EP304: Why Salon International 2023 is a Must-Go Event for all Hairdressers and Barbers, with Jez Barnett Oct 09, 2023
Show notes In this episode, we celebrate Salon International’s 50th year and its special role in our hairdressing journey. Plus we are to be sharing our excitement of bringing the HTCI Platform live stage supported by INNOluxe and Fabriq to Salon International 2023. To help me share all of this, I’m to be joined by my good friend and Managing Director of INNOluxe and Fabriq, Jez Barnett.

Jez first joined me on the podcast back in 2017, where we learned about creating a global hair product label. He’ll be updating us on this, and why KeraStraight has been rebranded to become Fabriq.

But as this episode title suggests, we’re both here to mostly talk about Salon International, past and present, and how we’re excited to be exhibitors at this years show.

Salon International is a special event for me and Jez. We have attended it for many years. The experience and memories it provides are invaluable. There is no denying that Salon International played a big part in us both becoming hairdressers.

In this conversation you’ll get to hear all about our Salon International 2023 collaboration and the amazing lineup of speakers and artists, legends and newcomers we have planned for it. The Platform live stage will be like no other over Salon International’s 3 days. It’ll feature a diverse range of speakers who will create a positive and informative experience that is all about championing the hair industry.

Salon International is an event not to be missed. Something that will come through heaps in this podcast with Jez today. Let the fun begin!

EP300: Georgia Bell Revisited – Why I’m Not Afraid of Change! Sep 11, 2023
Show notes For this special 300th episode, Im to be joined by Georgia Bell in an episode recorded live on Facebook – a first for the HTCI podcast.

Georgia first came onto the HTCI podcast back in March 2019 in an episode titled How a Small Town Hairdresser is Making a ‘BIG’ Buzz in the Industry – with Georgia Bell. It was a great episode that impressed me so much about, the then, relatively unknown Georgia Bell. We learned how Georgia’s dedication to develop herself to be the best hairdresser should could be by having bags of commitment and determination to succeed in this industry. And that she has certainly done by never being afraid to changing direction.

Today she is back for this special Revisited episode. I want to catch up on her journey in the last 4 years. Stuff like how she has gone from salon owner to independent working, discussing the importance of embracing change and personal growth. She talks about the struggles of managing teams and her balancing roles, She also reveals her recent decision to become sober and emphasises the importance of family and education.

Georgia’s goal is to create killer courses and inspire fellow hairdressers whilst developing herself to be the very best hairdresser she can be. The big takeaway from this conversation today is the importance of staying open to change, continue evolving, and finding new opportunities for growth.

As Georgia says,”You can entertain yourself in the industry as much as you want. You can keep yourself excited by it!”

So if you’re feeling stuck in the slow lane, nows the time to change lane and grow your hair career. Kickstart it by pressing the play button!
