The Key to not Getting Locked Out

Ephesians 5:33

Nevertheless, let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (NKJV)

1. Husband, “So” Love Your Wife

Optimum Question: How should I love my wife?

Ephesians 5:28-29

So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the

church. (NKJV)

(1) Nourish and Cherish her!

Ephesians 5:26-27

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify (complete) and cleanse (purify) her with the washing of water by the word (spoken rhema), that He might present her (near) to Himself a glorious (and magnificently extraordinary)

church, not having spot (stain) or wrinkle (alignment issues) or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish (shame or reproach). (NKJV)

Ephesians 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. (NKJV)

(2) Give your Entire Self!

Jesus didn’t just give the things; He gave Himself!

Ephesians 5:33

Nevertheless, let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (NKJV)

2. Wife, Respect Your Husband…

Respect – To esteem or value the worth of a person. (dictionary definition)

Respect – To esteem or value the worth of a person more than yourself. (biblical definition)

Ephesians 5:31

For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be become one flesh.

(1) Respect for “leaving father and mother.”

Ephesians 5:31 – For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

(2) Respect for “joining with you.”

Genesis 1:26

Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. (NKJ)

Be Generous With your Treasure

A. 1 Timothy 6:18

Tell them to use their money to do good… an be generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. (NLT)

Be Generous With Your Time & Talents

A. 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Teach those who are rich in this world… 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care!

If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” 12 Even corrupt tax collectors came to be baptized and asked, “Teacher, what should we do?” 13 He replied, “Collect no more taxes than the government requires.” 14 “What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied, “Don’t extort money or make false accusations. And be content with your pay.”

Hebrews 6:10-12
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers… 11 …keep on loving others as long as life lasts… 12 Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Prayer Refreshes You: Pray In Private

Pray In Your Prayer Place

Matthew 6:6
