When Harry Met Sally taught us that’s it’s okay to order things “on the side” and that keeping a can of hair spray in your glove compartment is just smart. We also learned that no matter how cool you think it is, that Roy Rogers wagon wheel coffee table is ugly.

Accept that now and you will thank me later.

    EPISODE NOTES

Here’s a review I did for Janice’s book Mostly Sunny!

Here’s the trailer for When Harry Met Sally.

And here’s a link to the amazing Harry Connick, Jr. playing the entire soundtrack!

    IHGB #110 -- Bachelorette Hannah Recap Episode 2 May 23, 2019
    Show notes

    Hey ya’ll

It’s episode two of Bachelorette Hannah’s season and things are already getting steamy. Some Guy in Austin and I break down the three dates and discuss:

    1. Do cowboy boots and speedos go together?
    2. Is Tyler G. a real contestant or just a robot without a personality?
    3. Can we change Cam’s acronym to “Always Be Chacchin’?”

Are you rooting for the guy with the twelve pack set of abs who professed his love thirty-six hours after meeting her?

Or will you cheer on the guitar-playing musician with crooked hero hair who didn’t have a clue that there was a secret grotto on the grounds of the mansion where people who are twitter-pated go to make out?

Twitter-pated is a word. I learned it from Bambi. Thanks Walt Disney!
