What Happened Between The Dock And The Call To Nolan Wells' Mom Aug 03, 2026
    Show notes

The boat came back to the mainland that afternoon. Nolan Wells was not on it. His friends had his phone. They had his keys. Hours passed before anyone called his mother. By the time Christine Wonsley reported him missing at midnight, the island was dark, the water was empty, and the only people who knew where her son was supposed to be were the friends who left without him.

The girl they say he stayed behind to talk to has now been identified. Her family's version of events does not match theirs. The state autopsy is sealed. The independent autopsy came back undetermined with parts of his throat missing from the body.

Ten audience questions. Tony answers every one — the contradictions, the hours nobody can account for, the sealed evidence, the threats, and the question underneath all of it that nobody in Mississippi seems willing to answer.

What Lindsay Clancy's Own Pill Bottles Proved In Court Aug 03, 2026
    Show notes

The Lindsay Clancy trial is three days deep and every piece of testimony has landed differently than anyone expected. Patrick Clancy — the father of those three children — sat in the witness box, described a woman lost inside thirteen medications, and told the jury he never saw her harm the kids. He asked the public to forgive her. He filed his own lawsuit against her doctors.

Then the prosecution showed nine prescription bottles. Still containing pills. That single piece of evidence may be the thing that reframes the entire defense. If she was overmedicated, why were the bottles full? If she was not taking the pills, what was causing the spiral?

Tony answers the ten questions you asked this week — covering the testimony, the medications, the 911 call, the jury's visit to the Duxbury house, and whether this trial should have happened at all. Your questions. Straight answers.

    D4vd's Lawyer Called Celeste's Wounds WHAT?! Aug 03, 2026
    Show notes

The preliminary hearing for David Anthony Burke, the musician performing as d4vd, has turned into a fight over what actually happened to fourteen-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez in the final minutes of her life — and how far a defense team will go to reframe it.
Attorney Blair Berk isn't disputing that Celeste died. She's disputing when her wounds happened, pressing the LA County medical examiner on whether the injuries could have occurred after she was already dead, then having a detective read text messages in which Celeste referenced hurting herself. It's a strategy built entirely around reasonable doubt, aimed squarely at a girl who has no way to respond to any of it.
The backdrop makes it harder to watch. A notarized consent form let Celeste travel internationally with Burke. Her family reportedly knew about the relationship, attending concerts and even church together. Her father has since denied any contact ever happened, a denial that contradicts sworn detective testimony.
Prosecutors, meanwhile, have built their own timeline: a twenty-one-minute gap between Celeste's Uber arrival and her phone going permanently silent. Three chainsaws recovered from Burke's home tested negative for blood and were never collected as evidence by LAPD. Burke's Interscope deal was worth as much as nineteen million dollars.
Burke has been held to answer on first-degree murder with special circumstances and additional charges tied to illegal conduct with Celeste and unlawful mutilation of her remains. He faces the death penalty and has pleaded not guilty. Arraignment is set for August 31st, and the legal maneuvering is only getting sharper from here.

Nancy Guthrie's FBI Disagrees On THIS Detail Aug 02, 2026
    Show notes

On the same day in July, three different FBI sources gave three different answers about the single most critical piece of evidence in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping — whether the ransom notes are even real.
Tony Brueski goes live to walk through the contradiction: Reuters reporting all the notes are fake, the Phoenix field office saying some may be legitimate, and TMZ's sources ranking the original two as more credible than not. Same evidence, same day, three different stories from inside one investigation. It landed the same week Savannah Guthrie posted a video to her mother's abductor that dropped every demand she'd made for six months and replaced them with something that sounded like she already knows how this ends.
Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer joins the conversation with her ten-point challenge to investigators — why the enhanced photo of porch guy has never been released, why Nancy's face is on the billboards instead of a suspect's, and the one question nobody has answered yet. Former agent Steve Moore has already called the case cold on camera, predicting fresh eyes will eventually have to rotate in.
Genetic genealogy testing on DNA recovered from inside the house began in February. Five months later, if results exist, nobody has shared them.
This is a live conversation about what it means when the Bureau can't agree with itself, and a daughter's words move on without them.

Bryan Kohberger Called His Own Lawyers WHAT?! Aug 02, 2026
    Show notes

Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to the Idaho student murders, avoided a death sentence because of it, and is now telling a judge the attorneys who negotiated that deal failed him.
Tony Brueski is joined live by psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, more than thirty years across private practice, crisis teams, and forensic work, to unpack the handwritten petition Kohberger filed from his cell on July 27, 2026. He names his own defense team as ineffective. He claims he was pushed into a false confession and misled about what a life sentence would actually look like day to day.
The two of them dig into the language he chose — writing that his innocence is his truth rather than simply claiming innocence — and what a year of isolation with no trial and no appeals to occupy his mind might do to a person's account of his own case. They cover his silence when the judge gave him the floor at sentencing, the moment he walked past his mother without turning his head, and the fact that a reporter heard about this petition before his own family did.
This is a live conversation, which means real reactions, audience questions, and a psychotherapist working through what she's hearing in real time rather than a scripted breakdown.
Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin's families are watching this play out with no say in any of it. Join the conversation as it happens.

Lindsay Clancy's Doctors Missed WHAT Thirteen Times?! Aug 02, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children in Duxbury, Massachusetts. She doesn't deny what happened. This trial is entirely about whether she was criminally responsible when it did.
Tony Brueski is joined live by psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, more than thirty years across private practice, community mental health, crisis teams, and forensic programs, to unpack the opening days of testimony — starting with prosecutors putting Patrick Clancy on the stand and walking him through a bag of nine pill bottles, count by count, asking what was missing.
Scott and Brueski get into what the defense calls thirteen prescriptions from multiple prescribers in four months that nobody was tracking, why an afternoon of a patient looking fine doesn't rule out a psychotic illness, and what happens when an antidepressant is handed to someone with an undiagnosed bipolar condition. They cover where Massachusetts actually sends someone found not criminally responsible, which isn't out the front door, and why roughly two dozen countries have a law written for exactly this situation and the United States doesn't.
This is a live conversation, so expect real reactions and audience questions alongside the clinical breakdown.

