Show Up To Church

John 5:1-4
Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy
days. 2 Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda, with five covered porches. 3 Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches.(NLT)

4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was make well of whatever
disease he had.(NKJV)

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(NIV)

James 5:16
…confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that
you may be healed.(NIV)

Show Up With Your Matt

John 5:5-10
One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” 7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” 8 Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” 9 Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath, 10 so the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, “You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”(NLT)

MAT- Comfort- “Would you like to get well?”

Before you can change, you must decide that you want to change!

MAT- Excuses- “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said.

Show Up Willing

Mark 6:35-41
Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. 36 Send the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy something to eat.” 37 But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!” 38 “How much bread do you have?” he asked. “Go and find out.”

Mark 6:38-40
…They came back and reported, “We have five loaves of bread and two fish.” 39 Then Jesus told the disciples to have the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of fifty or a hundred (NLT)

Show Up Sharing

Mark 6:41-45
Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward
heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share. 42 They all ate as much as they wanted, 43 and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. 44 A total of 5,000 men and their families were fed.(NLT)

HE WANTED THEM TO SEE THEIR LACK, SO THAT THEY COULD
EXPERIENCE HIS PLENTY!

Show Up With Your Questions

Nehemiah 1:1-3
In late autumn,…I was at the fortress of Susa. 2 Hanani, one of my brothers, came to visit me with some other men who had just arrived from Judah. I asked them about the Jews who had returned there from captivity and about how things were going in Jerusalem. 3 They said to me, “Things are not going well for those who returned to the province of Judah. They are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem
has been torn down, and the gates have been destroyed by fire.”

PUT YOURSELF IN A POSITION FOR GOD TO USE YOU!

Show Up With Your Prayers

Nehemiah 1:4-11
When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. 5 Then I said,… 6 listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel…. 8 “Please remember what you told your servant Moses… 11 O Lord, please hear my prayer… Please grant me success today by making the king favorable to me. Put it into his heart to be kind to me.” (NLT)

Show Up With Your Message

Nehemiah 2:1-4
Early the following spring,…I was serving the king his wine. I had never before appeared sad in his presence. 2 So the king asked me, “Why are you looking so sad? You don’t look sick to me. You must be deeply troubled.” Then I was terrified, 3 but I replied, “Long live the king! How can I not be sad? For the city where my ancestors are buried is in ruins, and the gates have been destroyed by fire.” 4 The king asked, “Well, how can I help you?” With a prayer to the God of heaven, 5 I replied, “If it
please the king, and if you are pleased with me, your servant, send me to Judah to rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried.” (NLT)

Show Up With Your Giving

Nehemiah 2:7-8
…I also said to the king.. 8 please give me a letter addressed to Asaph, the manager of the king’s forest, instructing him to give me timber. I will need it to make beams for the gates of the Temple fortress, for the city walls, and for a house for myself.” And the king granted these requests, because the gracious hand of God was on me. (NLT)