Why Two Of Celeste's Fingers Were Missing Aug 02, 2026
    Show notes

Why two of Celeste Rivas Hernandez's fingers were missing is a question prosecutors answered in a court brief most people covering this case have skipped past. Tonight we don't skip past it.
Start with the timeline. At 12:04 in the morning, from a desolate road off Highway 154, David Burke's phone called Celeste's number, hours after prosecutors say she was already dead. An LAPD criminalist described spraying Bluestar across the garage, getting strong reactions on rubber mats, the bricks underneath, a rowing machine, a tarp, a cord, and a bag of wipes. All presumptive positive. Blair Berk, for the defense, got that same criminalist to admit under cross-examination that none of it can be called definitively blood, and pointed to two chainsaws that were never swabbed for touch DNA at all.
Then the hearing's final and heaviest session. A medical examiner testified Celeste died of two sharp-force wounds and had been dead for weeks before she was found. A detective walked the court through her phone, messages tracing to when she was eleven, close to fifty images investigators labeled illegal material involving a minor, and texts from January 2024 indicating she was thirteen and pregnant.
Her mother cried in the courtroom gallery. Her father stared at the floor. Burke has pleaded not guilty. A judge decides soon whether this case reaches a jury, and tonight we walk through everything the state has put on the record so far. None of it is settled tonight. A judge still has to decide if it goes further.

Bryan Kohberger Sank His Own Case With THIS Line Aug 02, 2026
    Show notes

Bryan Kohberger sank his own case with one line, and he said it under oath more than a year before he tried to take it all back. Tonight we go through exactly how that happened.
He stood in an Idaho courtroom and pleaded guilty four times to the University of Idaho student murders. Thirteen months later, representing himself, he filed a handwritten petition for post-conviction relief in Ada County, telling the New York Times his actual innocence is his truth. Before it ever reached a judge, he called a reporter from a prison phone, and what he said in that call put the families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in a position they'd been promised, in writing, could never happen.
His petition claims his defense team withheld evidence and painted a distorted picture of what death row and a life sentence would look like, and that threats and false promises produced the original confession. He's also said he'd welcome the death penalty being sought again at a new trial.
But the line that matters most came the day he pleaded. When the judge asked him directly, under oath, whether he was pleading guilty because he was guilty, he said yes. The Goncalves family responded within hours, taking the petition apart point by point. There was never a trial, never a cross-examination, and no motive was ever entered on the record. We walk through what he filed and why it may not hold up. None of it gets resolved tonight. It goes to a judge in Ada County from here.

d4vd's Music Video Showed Him Doing THIS First Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

There's a video that exists before any of this happened, where d4vd plays a character dragging a body into a car. Prosecutors are now alleging he did the real version of that scene to a fourteen-year-old, and tonight we sit with what that overlap actually means.
David Burke's story starts small. Homeschooled, recording in his sister's closet, building an audience in Fortnite lobbies. Prosecutors say that's where he met Celeste Rivas Hernandez, both of them still teenagers, and the connection continued for years without anyone in either of their lives stepping in.
At seventeen, newly signed to Darkroom and Interscope, Burke introduced an alter ego, Itami, the Japanese word for pain, an agent of chaos wearing a blindfold, built from a manga concept about a detective whose double commits the murders he investigates. He put that character on camera holding a knife, taking a woman's arm.
Then the physical evidence entered the record. Investigators matched cuts on an inflatable pool in Burke's garage to fragments found on Celeste's leggings. DNA connected the Tesla and the home directly to her. A criminalist testified about real blood scrubbed from the garage near shelves of fake blood used for props. Cell tower data placed the Tesla in Santa Barbara County three times in the weeks after she allegedly died.
She was fourteen when she went to his home on April 23, 2025, and was never heard from again. Her remains surfaced in his Tesla months later, the day after what would have been her fifteenth birthday. Burke has pleaded not guilty. Tonight we trace the character, the industry around him, and the forensic case now in front of a judge.

Lindsay Clancy's Appointment Prosecutors Never Mentioned Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

Plymouth Superior Court heard two competing openings in the Lindsay Clancy case, and neither one tells the full story on its own. Tonight we put both sides against the medical record and see what survives.
The Commonwealth's opening statement leans on a timeline. A takeout order placed. A pharmacy stop made. A phone call that ran fourteen seconds. ADA Shanan Buckingham is telling the jury that this kind of organization rules out a mind in crisis. The clinical literature on postpartum psychosis, command hallucinations, and a psychotic person's ability to plan tells a very different story, and we go through what it actually says before the jury reaches a verdict.
Then the defense answers. Kevin Reddington told jurors that Lindsay Clancy is paralyzed, with a burst fracture at the top of her spine and every rib broken, injuries the prosecution called superficial in the same courtroom. He read the prescription chart out loud, thirteen medications across five providers in four months, and had Patrick Clancy testify under oath that his wife disclosed suicidal thoughts months before their children died.
We also cover the detail buried inside both openings that neither side dwelled on: an appointment scheduled for the day before the deaths, and the Massachusetts legal standard from 1967 that gives the defense two doors to walk through, both of which the Commonwealth has to close. If you or someone you know needs support, Postpartum Support International is reachable at www.postpartum.net or 800-944-4773. In crisis, call or text 988. Opening day only sets the terms. The medical record is what has to hold up over the next two months.
